Everleaf 541 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 Nope for one it would be too dark to the younger side of the fandom (and upset me being a Luna fangirl XD second well the writers said at least I think they gave their powers to Twilight or something how long? I do not know and I would not think it would (kill them) and I do not think she keeps the power and third well it's going to upset the older side too and also too dark for them to do so... Scootalove 10,689 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 I don't think that they will die, the villain is probably more likely to keep them out of the way and finish his plan. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Genepool 224 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 I find myself very displeased as of late with Celestia being pushed further and further away, Twilight moving towards the spotlight as the reigning princess. S1 had the most showcases of Celestia. S4 has concerned me where she's had 1 speaking role in the premier (I believe) and 2 appearances. Some will attribute this to Celestia being in a mentoring role with Twilight needing her less. I still don't approve of the idea where she comes in for like 1 or 2 episodes before she splits for the season. Zecora seems to have taken a permanent backseat where she had 1 brief showing in the premier. After that, she was gone for the entire season. One thing I will say about all of this, the writers will have no better opportunity to write Celestia, Luna, and Cadence out of the show. A person on the EQD comments brought up a good point where Celestia represents the old guard while Luna and Cadence are the younger generation. In the end, until I see otherwise, I believe Celestia is grooming Twilight to take over Equestria itself. Twilight's little friendship journal caught my eye. In my blunt and honest opinion, I think Twilight is heading for immortality by the final season of MLPFIM. McCarthy's plain statement of "Twilight won't outlive her friends" can be easily twisted with that journal in Twilight's library. Her friends can live on because she has their memories in her journal, thus they never passed away.

ReverseFaller 2,483 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 They probably won't die. But then again, after Twilight gets all of the power will she know how to give it back to each individual princess? Will Celestia let Twilight keep her powers, so she can go through one of her portals to go date the good Sombra? Wardaddy 470 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 Nah, if they're gonna kill them off, they shouldn't confirm that there's a pony afterlife. Having an afterlife, well a good afterlife, ruins any sadness death can create in fiction. They don't have to confirm whether or not there's one, but they should at least leave it ambiguous forever. And I doubt the writers will just because of the nature of the show, not saying death in a kids series is bad, but I think it may be a little too grim for the light-hearted nature of the series. They can kill off villains like Sombra because fuck them. But maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's not too dark. Well of course Hasbro won't confirm an afterlife. If Celestia did pass on, she would say it in a different, more child-friendly way than I did. Something like "She would become one with the sun, to ensure magic would never be needed to raise it again". (Same for Luna and Cadance in their respective elements). Anyway, I hope it won't happen, but from the way it looks now, we may never see Celestia again. 2 "Ideals are peaceful.........history is violent" Sgt. Radiance64 7,053 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 Royals dying? This is a kid's show you know, not Game of Thrones. I mean sure, Celestia, Cadance, and especially Luna have all had moments of weakness before, but I don't think any of them are ever gonna get killed off.
Andaasonsan 3,205 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 I definitely hope not. One reason is that it's a children's show, which means that, even though it'll be the darkest My Little Pony yet, they would never go that far without angering the FCC. After all, remember when Slade fell into lava in the Season Two finale of Teen Titans? They had to censor that because it's a guy burning in lava and having his flesh and blood melted away. Well they wouldn't anger the FCC, they'd anger The Hub's Standards and Practices Department. Okay, about "Slade". Teen Titans seemed to have been under a particular strict reign of dumb arbitrary censorship, as they censored "Slade's" freakin name. His name is Deathstroke the Terminator, people. D-E-A-T-H-S-T-R-O-K-E. Apparently having a character with the word "death" in his name was just too much, so they had to use part of the character's real name -Slade Wilson- as his name. Also they stripped out everything cool and interesting about the character. Sure we could have a super-powered soldier of fortune created by a failed military experiment, but let's just make him some generic mysterious guy in a mask. 3 Application REJECTED! Lily Frost 20 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 I don't think they would ever kill off innocent ponies in a children's show. Just think about it; in your other favorite cartoons, have they ever killed off a character? Maybe so, but still, MLP FiM has been known for its friendship and touch of heart. They would never try to make it a horror film.
SBaby 660 May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 (edited) I seriously doubt they're going to die. I mean, they're transferring their power to one character. Waluigi transferred his powers to FOUR characters, and all it did was put him in a coma for a year. So while I do think such a transfer could have lasting side effects, I doubt death will be one of them. Actually, the coma seems more likely, and would require Twilight to take over for them, even if only temporarily. Edited May 4, 2014 by SBaby A Winner Is You!!! Khaoios 1,970 May 5, 2014 Share May 5, 2014 Killing off Celestia, Luna, and Cadence would lead to a fandom disaster, which i think Hasbro doesn't want to cause. Metemponychosis 1,261 May 5, 2014 Share May 5, 2014 I think that at most the princesses are going to be used to show how powerful this new villain is, Twilight and (I hope) her friends defeat the evil guy and everything goes back to normal. If I'm lucky the princesses will have some part in defeating the villain, but after reading the synopses, I doubt it. https://www.fimfiction.net/user/32864/Metemponychosis For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out. Commander_PonyShep 349 May 5, 2014 Author Share May 5, 2014 (edited) Even though it might be off-topic, I have another worry about the Season Four finale: Because Twilight will have Celestia, Luna, and Cadence's magic, that would mean her friends get left behind again, in-terms of helping her. However, I hope they do help her, anyway; technically, as Twilight is down and out, and is about to be finished off, Twilight's friends arrive to save her despite lacking her magical power. As a result, all six members of the main cast, and their strong bonds of friendship with each other, transform and unlock their Rainbow Power from the blue box, so that they could use a magic rainbow to exorcise the new main villain who may or may not be Tirek, once and for all. EDIT: Never mind. I read spoilers from Equestria Daily: During Twilight's final battle with Tirek, the villain holds her friends hostage in exchange for the magic given to her by the three princesses. She does as he says, but in the process transforms her magic into the final key, which opens the box and grants the entire Mane Six Rainbow Power, which they use to defeat Tirek. Though, there are questions as to what happens to the following:1. Do Tirek's victims get restored?2. Are Celestia, Luna, and Cadence still alive?3. Are Discord and Spike still alive? 4. Can the girls freely switch between their normal forms and Rainbow Power forms? Edited May 8, 2014 by Commander_PonyShep
