Is the g4 fandom unappreciative of MLP's legacy?
SaburoDaimando replied to ManaMinori's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Long before I was a fan of Friendship is Magic, I did get into the series with the original cartoon, and the movie. I still hold the original series in some regard(I even have it all on DVD), and it had three different cartoons to go with it: Glofriends, Potato Head Kids and Moondreamers. Apparently, I was a fan of the Glo Friends back then. -
gaming How many of you ponies here play Garry's Mod on Steam?

Use to. But it seems I'm more keen on Source Filmmaker than Garry's Mod. -

If you all recall in the Season 6 finale: "To Where and Back Again," Starlight Glimmer enlisted Discord's help in defeating Queen Chrysalis and saving Equestria. But Discord hopped on after learning that Fluttershy was kidnapped by the changeling queen. At the end of it all, Discord was most graceful to get Fluttershy back thanks to Starlight Glimmer's thinking. But I wonder. This means that Discord now owns a great deal of gratitude to Starlight Glimmer for helping save Fluttershy. What should Discord do to repay Starlight for her heroism?

Mark Evanier, a close friend of June, confirmed in his blog that June Foray has indeed passed away. http://www.newsfromme.com/2017/07/26/june-foray-r-p/ Also, I managed to get a chance to see the voice actress in person at Comic-Con 2009. I never got to chat with her, but what she demonstrated as an actress during those days was pure bliss. Even at the age of 91 during that time, she was one of the best actresses of all time.

Starlight Glimmer- I want her to go down the path of being a teacher to a new Unicorn Student. Personally, I would like it if it were one that wasn't selected by Twilight or CElestia, but chosen by Starlight to helped the troubled youngster Discord- More interactions with Pinkie Pie Pinkie Pie- More Interactions with the Cutie Mark Crusaders Trixie- A Rival, perhaps? Diamond Tiara- More episodes of her since her reform. Perhaps showcasing her more as a friend in need. Princess Celestia- A Royal PRoblem was a great way to expand on Celestia. Keep this up. Tirek- Make him a more sympathetic villain where the audience feels sorry for him(In fact, I hope his own tragic past at least gets enough kids to cry for him).

Before I talk about Comic-Con, lemme bring something up. Seems Jim Miller didn't appreciate me trying to talk to some of the guests on wanting to guest star on MLP. I had to apologize to him and let him know that I didn't mean to complicate things. I'm glad he accepted it, cuz I don't want to be in big trouble with Hasbro. I'm just a guy who's passionate to see three actors join others like John De Lancie and William Shatner on the MLP Guest Hall of Fame. Anyway, I only did three panels today. First one was a tribute to the late Jack Kirby, hosted by Mark Evanier. He talked about some of the tributes that Jack left on the Comic Book world, and one rule that he follows: Never change the original sketch of the face. I also met the Granddaughter of Bill Finger: Athena Finger. I got her to see one of my original characters, and she actually liked it. Pretty neat huh? I got to see the rest of LEGO Scooby Doo, and it's was rather typical Scooby Doo outting....with LEGOs. I even got to see Matthew Lillard, voice of Shaggy, alongside Grey Griffin Finally, I got to check out LEGO DC Superhero Girls. It was alright, but a little too much on the saccharine side. Before leaving, I was able to pick up two My Little Pony toys, and two Mega Man X: Zero toys. Finally, I was able to test out Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania Sonic Forces: I got to test out the Custom Character and the Flamethrower weapon. The gameplay reminded me of a mix between Sonic and Mega Man gameplay. Not too bad, if you ask me. Though I kept messing up in one part of the stage. Luckily, I had infinite lives. Sonic Mania: Plays alot like the Genesis Sonic games. Though the music sounds abit similar to Super NES Music(And yes, I know that Sonic came from the SEGA Genesis). Note: On the boss fight, do not take too long, or you will be backed over a cliff. Anyway, that's it for Comic-Con. And as exciting as it was, it was also overwhelming. Too many people in line, too many crowds, too many events running at the same time. One day, I may retire from Comic-Con, never to step foot in the convention again. When that day comes, I will miss going there. But at least, I have other conventions to go to here in San Diego.

Comic-Con Day 3: We need 3 for My Little Pony
SaburoDaimando posted a blog entry in The Blog of a Bronicorn
Today was more of an interesting day. But what I will talk about are 3 people I reunited with that I want to see guest star on My Little Pony. The first is Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman. I enjoyed his recent work on Batman and Harley Quinn, which I talked about in my last entry. I let him know that I would love for him to guest star on My Little Pony, and even brought up Tara Strong as one of the actresses. The second is Water Jones, known as Zack Taylor the Original Black Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. And I was able to let him know that I would like to have him guest star on My Little Pony. And finally, the third is none other than the legendary Jason David Frank, known to all as Tommy Oliver the Original Green Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. I brought up two guest stars that came onto the series(John De Lancie and William Shatner). And fun fact: He's in another Hasbro project: Transformers Titans Return as Emissary alongside Peter Cullen(Optimus Prime) and Judd Nelson(Hot Rod) As for the panels... The first is Quick Draw. This is a panel where Mark Evanier hires artists to draw something random for the audience to enjoy from Mad Magazine's Sergio Aragones and Oddball Comic artist Scott Shaw. When voice actor Phil Lamar came up to play a little game, the ARtists decided to troll him by drawing random drawings just for fun. It was hillarious. In the same room, Mark Evanier also hosted his annual Cartoon Voices panel. This is where voice actors like Richard Steven Horwitz and Jeff Bergman test their skills out on what they are capable of to the audience, and when they get to do a cold reading of a random script. And if you ask me, it's the mess-ups that make the panel more fun. Later that day, I was FINALLY able to play Super Mario Odyssey. It was a 10 minute session, but it was alot of fun exploring New Donk City. Some parts of the game reminded me of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, where it encourages you to explore and locate any moons you can find. I managed to find 6 Moons in my session before it expired. And the final panel was the panel about Bronies. They talked about the fandom, and the conventions they hold, from Equestria LA, to EVerfree Northwest, to BronyCAN and Pacific Ponycon. I made a confession that I was able to get the three actors I mentioned early ago interested in guest starring on My Little Pony(Kevin Conroy, Walter Jones and JAson David Frank). I even let the writer of Equestria Daily know about this and gave him a tweet about the three. Anyway, my only purchase for the day, besides the three autographs, is the only Hasbro Item I bought: A Star Wars set consisting of Luke Skywalker and Rey from the upcoming The Last Jedi. Surprisingly, they have plenty of those in stock.. Tomorrow will stand as my final day of San Diego Comic-Con. And afterwards, the Convention will go away till 2018. It's been a long and tiring Convention. I can't wait to go to a more quieter con like SD Comic Fest or maybe Equestria LA.-

Comic-Con Day 2: Because Panels wear me out
SaburoDaimando posted a blog entry in The Blog of a Bronicorn
Whew. What a day. First off, I lucked out and got a ticket to the Autograph session of My Little Pony. Actually, it was alot easy to get one of those tickets. I went to the Hasbro Booth as soon as the doors opened, and I was able to easily acquire a ticket. And unlike in 2012, I made it to the My Little Pony panel. Which is rather odd compared to back in 2012. During that year, it was really hard to get into a My Little Pony panel due to how small the room was. I only made it in 2013 due to a lesson I learned, and I was able to attend the MLP panels since then. Recently, the panel got a little easier to get into. It was almost like you could just walk into the room, sit back, and enjoy the time there. The panelists all showed up: Tara, Tabitha, Andrea, Ashleigh, Cathy, Meghan, Mike and Daniel. Oh, and Liev Schreiber was there. All they showed was tidbits of the upcoming My Little Pony film. Not only did this feel alot like a classic Disney film, but the Storm King reminds me of Hades from Disney's Hercules. And yes, I did ask a silly question: What is your command, Storm King? XP Afterwards, I was able to reach the Autograph session. It took some time, but I was able to meet up with the voice cast. I gave out pictures, but I gave two very important ones to Tabitha and Cathy. The former was because of what happened back in January, when she had to miss a day due to having to have her appendix cut out. The latter is the same image I gave to Charlie Adler yesterday. Both enjoyed it. Afterwards, I was tired from going to panels. So I ate lunch, and went over to pick up something from Mattel(The Wonder Woman set from DC Superhero Girls), and went into the Nintendo Lounge. I was able to play a bit of Splatoon and Mario/Rabbids. The latter was alright, but I only got a small taste of it. I made a big mistake in the game, getting myself killed by a Rabbid Hulk. Oy vey. After eating dinner at the Manchester Hyatt, I returned to catch Batman and Harley Quinn. It's a fun nod to Batman: The Animated Series that's really funny to watch. Some parts remind me of the Adam West era Batman. And Melissa Rauch did a great job as Harley Qunn, right alongside Arleen Sorkin and Tara STrong. When I asked about Kevin and Loren paying tribute to Adam, Kevin gave a heartwarming story about his meeting with Adam West, how he got to work with him, how he was humble and was willing to let Kevin play the role. I admit, it brought a tear to my eye. Anyway, besides the Wonder Woman toy, I also got a Songbird Serenade pin and 2 Justice League/Power Rangers comics. The next 2 days will not be as exciting. But I gotta do this. It's Comic-Con after all. -

Comic-Con Day 1: Rockin it out in Room 6A
SaburoDaimando posted a blog entry in The Blog of a Bronicorn
So here it is. The first day of Comic-Con. And BOY Was it crowded or what. A majority of the Panels I went to today took place in Room 6A. A room that I will return to tomorrow for My Little Pony 1) Teen Titans Go: I know. It's not one of Warner Bros' best cartoons. But I went there just for the heck of it, and got to see one of the episodes "The Night Begins to Shine," and it looks like a fun nod to the 80s. Unfortunately, they only showed the first 3 parts of the episode. The final part is still unknown. Oh well, I'll see how it concludes in the future. My question, which involved having Tara invoke Harley Quinn, was if there will be an appearance by the Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill, and they may consider it. 2) Unikitty: I caught a bit of the animation after lunch. But it looks like something I may consider checking out. Only voice actor Eric Bauza showed up because Tara was at a signing for Teen Titans Go. But Tara will voice Unikitty while Eric will play one of the antagonists. My question was "Will there be an episode where Unikitty is angry cuz someone tipped over her chocolate milk?" They gave a subtle Yes. Which means, I want to see this episode. 3) Justice League Action: The panel I came for, BIGLY. They gave us not ONE, but TWO episodes. The first involved Robotic duplicates of Justice League Members Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Booster Gold stopping Darkseid from analyzing their combat data. The other invovled Booster Gold giving a Watch Tower tour to a small group that is really Toyman, Granny Goodness and....The Joker in disguise. My question was, "Will there be a crossover with other Warner Bros properties like Bugs Bunny or Scooby Doo? It might happen. Might. 4) Rocko's Modern Life: Another BIGLY one. They had all the original voices there: Carlos Alazraqui(Rocko), Tom Kenny(Heffer), Mr. Lawrence(Filbert) and especially Charlie Adler(The Bigheads and the Fatheads). There's a movie coming out next year called "Static Cling." It's mainly a take that towards modern day technologies like Smartphones and Taco Trucks. My question, after pretending to be a customer at a Fast Food Restaurant, was "If there was going to be a spin-off based on the Fatheads." Probably not. I later gave a picture to Charlie Adler, and he liked it. It features My Little Pony's Spike the Dragon. Both G1 and G4. I'll show you all later on. 5) Batman: Mask the Phantasm: Yes folks. This movie is getting a re-release on Blu-Ray. I saw this originally on DVD, and it's a pretty neat movie that encompasses what makes Batman great. I recommend giving it a shot when it comes out on Blu-Ray. Sadly, I did not get to ask a question, but I gave Kevin Conroy a piece of Batman art that I did. I did do some purchases between this and the final panel. They happen to be two Rocket League Car sets(One for me, one for my brother) from UCC Distributor, and from MAttel: Two Justice League Batmobiles(They were in Limited Quantity. That's why I bought two) and a Kylo Ren's STarfighter. I also checked out a bit of the Adobe's Character Animator, where they showed off simplifications of rigging a character to a skeleton, and utilizing pre-set cycles(Espeically Walk-cycles) to help get them moving. And yes, I have the program. Finally, I did check out the Adventures in Voice Acting panel. I do this every year in the event I get to try my luck as a Voice Actor. But alas, I never get picked. :(. I did, however, give the guest actor Robbie Daymond a copy of a drawing I did. Tomorrow's the big one. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. They're suppose to show off what's going on with the Movie and the rest of Season 7. If I get the chance, I'll talk about em. -
So preview night. What it is, it's basically a small taste of what is to come for the weekend. What to expect. Before I begin, I have some bad news. I'm afraid there is no My Little Pony exclusive this year from Hasbro. A disappointment from the house of Pony 10 years ago, preview night was not as crowded as it was now. Nowadays, it's a zoo to go to. People left and right going in line for the top exclusive, or to meet the guest there. I was able to meet with Katie Cook and Agnes Garboska, artists for the MLP IDW comic series. And I got them to draw a.variation of my original characters. I will show you when I get the chance. My purchases for the night? Only a shirt for mom and the drawings. Tomorrow, I have 4 panels in a row to go to. It will be busy, no doubt about it.

In the next few days, I will be going downtown to attend the San Diego Comic-Con. I've been doing this since 1999, and yes, I know ticket prices have gone up compared to years past. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it got up to $300 next year. However, before I talk about Comic-Con, lemme talk to you about my experience at this year's Wondercon. Unlike Comic-Con, Wondercon is a much smaller venue. Furthermore, it's located up in Anaheim, right next to Disneyland. I went up there with my dad on April 1st after my brother got me and him a Saturday pass each. There were only two panels I checked out. One is called "Quick Draw." This is where a number of artists like Scott Shaw, Sergio Aragones, and Floyd Norman go on stage to draw just for our entertainment. But right at the beginning of the panel, Sergio decided to draw a picture of him fearing Donald Trump. XP The other panel was a DC COmics Showcase, showing off upcoming films(Justice League and Wonder Woman) and Animation(Teen Titans: The Judas Contract). I wanted to ask an April Fool's Question up there, but I decided not to. One thing that I have noticed is that DC Comics is slowly starting to integrate itself more into Comic-Con and Wondercon. That's saying alot, considering that Disney often holds its own Convetion called D23. That's where many Disney, MArvel and Star Wars projects are shown off instead of Comic-Con. I wouldn't be surprised if Warner Bros bought out Comic-Con in the near future. Then it would be called the Warner Bros Comic-Con and the Wondercon would be called Warnercon. BTW, I thought Katie Cook was up in Wondercon, but I was mistaken. The only thing I bought was a My Little Pony comic. Anyway, enough talk. I gotta get ready for Comic-Con 2017.

For those of you that are coming to Comic-Con here in San Diego, Hasbro has its annual My Little Pony Panel on Friday July 21st. The panel will go from 10:30AM to 11:30AM in Room 6A. In addition to more news about Season 7 of My Little Pony, they will show off a bit of the upcoming movie due out this October. Your thoughts on the panel? I'm a tad bit disappointed because it's not in Ballroom 20 as opposed to Room 6A. Primarily because we HAVE a movie coming out this year. And there's a chance that, instead of the usual guests(Ex: Tabitha, Andrea, Ashleigh and Cathy), we have the movie guests(Ex: Emily Blunt, Michael Pena, Liev Schreiber) joining the panel.

I like that, along with A View to a Kill. Unfortunately, I learned last month that the singer responsible for You Know my Name, Chris Cornell, died of apparent suicide.

http://daimando.deviantart.com/art/Sunset-and-Starlight-The-Best-of-Friends-689345522 This is a bit of a rant as a My Little Pony fan: I hated the feuds between Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer fans(Especially on Derpibooru). I thought the series was suppose to be about Friendship, not who is best Twilight counterpart. So as a take that to the Sunset/Starlight feud, I did this drawing poking fun at it. Note: If I had enough room, Trixie would have been thrown in as well.

Since the recent release of the My Little Pony Trailer, I decided now was the time to work on my own My Little Pony Fan Trailer. The song attached to this is Fleetwood Mac. The inspiration came from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Trailer that used a more epic version of this song.

Possible Theme Ideas for Season 8
SaburoDaimando replied to Dark Qiviut's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
This is not for this season, but an ideal theme for a Final Season would be more of a final struggle against a foe unlike anything they've seen. Something like a great cataclysm that threatens to destroy Equestria. Where everyone is forced to unite against the great evil, and not just Equestria's allies, but also their enemies as well. A season that focuses on unity, that explores further into the minds of individuals pushing to preserve Equestria As for a future season, I would like to see a more Ensemble-focused Season. Give the Mane characters a bit of a break, and let the side characters have the fun. -
