    Since I was running low on Sentai and Rider, let's turn back time. It's 1982, and it's the birth of a new kind of tokusatsu franchise known as the Metal Heroes. And here is the first one to kick it off; the granddaddy of them all, Space Sheriff Gavan! Defending the universe against an evil space mafia, Gavan faces some crazy, reality-warping threats and supernatural dangers. His shining, all-silver suit is very striking. In more recent years, Gavan had a Type II successor; and we may be seeing the passing of the torch here in the future. Decades may have passed, but we have not forgotten Gavan.

    Spoiler

    The first is the Type G mix from 2012. Gavan passed the torch to someone younger and revived the franchise for a new generation. It's still sung by the legendary Akira, but now it has a more hgih-tech industrial sound.

    And here the 21st Century Version. It pays closer homage to the original, while still throwing in some new twists here and there.

    And to think I was having such a good night too...

    I received some some bad news tonight. My mother has been waiting on another operation that might actually fix her health problems a bit more effectively. It was scheduled for noon on Friday. And then, at the last moment, guess what happened.
    The doctor called and canceled, saying they won't be able to be there. They'll have to reschedule.

    I just feel so bad for my mother. She was SO CLOSE to the finish line! She shouldn't have to be suffering in pain even longer.

    Maybe if we are lucky, things will change for the better soon. For now, please keep my mother in your thoughts and prayers. She needs all the help she can get.
