Stopped watching Princess Spike during Act 1. I really wasn't liking how the episode treated him during his assignment.

This episode started with a plot that could have been avoided with better communication. It started like "Swarm of the Century", or (worse) "Games Ponies Play". Combine that with a typical Spike conflict and resolution, and you have a zero-sum game on this episode contributing anything except adorkable Twilight meme bait.
-
The annoying trend of dumbing down Spike as a bumbling idiot while ignoring his more thoughful/mature side continued in this episode though I am not all that surprised. It really seems like the writers aren't even trying with Spike which is a shame because he is a character with a great deal of potential.

The mass shooting in New Zealand yesterday is pure right-wing, white supremacy terrorism. People like Trump and their racist, threatening rhetoric are directly responsible for it and its increase over the past two-plus years.

@TwilySparky There's no "both sides" at all. Left-wing terrorism has declined following the Cold War. Right-wing terrorism, OTOH, has risen. Last year, white-supremacist propaganda activity rose by 182%, and almost all of the attacks were by right-wing extremists. Of the 313 killed last year by right-wing terrorism, more than 3/4 were by white supremacists.
QuoteQuite literally the other side of the world, why even bring Trump into it?
The terrorist himself, a hardened Trump supporter, credited him (along with Brevik) for the creation of his neo-Nazi manifesto and the extreme ideology he embodies and practices.
Quotebut calling him a "white supremacist" and part of the "alt-right" is just flat out wrong.
Wrong.
- Intentionally stokes the fear and hatred of minorities, notably Latinos and Muslims. His travel ban, border wall, and crusade against sanctuary cities are all prime examples.
- Referred to Haiti and African countries (predominant homes of people of color) as shitholes.
- Completely ignores the Latino-dominant Puerto Rico, which is still struggling following Maria.
- Directed the rise of birtherism by accusing Obama of not being a naturalized citizen.
- Nominated Jeff Sessions, one of the most conservative Republicans, who continued to stoke the War on Drugs and voted "no" to the Civil Right.
- Trusts the words of white-supremacist pundits and "reporters" from Fox News over his own intel.
- Downplays and reluctantly condemns white supremacists, and there's a big reason why. White supremacists and right-wing Republicans (most of them Caucasian) ARE his base!
- Intentionally attacks the media/press as the enemy of the people, an authoritarian tactic. His administration also made Wikileaks a hostile intelligence agency.
- Recently issued violent rhetoric while interviewed by Breitbart.
- His racism and bigotry as a whole empower white supremacists to be more open in what they say and how they act. Trump gives them a platform.
Trump is the face of the cult-right, the face of the Republican Party, and is a white supremacist, period.

Yeah... no. You are dead wrong with that. Antifa and the Black Lives Matter terrorist groups are examples of far-left organizations.
QuoteRight-wing terrorism, OTOH, has risen. Last year, white-supremacist propaganda activity rose by 182%, and almost all of the attacks were by right-wing extremists.
Honestly, I can't take that "evidence" since it's from the ADL. The ADL is pretty heavily biased even saying that milk and the ok hand sign are hate symbols which is absolutely ridicolous.
QuoteOf the 313 killed last year by right-wing terrorism, more than 3/4 were by white supremacists.
I really want to know where you get this evidence from. I would like to see evidence based on sources that are as unbiased. Hell, show me some statistic and I'll be happy.
QuoteThe terrorist himself, a hardened Trump supporter, credited him (along with Brevik) for the creation of his neo-Nazi manifesto and the extreme ideology he embodies and practices.
A hardended Trump supporter? Where did you get this from? I have heard of him crediting Brevik but I don't know where it says anything about Trump. Plus, he expliciting states in his manifesto that does associate himself with neo-nazis and that he calls him an eco-fascist. Yes, his manifesto might have some strange views in there but please at least try to skim through before false information like that is spread.
Quotetravel ban
Obama had a travel ban. One that lasted for 6 months mind you.
Quoteborder wall
Yeah, his border wall idea is a bit botched but it is a good idea if done the right way. Take this anyway you want but a bunch of mexicans trying to get over the border and getting into America without being legal is a big no no. Mexicans as is every other race and people from different countries need to go through the process of becoming a legal citizen. Yes, this can takes years at times, but it is the only way to do it legally.
Quotecrusade against sanctuary cities are all prime examples.
Sancutary cities that host a bunch of illegal immigrants. These people are in the United State of America illegally.
QuoteReferred to Haiti and African countries (predominant homes of people of color) as shitholes.
I wouldn't exactly call them shitholes but it is well known that African countries are among the poorest countries in the world. Yes, they are still developing and won't be as much of a "shithole" eventually.
QuoteTrusts the words of white-supremacist pundits and "reporters" from Fox News over his own intel.
Honestly, I would like to see evidence that backs this up.
QuoteDownplays and reluctantly condemns white supremacists, and there's a big reason why. White supremacists and right-wing Republicans (most of them Caucasian) ARE his base!
Reluctantly condemns white supremacy? I'm pretty sure he fully codemns white supremacy. If he were in any supporting white supremacy, I think he be out of office by now.
QuoteHis racism and bigotry as a whole empowers white supremacists to be more open in what they say and how they act. Trump gives them a platform.
I still personally wouldn't call him a racist though. Yes, he is a loud mouth and has said some really stupid shit, but I wouldn't say it's in a "racist" manner. The thing with Trump and white supremacy is that most actual white supremacist and neo-nazis condemn Trump due his association with Israel.
-
- Antifa isn't merely not a terrorist organization. It's not an organization at all. It's a catch-all term for anti-fascist, usually from the anarchist spectrum. Antifa is an ideology, not a group.
- BLM isn't a terrorist organization, either. It has continued to expose what it's been doing since the start of the decade: the systemic racism against African-Americans, from militarization of police to police brutality of AAs, to the disappearance of black wealth following Wall Street's collapse, to conservative District Attorneys persecuting people of color, to redlining. The right-wing slander of BLM is based on lies and misinformation.
QuoteI really want to know where you get this evidence from.
It's in the second link (an ADL PDF) in my status reply.
And I have severe disagreements with the ADL (its unwavering support of Israel, opposition of BDS, and recent vile smearing of Ilhan Omar *thumbs down*), but when it comes to researching hate crimes and domestic terrorism, they're usually thorough and on the mark.
QuoteA hardended Trump supporter? Where did you get this from?
From reports of the manifesto itself. Here and here are two of 'em.
QuoteObama had a travel ban. One that lasted for 6 months mind you.
QuoteYeah, his border wall idea is a bit botched but it is a good idea if done the right way.
-
The border wall is a gigantic waste of finance based on right-wing, nationalistic propaganda. We have no business turning people escaping tyranny and hopelessness from their home countries away. They deserve the right to step in this country, take refuge ("legally" or "illegally"), seek asylum, and become citizens.
What determines a good country is their ability to help the most vulnerable. Demonizing their citizen status, splitting families apart, snatching babies from their parents, locking them up in concentration camps and for-profit prisons, and using the rogue ICE to terrorize communities contradicts the humane values a good country SHOULD stand for. - Most undocumented immigration doesn't come from escaping Mexico. Where does it mostly come from? Overstayed visas. Building a neo-Berlin Wall won't solve anything.
We should be building bridges, both figuratively and literally, instead.
QuoteHonestly, I would like to see evidence that backs this up.
- Fox News is his favorite channel, watches it all the time, and references it often in his tweets.
- Trump shut down the government after big-named Fox News pundits unleashed heat on the president for considering to sign a bipartisan bill that didn't have a border wall budget.
- Trump's lack of trust with intel is deep. And after intel concluded that Saudi Arabia plotted to assassinate Jamal Khashoggi, he chose to remain allied with Saudi Arabia.
QuoteReluctantly condemns white supremacy?
Yes. His condemnations of white supremacy are much softer than condemnations of Ilhan Omar, black football players who kneel during the anthem, "illegal" immigrants, and Muslims, to name a few. White supremacists are his primary base, and he panders to them in his rallies; that is a fact.
QuoteI still personally wouldn't call him a racist though.
He absolutely is a racist, and all his actions back it up.

Of all the memes and trendy reference jokes used in PPG 2016 thus far, what's the worst one? I'm going with Bubbles's "No Me Gusta."

Over time, episodes I once hated I don't anymore. Today, I only hate a select few:
S1: Owl's Well.
S2: Mare Do Well. (First one I hated. Still do. No longer hate Hearts & Hooves Day.)
S3: Crystal Empire. It's been years since I hated Just for Sidekicks.
S4: Rainbow Fails. Not Somepony to Watch Over Me anymore, but I still really dislike it.
S5: Princess Spike. Tanks for the Memories I never hated, but I'm really insulted by it.
S6: ND, Flutter Brutter, PPOV. Not No Second Prances anymore.
S7: Fame & Misfortune. No longer hate Hard to Say Anything and Honest Apple, but my dislike for A Royal Problem has grown over time.

@Dark Qiviut I already forgot why I hated my hated lists in the place. Only good stuffs will remain in my memories soon
I already like Flight to Finish in my first viewing. This ep and Rarity Takes in Manehattan are two first episodes that i take this show more seriously. In the first 3 seasons, i watched ponies just for laugh and curiosity but after Flight and Manehattan, i'm invested for this show.

Derpibooru comment with some bad news.
QuoteBad news guys: episode 13 [Between Dark and Dawn] won’t be available in English anytime soon. Sky, the service from which Loonex extrapolated the English audio of the episodes, removed all the eps of S9 from the service, included the last one. In other words forget about getting the English version of ep 13 for the moment, you’ll have to wait the airing on DF… amen to that.
Well, that sucks.

@TheAnimationFanatic I don't think that's a credible source.
If you check the weekend of June 1-2 on TV Passport, you'll see that only one new episode is airing that weekend.

Fan complaints of an OC being a "Mary Sue" are so cliché, dumb, and misogynistic. God forbid a female OC is actually good at a thing or three!

@TomDaBombMLP Whoa! Really cool!

Adding more off topic. Yesterday I got "Tangled" on Blu-Ray at a thrift store. It's still sealed, brand new, and I got it for $2 bucks!
I deleted my
illegaldownload. Now I just need the whole series on Blu-Ray!
(Also got the first and second season of The Regular Show, box set, used, on DVD, for $1)
I hardly know about The Regular Show, but Eileen is such a sweetheart!

Flutter Brutter: Halway done, toughest episode I ever had to watch. Moreso than Princess Spike.

Time to give grades (including a change for one):

@Mesme Rize Wait two weeks. You'll really like Surf.

@Mesme Rize I have seen the leaks too. All of them are at least good except one dud. A good portion of the leaks I would even put into the “excellent” tier.

I know season four is my least favorite FIM season, but I'm don't know which is worse: season three because half the episodes are plain bad (four being godawful), or season four because its many really bad writing habits persisted throughout and affected many episodes.

The Cart Before the Ponies sucked. It sucked just as much as Stranger Than Fan Fiction.

Time flies, doesn't it? Today is the tenth anniversary I became a brony.

@Dark Qiviut That clip is hilarious! 'I can see the food situation is f****d so we'll be on our way.' Or Twilight actually twice saying 'Shoot' becoming 'Sh*t.'
My second anniversary was only last May. You're lucky to have been around during the peak. Looks like so much fun looking back.

My first MLP video was "Epic Pie Time" by Alligator in the Tub Productions.

I still can't effing stand Sheldon Pony (and his "technically" gag is painfully unfunny), and having two Mauds is too much (especially since I'm not a big fan of her or her humor), but Pinkie's behavior was understandable, and the metaphor taught by her two other sisters is really well-done. It has a great lesson of appreciating people beyond the outside and learning why folks like them when you don't. Act 3 really saved this piece from totally cringeworthy.
I don't know where I'll place it as a grade, but it could likely be somewhere in the middle. B-/C+, perhaps.

@Sparklefan1234 I wanted to like the show and gave it many many tries but I ended up hating it every single time. So I definitely fall into the first one.
You are probably the same thing.
-
Probably.
I manily disliked the episode for the "Technically..." "joke"
& the fact that Pinkie Pie was "loud & obnoxious Pinkie Pie" which, is my least favorite kind of Pinkie.
-
For season six to meander in mediocrity since The Saddle Row Review after a very strong start's sad.

If I took my brony ball and went home at any point, I would’ve missed out on some of the best episodes of the show.

@Dark Qiviut They should have made "cupcakes" a banned word. That would've been clever.

@Sparklefan1234 That woulda been such a hilarious reference. XD

"Viewer's discretion is advised" should've been replaced with "Viewer's intelligence will be dumbed down" before the Katie Vick "tape" starts playing.

Any of the SJWs who bullied Zamii to the point of attempting suicide are disgusting. Any Anti-SJW who bullies and sends death threats to a 14/15-year-old is no less disgusting.

For a long time, I thought Rainbow Falls was FIM's worst written episode. PPOV's writing far, far worse.

@VG: Mostly because the characterization of everyone minus Spike and Twilight were arguably worse here than in RF. The worst of them all is AJ (her worst appearance of the show by far) for outwardly lying just to spite Rarity and Pinkie (while not helping Twilight at all), completely casting Pinkie as an idiot who can't tell what's the sky or the ground, and Rarity as a stereotypical rich bitch.

Snowdrop isn't even a canon character, and she's my most favorite MLP:FIM filly.

Josh Scorcher had enough of Lily's attacks and sent her a C&D yesterday, mandating she (and her brainwashed cult) stop libeling, cyberbullying, and harassing him, or expect legal action.
Of course, Lily and her overinflated ego won't comply (and published the C&D linked above).

@Nyactis Mewcis Catlum And Josh is, in fact, a former Marine. Clip below (recorded by his father) is his promotion to Corporal.

I think I actually watched that video where Lily called Josh a "Fake Marine".
Wow.
I can't remember if I heard it in the last couple months but I know I've heard Lily say that recently.

I’m still pretty apprehensive toward Pony Life. However, each promotional image released these last few days…don’t you feel like they’re part of the same episode?

No-hitter for Clayton Kershaw!!!

"Rarity: Don't even think about it! You're already trying to get her crown. Who knows what Sunset Shimmer would do if you ended up getting her ex-boyfriend too?" *cringes* Thanks, Rarity, for uttering the stupidest line in the movie and (inadvertently) discrediting Flash AND Sunset even further.

The Confederate monuments don't belong anywhere except in front of a museum. Not in the middle of streets. Not in a school. And especially not near courthouses. It's downright stupid that these statues are commemorated and celebrated, when they do nothing but revise history, hide the truth, and whitewash the Confederacy. Mayor Landrieu delivered an excellent speech explaining why they must come down.
However, there's one I'm downright against taking down: the Confederate memorial on Stone Mountain.
(Image from Wikipedia.)
I hate this sculpture. It should never have been carved in the first place. But if you destroy that sculpture, you continue to destroy that mountain.
Monuments and statues are replaceable. Mountains aren't.

Well, these sorts of things happen when the people are unhappy, recent events have not put the biggest of smiles on people, in and out of America. And when you have unhappy people unhappy things start to happen, Trump seems to just be brushing the unhappy people off and they've had enough. Trump needs to cater to the needs of all Americans as best he can, but he's very one sided throughout his time in office.
