  1. Anybody played A Link Between Worlds? Yuuga, full stop. I don't care that it's constantly referred to as he. I don't care if they were purposefully going for an effeminate style. Have you seen his design? Have you heard his voice? Let me tell you, I'm making aneffort to make sure I refer to him as a he in here. No, I refuse to believe Yuuga is, or ever was, a guy. He is a she. Period. Also, I thought Babs Seed was a guy. The haircut. The voice. Having been the subject of bullying, I'd say even her style of tormenting the Crusaders is boyish. I know it's ostensibly a little girl's show, but I really think they missed the chance to add.more males to the cast, seeing as there's so paltry few. Or maybe they were makings a point that girls could be bullies too. I don't know, I still check myself when referring to her.
  2. My Little Pony. Using a variety of musical stylings to get their point across. Pinkie Pie rapping nearly had me laughing out loud because it was so out of the blue... and yet oddly fitting. Just wait. Give them a few episodes and we might see Twilight rocking some dubstep. We also learned that if Applejack needs to study, she fresh out of luck. Though how in hoof Rarity can study is beyond me. Learning through fashion?! I know clothes are your thing but no one does that. I was more confused by that method than Dash was by Fluttershy's interpretive play. Ending was a little more heavy handed than I would've liked. Fluttershy and Rarity acting out the banishment? Good. Pinkie Pie pretending to be General Fairy Fly(?) with obvious name drop? A little much but I can deal. Random ponies flying about with nothing but a name drop? Ok, now that's just silly. ...What? Look, just because they spent the whole time teaching Rainbow Dash doesn't mean I got all the details. I more subscribe to Twilight's style: lectures and especially reading (no highlighting though). Throwing names at a wall and seeing if they stick ain't really my style.
  3. Soooo... fedoras are a viable search criteria? I'll admit, I've met a brony with a fedora but he was easy to tell because he had a Rainbow Dash button pinned on it. But this does bring up an interesting question. What is the appeal of MLP that draws us? What is it between anime, manga, and video games that pulls us to the show? Doesn't make my job easier. My major is in Game Art and Simulation, finding a person without those traits is nearly impossible among my classmates. Naturally, some of them are obvious bronies. I don't know, maybe it was the Rainbow Dash & Derpy Hooves bag that gave me the hint.
  4. A tricky question, at least for me. On the pro-Equestria side, having a Cutie Mark would be a great boon. Just look at your bum and you can get a hint of what to do. Plus, I love magic of just about any form so it a tremendous luxury if I'm a unicorn, though being an Earth Pony wouldn't completely disclude it, I saw Apple Bloom mixing potions. The folks all seem more genial and friendly, so even given the high likelihood of not meeting any known characters (unless you're in Ponyville), the folks would still be more amiable in my opinion. And I'd say that Celestia and Luna are immensely more involved and personal with citizens than, say, Obama or even my town's governor. But there are reasons on the pro-reality side too. My joy lies in drawing and writing, and while my mind may not suffer, my skill with quill and ink are lacking, nevermind most likely having to use my mouth. And I'm intensely curious and rooted in the techno-age. I can't last two days without checking one of the multitude of forums I'm in. Plus, I've grown way to accustomed to being able to find whatever mind fancies on Google. And unfortunately, I'm rather slothful and avoid most physical activity. All in all, like most continuities, I love looking from the outside in but unless I was pretty much born and raised there, I doubt I could thrive. But if I did grow up there, who knows how it might have affected my outlook. Perhaps were the tables turned, I.would be a pony contemplating the benefits of being human.
  5. Here I was getting upset because I thought my character hadn't been looked at. My apologies for getting all worked up over nothing. I've changed the wording of Celestia's part in the personalitt, omitting her in favor of a more amorphous threat. And I also fixed some spelling mistakes that escaped my attention last time through. Eh heh heh. As much as I'd like to offer a picture to give you a good idea of what I'm imagining, alas, I cannot. I can barely gain access to computers as is (I'm currently using my phone) much less get Photoshop and use it. And I don't have ready access to a scanner either. Unless someone was willing to draw her for me or do commission, then she remains unseen save in the mind of the beholder. Once again, sorry for the prolonged wait.
  6. Good god, Pokemon! Though the focus is mainly on the actual games, not the blasphemous anime or the TCG or really even the manga. But to that point, I probably know absurdly too much about the games. Every Pokemon, their evolutions, their Generation, plot, little bits of trivia. I'm not the Moderator and Acting Administrator on the 2nd most posted in Pokemon forum on Fanfiction for nothing. I probably know more than I really should.
  7. Gee, seems to be a real big hate against anime here. Unless is correct and it's all good natured fun, although I'm in doubt due to the number of similar comments. For some reason, I find this odd. Of course, this might be because I'm an avid and open otaku (manga/anime enthusiast) but a closet brony. Now I can't necessarily argue against the cliches, even my favorites have their fair share of fanservice and of course there's the action, that's part of why I love them. That being said, they're two separate fandoms. I like Code Geass, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Eureka 7. Strong storylines that have things you won't notice til later with interesting characters and awesome fight scenes. And usually they're a little dark. MLP is a whole different animal, with a less linear episodic episodes (you don't need to watch them in order, less combat, and a much cheerier tone than a story about two youths trying to change the world but by different means in a pessimistic setting. Were MLP an anime, I imagine it would be more like Yotsuba+ or Azumanga Daioh. Younger characters, not that you could necessarily tell by looks, going on multiple semi-connected adventures with the occasional use of the Elements. Sounds slightly similar but I imagine that it would be more boring than the original. Slice of Life animes aren't quite tge same as thnes. All in all, MLP is still better off as is, not because of possible anti-femitism or more fanservice of a different variety, but because it would lessen the more focused nature of it.
  8. Absolutely. Pokemon, as great of games as they are, is mired in tradition with no big changes before this. Before Fairy type, I think the biggest change was separating moves into Special and Physical based on what they do rather than type and that was R/S/E, three generations ago now. Not only was it a major change-up, but it also weakened the also extremely powerful Fighting types as well as giving Poison types more than niche positions. I approve of the change wholeheartedly.
  9. A Pepsi-Cola vintage tee and black plaid shorts. Why do I see a lot of naked people on here? Is that the new thing? Foruming in the nude?
  10. Personally, Twilight is my least favorite of the Mane 6, although this by no means is the same as me hating her. In fact, I'd probably get along with her most IRL. But she doesn't seem to have a flaw. All the other ponies have something about them that's a bit detrimental, something that makes them more rounded out. Rarity (best pony) is vain, Applejack is stubborn, Fluttershy is shy (*gasp*), Rainbow Dash is cocky and arrogant, Pinkie Pie is hyper. What is Twilight? A little OCD? Hardly that big of a flaw, we have to have specific episodes (Lesson Zero and that time traveling one) to even show this as a problem, while the other characters are shown this naturally without needing to be the focus of an episode. That being said, I hardly would advocate a return to G1, even if I know absolutely nothing about it. Twilight isn't a bad character, I still love her, she's just too normal for her to be in the rankings.

  12. I was undergoing job training at Taco Bell when I noticed that the end of every training vid was called Wrap Up. And it's winter. Guess I was having a little something of my own Winter Wrap-up.

  13. I can't sa what accent I have. Since I'm from the South (East Texas to be exact), I put I have a Southern accent because I figured I probably have some of that anyways even if I can't hear it myself. But I've had people ask me if I'm from Britain or New York because of whatever accent I do have. I don't think it would be from those places, though, because I've never really been out of Texas. What I can say is that I try to speak proper-like but have a terrible tendency to not annunciate, speaking a bit fast but not opening my mouth enough if that makes any sense. I also seem to pronounce things wrong, like saying gauge like GOt instead of GAY.
  14. No. No more tentacles. There's enough of them as is. I don't know. I kinda thought it was like his prison. Like with Yggdrassil, using its root system as a prison. And now that Discord has manipulated them into removing the flower, it would've wrecked havoc on Equestria.
  15. I had never seen EG so I didn't realize who it was at first. I was more curious about why he wasn't glittery if he was from the Crystal Empire. And since I have a blacksmith OC in Equestrian Empire, I was also wondering if his armor was gold, bronze, or something else. After finding out who he was, I took as a definite show that the movie was noncanon. After all, Twily didn't react to him and he didn't react to the newly anointed princess.
  16. I felt this episode was... very lackluster. Just a bunch of filler. There was too much Discord with little else. I was kinda hoping to see more Twilight-Cadence or Cadence-Discord. But nope, just Discord, Discord, and more Discord-Twilight. I'm a bit sour about them sending the rest of the cast away for the duration of the episode. And it's clear that Fluttershy is Discord's only real friend. The other 5 are very distrustful, expecting him to be up to something nefarious. And dang it, rightfully so! Judging from his sulk at the end, this had less to do with testing their friendship and more with corrupting it. C'mon, you saw his surprise at not messing up their plan! Plus I didn't really care for the song. Still, it was good to see Cadence in a setting where she doesn't have to act as a Princess. And I did enjoy some of the sight gags, like poor Bon Bon's house floating away after Discord's sneeze and the serious need of a fainting couch. I don't hate it but so far, it's my least favorite of the season.
  17. I know I'm gonna hate myself for replying here because now anytime anyone replies here, I'm going to here about it. Apples to the Core by The Apple Family. I was initially meh with the song but it really grew on me. And now I haven't been able to get it out of my head for a solid week now. It has to be those harmonious accents, my mind keeps focusing on the chorus where Applejack and Apple Bloom sing the "more" together. It's cute, sounds good, and has so much of that country accent.
  18. @@Seaweed I'll have to check. There's also a music store next to them, can't remember the name though. You could probably very loosely connect it to Vinyl Scratch and/or Octavia but I probably wouldn't take note of it if it weren't for the two other stores. @@Muffin_bag123 I don't think I'm familiar with that Aesop. Mind if I ask for a summary? If ypu wouldn't mind.
  19. So... I can't actually enter because the admin is gone? Why is it that admins never actually stick around to monitor their creations? So is there like a bypass so I can still join? In one of my other forums, characters are temporarily accepted after I believe 3 days so that the forum can continue on even when the moderators are temporarily absent
  20. Character Name: Attila Cartwright Pokemon Half: Electabuzz Age: 17 Gender: Male Appearance: Tall, muscular, and energetic, Attila fits the bill of a jock. His arms are well muscled and a six pack you could grate cheese on. He appears to have tatoos all over his body, though these are au naturale and perfectly match up with the designs of his other half. He seems somewhat feline, with a furry tail with a mind of its own and cute fangs that protrude even when his mouth is closed. Rather than ears, he has an Electabuzz's antennas popping out the top of his head. Aside from his more animalistic features, he normally ways a tight T-shirt that does little to hide his musculature and boot-cut jeans. He sports a dark black fohawk and blue eyes. Personality: Attila seems fairly typical for his appearance. He loves sports but is a little lacking in the scholastic department. But while he can be slow on the pickup, he has a good sense of humor and enjoys a good prank. When I say he likes sports, it goes beyond just the known ones. He treats everything as a competition. It's actually a good way to get him to focus on something. Now despite his given characteristics, he actually is genial. He means well is enjoys greeting others. Be warned though. He's a very physical friend and pushy when it comes to convincing people to do things. Dorm #: 9 Classes: Battle, Athletics, Physics, Geography Notes: he's inherited two things from his species. He loves going out in storms and climbing high places to catch lightning. He also normally first greets people by grabbing ahold of them and sending a small current through them. However, this often doesn't work and results in the recipient receiving a minor jolt.
  21. @@Blue That's the spirit, although I think that's ponies referencing the parable rather than the other way around. The Lion and the Mouse is a well-known fable attributed to Aesop, though I think there's several iterations of it. Basically, a mouse manages to become friends with the lion who was about to eat it by taking a thorn from its paw. The lesson being a little kindness goes a long way or something like that. Still counts though because I never specified which way the references had to go and it's nice to find out about the source material. Well, Pinkie Pie's Boutique specializes in women clothing and it shares the last name. Can't say more, though, because I've never actually entered the place. I'll keep you updated if anything shows up. Unfortunately, my pictures I took with my phone were crap.
  22. I'm not seeing what you guys are talking about. These articles aren't lambasting the fandom. They are questioning why there's a large dislike for it and how media is using I to create controversy. From where I'm looking, they actually aren't expressing in like or dislike over it. The sentences you're focusing on are meant as humor, kinda like the stuff you'd see on Cracked.com. They aren't any more derogatory than the digs at Frisbee Golf and obsessing over violins. If you ask me, there's no harm in the articles.
  23. Just a topic where you can post and talk about things you saw in other media or IRL that could be any of the titular things. I'll go first. There's a town near me by the name of Lindale, it's only a couple miles away. For a while now, they've had a store called Pinkie Pie's Boutique. Even before I was a brony, I questioned whether the owners knew about MLP or if this was serendipity. So today, I'm driving through town on my way to a job interview. The shop is right on the corner where a red light is, so while I'm stopped there, I casually look out my window. That's when I notice that a new business has opened up next door to it. Fatt Apple Catering, with a big red apple emblazoned on the window. Fatt Apple Catering right next door to Pinkie Pie's Boutique. Is this merely coincidence or are these business owners doing it intentionally? I'll see if I can't get a picture later.
