  1. possibly yes.. when I was talking to the people at the nearest build a bear they said they were releasing in order of popularity.. guess who's last....
  2. Does it have to be of the mane cast? If not, Definitely Derpy Who can possibly resist that silly filly? Of the mane cast though... hmm... Sweetie Bell! that squeaky voice, and her sister troubles just work better than the others
  3. Theres still hope, and I doubt their cells are working. Cell phones still require a signal to function, and if they touched in an area without cell service.. well.. obvious reason for not working... The real question is why the beacon went dark in the first place. Problem isn't really the electronics themselves, but the pilots complacent attitudes when relying upon them. Many people rely WAY to heavily on electronic devices for things they do, when manual backups exist. Thing is, they often don't keep up with the manual things because the simplistic nature of just using the electronic options. Thus mistakes are often caused as a result of complacent attitudes DUE to the excessive electronics we have.
  4. Actually there is something that can be done. A petition and a boycott that people ACTUALLY follow would kick them right where it hurts. The wallet and PR. But thats not likely to happen, and is why large companies like Hasbro feel this is the right approach to things.
  5. Or french I'm trying to recall where it was said.. but I know somewhere the joke was made "We're not rude, We're french!"
  6. TBH nope, she shouldn't. Even in the comics she didn't show any hint of letting up, and only sought power. She's probably the shows only REAL villian to appear aside from sombra TMK. Discord only did it because thats what he is, chaos, not because he wanted to really be a total pain in the tail. Never understood this though, while I agree, it contradicts the idea that driving while drunk is a "personal choice" among other things that you can be charged for under the claim that you made a conscious choice in the right state of mind.
  7. Dare I ask? and AWESOME! did ya make a derp face as you ate it?
  8. Love the comics a TON, the in jokes, the expansion of the characters and world, and how it reaches farther than the show can be permitted while sticking to its "target" audience (Apple booze and drunk ponies FTW!) . The comics literally create a LIVELY world, where the show has a rather.. somewhat uninhabited place... Sure we see a lot of BG ponies, but not much going on with them usually, they're just disposables. The comic has constantly recurring characters, and it ties its various counterparts together to some degree (well.. thankfully not the RD mini... ) I love the comic, but the show has its charm as well, and always will IMO. TBH I wish Tibbles would make a transition (and opossum as a pet.. lol.. or live pony chess... fun!), as well as the Luna/Celestia personalities the comics has displayed. They seem more alive than in the show, where they often seem to just be literally nothing but supporting characters without personalities :/ The two actually have a relationship going, and have their own things happening, while the show just kinda of.. guest stars... And I don't solely refer to the micro series for the princesses, they actually explained in a short about Celestia's lack of participation in the changeling incident in the first season as well at the end of the final book. And the second saw a good portion of Luna's character pulled together and explained.
  9. Oh hey, found a spare AJ too hmm better move to PM's now I suppose also.. Luna? really? TBH I think I have a spare of her or NMM somewhere.. Unless I gave them away already... hmm interesting...
  10. lol well so far I've dug up Berry punch Shining armor/Cadence Pinkie x2 Discord Rainbow Dash Spike Lyra/Bon Bon x2 Alicorn Amulet take all ya want, spares aren't of much use to me since it seems other fans in the area are clearly in the closet.... (i know they're here, they're sucking up merch faster than I can get too it!) I'm pretty sure I have more, but atm my desk is a disaster area... bad week...
  11. And those aesthetics make up the show. The created characters from the fans, expanded stories, and hard work can actually improve the show by giving the company a better idea of what is enjoyed by the fans. Integrating the fans into the shows staff would also put a clearer focus on making sure things turn out for the best. Lauren Faust after all is/was a huge fan of MLP before she pitched the reboot. If it wasn't for that one fan, this new series wouldn't exist. Imagine what could happen if Hasbro used Buttons adventures as a spinoff web series! I dunno, I've actually been handed lawyer trash before and it was so badly worded and typed that if the lawyer hadn't given it to me himself, I'd have thought it fake too. And generally the lawyers aren't smart enough to know how to directly contact the video creators, nor will they look for the obvious links. They usually just send a random letter to the site hosting the content since theres normally a "report" button that can be utilized. Same reason someone would "swat" someone else. As for verification, that would be a LOT harder to do. The local courthouse would not have any knowledge of the C&D, it never passes any courts. This is a document sent directly to the supposed infringer, from the lawyers office. A "warning" of sort BEFORE any official legal documentation is filed. This way they can say "we warned them" and the person wouldn't be able to defend themselves any better. Did they? they had permission to post the bronydoc video and even that has been pulled. What office? if it wasn't Hasbro's, and there wasn't a massive fee involved, I'd question if said lawyer even looked into it besides it looking official. You can find official looking documents all over the place online, and thats actually where the aforementioned lawyer got the one he handed me. He downloaded it, filled in the blanks, and handed it to me. I know that because the wording of it would've allowed him access to some very private medical information that he had no need for, and I refused to sign. So he confessed and altered the document accordingly.
  12. PC, Laptop, iPad, iPhone, PSVita, 3DS, Retron, Atari... are we sticking to hardware that plays, or peripherals too?
  13. Better erase that profile, remove your avatar (especially that, since its in no way official. Its a fan work done by a rather R34 connected artist no less.), delete all content from your HDD, burn any shirts or other non-direct from hasbro items you have. While your at it, smash your TV, computer, and burn your home to the ground. How much of these things are all based off something else? Very little and next to nothing is original, everything is a copy in some form or another. Its just a matter of approach and how far its been altered to seem less like the original that makes things different.
  14. On the flip side though, its not how the C&D that shut down the live action ODST fan made web series worked out.. Despite it followed an MS licensed story from the Evolutions books, and was 100% free project (no donations were there for this TMK).. That would've sold more books, advertised ODST/Halo more, and given the fans what they really wanted.. a Live action Halo film! Instead, it was canned due to C&D while MS began to make the terrible (and I do mean terrible.. ugh, those actors were just BAD...) live action series they did instead... That one def should've been license, those random people could act circles around the crew that ended up in the official :/ But again, that was due to like the star wars one above where the company was making their own variation of the same thing.
  15. No, and yes. first and foremost it is ALWAYS about profit. while it could've been confused with official content, that same line could be used for ANYTHING that uses the style (since thats the stated reason), so they have a LOT of work to do if thats the problem. As for going against the spirit of the show.. Not really. Button Mash only had a pilot, he wasn't even fleshed out and hadn't been really given a purpose yet. But from the pilot, its not really much different than what the comics have done, let alone the show. Button mash, aside from other fan works around him, never went against the show, but nor had he a chance to be put into perspective either. Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2 (original TF was a mod for Quake, not even Valves title!), Garry's mod, black mesa project, etc... Valves take is to "please the fans" and they do. In doing so they've garnered immense support and massive profits, expanding themselves from simple game development to publishing and direct sales. Now they're expanding more with what they've made, and still being nice to the fans. SteamOS... is going to be FREE.... Oh and mind you, that free remake of the original HL hasn't cost them the HL license in any way. And that isn't just a look alike, its a literal remake.
  16. Not really, it'd put the precedent that quality work can be rewarded. Its profited heavily for Valve, whom have even allowed complete rebuilds of their games to have been made for free by the fans, and hired on modders to their staff in order to sell the once free content.
  17. To be fair, LucasArts did attack a few fan projects JUST before the release of the Jedi Knight 2 game. But that was in an effort to push their own product and prevent the mods from being more popular. Plus, the mods attacked used the same engine (Quake 3) Also though in this example, that enticed the SALE of another product in order to play a star wars title. One that LucasArts didn't profit from. Button Mash and other MLP fan projects didn't TMK have this restraint where a service not controlled by Hasbro is being paid for...
  18. @@Zhortac,lol ahh I see WA in there.. I recall living out there... post boxes weren't common on whidbey either..
  19. I still find this hard to believe. This fandom has caused the extensive licensing out of the series merchandise and expanded it as a whole. The toy line hasbro makes is nothing in comparison to what this fandom has created and gives them cash flow on. We now see MLP merchandise in stores that never would've had it before, and its not the kids toys either. The show has even been VERY heavily influenced by this. Characters, the EQG movies, jokes, and much more is being clearly directed at this fandom over the children it had originally been for. Even the comic books all show HEAVY gearing toward the older fans. All they needed to do was acknowledge it and they would've been covered. Endorse it, and they could've made more money. License it, and they could've started another toy lineup. When the quality of work is that high, the options that involve directly taking control OF the content are far better than those that DESTROY it.
  20. lol how so? they're small enough to plop into small envelope and send off Or is it cause you have most of them already too?
  21. Depends on how long the leash is they have on the lawyers, and how long it takes before the bottom line gets hit. Problem here is if your going to start shutting off your consumer base and free advertising, your going to ruin your franchise as opposed to protect it. While the MLP franchise has obviously been decent for them, it hasn't been this good in almost 30 years. And unless they intend to drop their larger profits, than these moves aren't exactly the smartest. The collectors are the new biggest income makers, where kids once were. Hasbro and some other companies need to figure this one out. Even Disney knows it, and have geared clearly in that direction. But assaulting the fans rather than embracing them is pretty much the down right opposite. I can see hammering down on R34, and the nastier content. But things like button mash should've been embraced, maybe even given a license. All they'd have had to do is say "we approve of this" and their licenses would've been maintained without dropping a dime. Even that C&D send out cost them money since a lawyer had to be paid to do that.
  22. Well got my shirts from welovefine the other day! Love them. Except that the iron on used are really not the best kind. They're really rubbery and are the type that'll scratch off easily or get snagged on things. Or worse shrink and start peeling off due to heat exposure! I do love the party shirt though, even if it does shock me if the wire isn't settled right Also grabbed another pair of RD sleep pants from target. It's odd. They're in e men's section at this target, and not even sold at the other 3 I looked in!! So get them if ya can! I'll trade ya for derpy. I have a bunch of extras and only like 5 tags I need to complete my set! Derpy being one of them!!!! I'll have to wait till I get home to get the list. But I do know off the top of my head that I have extra spike, berry punch, and a few others.... They're in a pile on my comp desk
  23. I highly doubt that, otherwise George Lucas lost star wars YEARS ago, and paramount star trek. Neither company has lost anything. Fan works aren't uncommon on either of those fronts. I know of at least one whole fan series (actual people actors and all) made for star trek. Hell, I don't see Valve sueing the Black Mesa project, instead they endorsed it and put it on steam! Its a complete remake of Valves Half Life 1 game. New voice work, all new models, recreated maps, sounds, music.. the WHOLE game completely rebuilt FOR FREE! These days though the major thing is usually rogue lawyers. I've seen more than one instance where the company doesn't actually have the leash on its lawyers, and instead gives them autonomous control over the C&D send outs over infringement. Leading to the actual content holders never being aware whats going on. TBH when someone is this capable and with such quality, the best move would actually be to LICENSE/ENDORSE/HIRE them to create their works as advertising of sorts. It keeps the licenses in check, and allows to content control as well (I.E. it'd keep actual questionable content out, and give the company control enough to do so). It'd cost virtually nothing to the company, and give the fans more to play with. Or if they did sink a little into it, they could have web spinoff series and new toy lines to sell as a result! C&D's though is just bad publicity, and it will drive off the cash flow. I truly doubt that Hasbros own toy lines are making nearly as much as the licensed out content thats targeted toward the older fans. Especially when they are clearly toying with things in the show itself targeted so obviously at us.
  24. Wait.. Didn't JanAnimations receive legit consent to make some of those vids? including the one used for the documentary? TBH this sounds like an over zealous lawyer that needs a swift kick to the nuts moreso than Hasbro themselves. Someone should contact hasbro itself regarding this and see where it goes. It wouldn't be the first time a companies sue happy lawyer went AWOL and just started C&D'ing everything they found on the internet.
