  1. Oki-doki. Just finished the finale. Will be back to talk about it soon enough. Gotta pack for my trip tomorrow though. See you ponies later :)

  2. Back home from Key West...lots of driving happened xP

    1. Drunk Not I Am

      Drunk Not I Am

Probably not. An uneventful vacation, but the driving itself was fine. Been in a car a lot these past few days though. 5 hours from Uni to home, 3 hours to Key West, 3 hours back home, and (tomorrow) 5 hours back to Uni.

  3. Because being shallow gives you a false point of departure.
  4. "Self" is defined in relation to others. Though commonly seen as opposites, they are co-constitutive. We do not, and cannot, exist outside of a social context because it is the very thing that impresses and shapes our embodied experience. We are forever changing, and never exactly the same as we once were. On the note of how I define my "self": I don't have one to define.
  5. Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection. A raising simulation and rhythm game that has me loving the cast of characters even more than before <3
  6. Highlights Fluttershy's lines: 'If you could stop yelling..or using words in general' xD Calling Twilight out for the book overcount was great, too. And Twilight's rational/systematic approach was a treat to see. Her declaration for peace made it clear that you can't just shout your answers at people. It's all too common that we ignore another's argument until we find an opening for our own. This shows again when they're wheeling the Trojan cake over, and Twilight wants to know what part of her argument fixed things. She went on to gather data and explore new angles, but was convinced that they just needed to hear an answer from her portfolio. Sidenote: She was ripping pages from a portfolio; not a book Lowlights Many have already mentioned the resolution feeling weak, which I agree with. Namely, it feels like we've covered this problem already. The environmental aspect adds something, but acts more like an accent to an old theme. There's also the fact that it was too easy. I recognize the time constraints, but that hasn't stopped them from telling their story in stronger ways. It covers a common trope and is filled with some common stereotypes. That dirt eating scene made me stop for a sec. Overall Not the best, not the worst. 7ish/10, I suppose.
  7. Locked mind, locked heart. The world can only fall apart.

  8. Heya ^^ Dramatic question warning! I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Namely: why do you choose to live? For me, I'm sticking around because I'm enjoying myself. My goal for the longest while was to understand people (including myself), and since reaching the answers I needed, I'm largely indifferent to things. Apathy was a major enemy of mine some time ago, but now it's a reformed ally. I'm not forcing myself to find some lifelong goal (like forging deep bonds or fighting for a grand cause). Everything has it's limits, and properly so. I certainly won't avoid those things, but they aren't my center anymore. There are far more forms of happiness to explore. Life's fun if you can find ways to make it fun, but death seems pretty inviting otherwise. And in case you were wondering, I'm not suicidal; I just see death as a reasonable choice. Finding work/income and having my own place is the goal now. Somewhere I can build a nice gaming/anime sanctuary to spend my days with whatever/whomever I enjoy. /endmonologue Feel free to throw me your thoughts. I'd love to hear them ^^
  9. Replied to a thread on these forums, continued a game on my PS Vita, did laundry, made quesadillas, ate quesadillas, did some Japanese homework, and now finishing this post.
  10. We need to be careful with how we measure superiority. Their ability to destroy the other is a valid consideration; their culture is not. There is no such thing as a superior or primitive culture. Some will live and some will die, but that is a matter of power.
  11. There are no rights to be given. Those with power just decide how to use it.
  12. The whole point of the episode was that anyone is prone to emotions like jealousy or the occasional outburst. It's not like Twilight, or anyone else, reviews every life lesson they've ever learned before making a decision. They have emotions in that moment, and are largely influenced by the events surrounding them. A synthesis of knowledge exists, but it acts as a general guide that easily overlooks specifcs. For example: Twilight views herself as a better person from all the lessons she's learned, she's not thinking about every isolated lesson; thus, she held herself to an unrealistic standard of living/feeling/acting...which is pretty much what you're expecting of her. It's completely unrealistic to apply that type of standard to any corporeal, sentient being. Her remarks about the humor show how she's slowly unraveling by trying to uphold an unhealthy standard. She takes a stance so far out in left field that she rambles on about the most roundabout explanation to justify her belief; she has no problem laughing about it at the end because she never really believed that. That was her functioning under stress. Closest thing to a relapse of Lesson Zero's mindset, and it's been a while since that aired. The episode makes perfect sense, and it works just fine.
  13. Oki-doki! That's another ending cleared in HDN 2. What to do with the rest of my day?

  14. Chocolate pudding because I'm currently playing through all the HDN games...and the protagonist mentions pudding so much that I started wanting some ^^ Historically though, dark chocolate bars (90%) and peppermint dark chocolate pieces are go-to treats. Recently, chewy chocolate chip cookies. On special occasions, my brother makes a mouthwatering brownie trifle. There's never enough of that one
  15. @, I love any story with colorful and interesting characters; especially when new viewpoints and ideas get explored. The two standout anime for me are: Hunter X Hunter and Durarara!!. These are the only shows where I've fallen for virtually every character they introduce. Hunter X Hunter takes you into a world where people pursue their desires, but none are framed as "good" or "evil". Even the apparent antagonists can become allies if their interests align. It takes no time at all to get attached to these characters since none of them really hide their intentions. Unlike most shounen, there's a lot of internal dialogue and situational analysis that gives you a clear picture of why things unfold the way they do - something people usually reduce to plot armor or convenience. There's so much to love. At first, it seems like a very typical shounen with a happy-go lucky protagonist, but the darker side surfaces pretty soon, and it's a constant dance between the two, which I really appreciate. Life isn't one way or the other, it's both and neither. Next is Durarara!!, which captures the varied and hidden sides of humanity. Once season 2 hits, even the most inconspicuous characters reveals their alternate side(s). There have been far too many times where I realize how much I've underestimated a character. Every one of them is extremely engaging, and this non-chronological story weaves all their lives into an engaging tale. In some ways, it's the opposite of Hunter X Hunter since characters usually keep their desires hidden while pursuing them. I'd highly recommend either one of these. For a more comprehensive/impersonal answer though, here's my anime list! ^-^
  16. Pshuuuu! (。◕‿◕。)

  17. Amazing episode...honestly, this season is hitting high points all over. The continuity, character development, and themes in this episode are superb - as is the music accompanying it all. We've got some Sweetie magic, recognizable student ponies, new sides to Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara, family pressures, living by the interpretation of one's mark, Crusaders getting their CUTIE MARKS, reference to The Apple Family's lost members, and fresh takes on cutie marks...plus, more songs. So. Much. Win. I love MLP!!! ^^
  18. Well. Just spent an hour sending a text, so it's time to resume homework ^^

  19. 62 notifications! Know that's not a lot for some, but it's a whole lot for me. Have I been gone that long ^^' Anyway, just watched the two latest episodes, and I'm thoroughly impressed. So glad MLP is maintaining such quality :)

  20. Restless. I love my studies, but don't really have much in the way of hobbies. There are clubs and other activities I do, but during my down time...like when I get back home on a Friday night, I can't think of a single thing I want to do. *sigh* Suppose that'll be remedied a bit when I buy a PS TV tomorrow.
  21. Jumped on to check notifications, jumped off, realized Rarity had wings...then jumped back. Nice banner ^^

  22. Ou! A Poke'banner ^^ Awesome....but why?

    1. The Cynical Lone Wolf
