  1. They have but the fact is that a lot of G1 villains are bloody amazing because back then cartoons actually had some dark and twisted villains - Grogar being one of the best. That and the Smooze
  2. As the self-imposed master and overlord of villains and evil, I can say that Tirek is a perfect version of the "PowerMad" villain. He isn't blinded by his strength but he also isn't satisfied with what he has. He wants total and complete control of everything and will destroy or sacrifice all those who dare cross his path. He manipulates, he imprisons, he fights, and he breaks the will of his enemies and he is able to hold his own. Unlike the others who have their own greedy intentions that are very narrow minded (Discord - whom I love - wants chaos but only to play with. Chrylasis only wants love to grow in power but on a small scale. Sombra...meh). Tirek wants world domination and will achieve that not through speeches or elaborate plans, or even through trickery. He plans on it through brute force. He is a PowerEvil character and a perfect protrayal of that type of villain. I just wish he didn't lose so easily with the rainbow power. He should have won until season 5 and deserved another 2 episode finale.
  3. A good hero is only defined by the evil that challenges them. Heroes are also quite dull - villains are what define everything. They are the charasmatic, the insane, the cruel, the "kind", the manipulative, the coy, the sneaky, the sly. The rise and fall of a villain trumps all things else. The greatest villains shall be forever worshiped while the heroes are forgotten. Who is praised/remembered more? Maleficent or Philip? Ursula or Eric Hannible or Clarece? Jigsaw or the FBI Freddy or his victims? Joker or Batman Villains define everything. Heroes are a dime a dozen. Without Evil there is no Good. Without Madness there is no Kindess Without Insanity there is no Normality. Villains are the truth Heroes are the lie.
  4. That, my little pony, if Grogar, a necromancer goat "demon" who enslaved all of the ponies during G1 who fed off magic like Tirek did but is a lot more intelligent and a lot more cruel. Like the Hannible Lector of Ponies
  5. There is only one thing I want and one thing only.
  6. Bloody fantastic episode. Pony DBZ all the way. I really enjoyed seeing Discord being fleshed out even more - that internal battle of wanting to be lord of chaos vs wanting to keep his friends was perfect. However - cop-out ending is cop-out. The whole Friendship-epic-blast to knock Tirek back to hell was an eye rolling moment. Tirek didn't once think of locking them up and breaking his end of the deal after taking her magic? He locked up the other princesses after they were helpless, why not the girls? I just didn't like the One-hit knock out. It was not a worthy end to a villain such as this. He deserved more than what he got. In fact, I'd prefer it if the season ended when he took her magic so Season 5 we see Equestria under his rule while the girls try to stop him. He deserved another 2 part episode.
  7. Fantastic satirical episode poking fun of the whole adult/male fandom of the Bronies. In the episode, Tina goes to her first convention only to discover it is nothing but adult men with pony-themed names "Pony Danza :D". When a brony cons her out of her very rare pony toy, Bob (her father) must learn all of the Equestranaut history to infilitrate the brony fandom! http://dubbed-scene.com/bobs-burgers-season-4-episode-17-the-equestranauts Who else saw this episode and appreciated the satire
  8. SAW 1-6 *drops the mic and walks out
  9. Here's the thing my friends. A lt of companies have these lawyers and legal teams who are too paranoid about any form of outsider creativity. However what they need to look is look at LucasArts. George Lucas has allowed thousands upon thousands of fans make their own games, movies, apps, shows, parodies; etc using the Star Wars universe, effects, etc and nothing has ever detracted from the actual property of Star Wars. I mean a lot of these guys are mini celebs because of it and sell shirts with their movie/parodies on it but it just adds to the love of Star Waars and does nothing to hurt LucasArts... More companies need to understand that.
  10. As is button mash, to an extent. Tis such a gray area...
  11. Here's the thing. You would think they would target the animators and the youtubers who make videos of the mane six slaughtering, butchering, and murdering one another while cussing, using drugs, having sex, or enslaving other characters as they are a bigger threat to their image than anything involving button mash
  12. The original had humans. If it were set up properly; this could be a reality in your version.
  13. I love gore. I love movie violence. SAW, CUBE, Dead Snow - some of my favorite movies ever and omg do they get me excited when the blood starts pumping. However, I despise Violence for the sake of Violence. Shock-Value without any substance is not talent. It is just slinging blood around for no reason. Want a good example of this? Human Centipede 1 was amazing. Seriously. It was sick, shocking, twisted; and it had a purpose and a storyline. The 2nd one though was just nothing more than "Let's be f*cked up for the sake of being f*cked up." It didn't upset me or make me sick. It BORED me. Now. Smile HD. Where do I stand? Animation is beautiful. And there is a deeper meaning to it as if you look closer; Pinkie's smile is forced. You notice she seems to be crying when everyone is dead. This hints at a much deeper psychological insanity within her. However, without any other context; we get nothing but shock for the sake of being shocking. That is not to say how this being made was not well done. It kept in sync with the music, the beats matched Flutter's punches, and it had some great animation. However the purpose of this existing is pretty much "Let's be violent and shock bronies!" It is balancing on the "Useless idiotic violence" and "Maybe there is something here violence. As such, I rate it a 5 out of 10. Good music, good sync. However I feel that this serves zero purpose other than to shock and for that, I have to just yawn.
  14. Ya...so trying out Snapchat...if you wanna add me. PM me.

  15. Add a darker tone to certain episodes - bring back the darkness that populated cartoons of the 80s and 90s. I am not talking about blood or gore or murder, but serious themes that we saw in shows like Aladdin, TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyals. Bring an long underlying threat of a serious villain that is not some silly troll (I LOVE YOU DISCORD) or a singing succubus. I want to see Grogar and I want it to be a 4 part episode with scary (still a PG rating, but just dark enough to make kids intrigued without giving nightmares) plot moments. I see no issue with having characters grow closer to others. I.E. having a relationship. One of my favorite cartoon relationships of all time was Baloo w Becky Cunningham. It was never lovey-dovey and it was a slow evolution from hating each other to tolerating, to protective, to eventually loving but never to the point of them actually getting married or anything like that. I would prefer that the characters explore outside of ponyville more often. See the rest of the world.
  16. There are some days where I wonder what it would be like to just take that plunge and lose myself to the madness within…How tiring is it to always be on that brink but never letting yourself take that step knowing one may never come back the same person they were before they made that jump.

    1. Dark Heart

      Dark Heart

Trust me i know them feels, but its not what can happen, but what we let happen, in the end its our choice to go on on life and fight on, cause if you give up then everything is loss and never given back.

    2. PurplePony

      PurplePony

      ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ INCREDIBLY TRUE

  17. I disagree on this. Mikey is not protrayed as uber dumb. He's protrayed as the youngest brother of the group who just has his head in the clouds. He's a little kid compared to the others who are more serious and older (despite the fact they are the same age)
  18. skip to 16:30 to see the Derp. Apparently it is okay to have a character in a kids' show who is not only phyiscally deformed that is pretty brain dead, but it is also okay to have the only thing the creature say as being "DERP DERP DERP" but GODS FORBID we have a clumsy blond pony named derpy. AmiRight?
  19. This saddens me. Ghostbusters - both the cartoon and movies - were a big part of my childhood. He will be missed...
  20. A unique pony that is you Is welcome to our den, we'll make some room. Many a brony shall you find To be fun, amusing, and very kind. But beware of those who seek The villains' love and who prey on the meek For we are the most twisted of fans The Nega Bronies welcome you to the Brand.
  21. Suda 51. This guy knows what gaming is all about. Seriously, back before videogames became mainstream and overtook Hollywood in revenue, video-games used to provide onto us an experience unlike any other. I am not talking about facing Nazis during World War II. I am talking about games where you played a God who uses a Cherub to build cities ala Sim City before materializing onto Earth to slaughter demons and monsters (Actraiser). Or what about the game where you played a red gargoyle who must defeat other gargoyles, steal their abilities, to wipe out an evil god-like gargoyle monster (Demon’s Crest). Or a Knight who throws an infinite amount of lances at goblins and ghosts and traverses miles of cursed land and faces Satan himself just to save his precious love (Ghosts and Goblins). Suda 51 gets this. He gets that gaming doesn’t have to be based in reality. If you want to play a cheerleader who summons a heart-covered chainsaw to slaughter hordes of music-themed zombies; then so be it. Want to be a demon-hunter who has a talking skull pistol that can transform into a motorcycle as you travel to Hell to save your girlfriend’s so? Awesome. An Otaku pervert who wants to become the world’s greatest assassin just so that he can get laid? BAM! Suda51 has the game for you. I will admit that his games are not 100% flawless. Some have camera issues, others have weird difficulty curves, and some gameplay elements aren’t as polished as AAA titles are, but they are still fun. Of course, with my eccentric love for weird and unusual video games, it comes to no surprise that I’ve fallen in love with Suda’s insane style. His music, his 80s/90s vibe, his humor; it’s just a lot of fun. As such, I’ve purchased several of his American-Released games including Killer7, Lollipop Chainsaw, and No More Heroes. However, I’ve decided that it is not enough. Suda has currently worked on about 30 games and I am making it my duty to collect all 30. However, there is a bit of a stickler in this mission. A majority of these games were never released in the US but I shall not let that stop me!! So. Let’s go down the list and see what we got! There are some games on this list that are the same game, but given a new title when ported over to a different country. For example, Flower, Sun, and Rain for the PS2 is the exact same game as Flower, Sun, and Rain: Murder and Mystery in Paradise for the DS. As such, I will consider owning one of these games as a goal instead of buying both. Later I may consider getting both copies but for now, it is not my priority. Also, non games like SDcatcher (a radio drama) doesn’t count. So, let us make a list and start this challenge off properly! Legend: Titles in RED and Crossed Out are the ones I currently Own Titles in BLUE and Crossed Out are ports where I own 1 of them but on a different console than originally released upon Titles in PURPLE and Crossed Out cannot be obtained due to release issues. Super Fire Pro Wrestling 3 Final Bout Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special Twilight Syndrome: Search Twilight Syndrome: Investigation Moonlight Syndrome The Silver Case Flower, Sun, and Rain Michigan: Report from Hell Killer7 The Silver Case, 25 Ward Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked Contact Blood+: One Night Kiss No More Heroes Flower, Sun and Rain: Murder and Mystery in Paradise Fatal Frame IV The Silver Case – DS Release No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle Shadows of the Damned Rebuild of Evangelion: Sound Impact Sine Mora Diabolical Pitch Lollipop Chainsaw Liberation Maiden Black Knight Sword Killer Is Dead Liberation Maiden SIN Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day Several of these games may prove very difficult to get. For example, The Silver Case has a sketchy release. The DS version was never released and the Silver Case 25 was ONLY released to Japanese Mobile Phones. So those two are out of the question. Furthermore, as I do not have an Xbox 360, I am unable to download and purchase Diabolical Pitch. So sadly, that one is also out of the question The rest, however, seem to be obtainable. Ah, but you may be asking yourself “Why is he collecting games if many of these are for Japanese-Only consoles and are written ONLY in Japanese?”. Well, the answer is simple. I am a collector as well as a huge fan of Suda 51. Eventually I may get a Japanese console to play these upon (hopefully my launch PS3 can play Japanese PS1 and PS2 games – since it can play PS2 games ) and with luck I can find walkthroughs or translations online so I know what the hell I am doing. However, the primary goal is to just try to complete this personal challenge. Wish me luck! I will be updated everyone as time goes on
  22. With the latest episode showing some of the greatest and cutest moments of Fluttershy dancing, how about a thread dedicated to gifs of both her singing and dancing along with other cute moments from the show?!!?
  23. It is basically a party to celebrate a pony getting his or her (probably mostly her) cutie mark
