Hey there, my crowd!  Ouchies galore.

 For the most part, I had a good week, but the ending was kind of rough. I saw a dentist about a tooth, got a simple diagnosis. However, they can't put a crown on my tooth until I get a medical all-clear on my blood pressure. Problem is, I don't have health care, and I can't apply for it until November for some reason. I tried going in to a walk-in clinic, but they were of no help. Over $100 wasted for nothing.  I can't afford to wait on this. Guess I'll have to front all the bills up.

 KAMEN RIDER ZEZTZ 01: Mission Realized!  In some ways, I am a little disappointed. I was hoping that we might get a dub or a television premiere. However, it could have been worse. I had to see this because Zeztz made Kamen Rider history by being the first Kamen Rider to get a (mostly) international simulcast! And with Shout Factory at the helm, not only are we getting a quality translation, but just as I hoped, Shout is practically finding reasons to keep these episodes in rotation as much as they can get away with. Though, that might change the more episodes pile up. We need to see if we can get past the 2 episode curse since all this is happening on YouTube right now. As for the episode... It was great! Far better than I was truly expecting. I have so many thoughts, but I want to wait until the 2nd episode to really see how this story will unfold. For now, they really came out swinging with this show.

 MOVIE TIME!  I saw "Scoob!"! This movie is okay, I guess. Not quite the experience I was hoping for. I heard that this failed to launch a cinematic Hanna-Barbera universe because the people at Warner Bros. keep undercutting animation. However, if there is any reason why the movie failed in terms of audience reception, it's because this movie is too divided. It is trying to tell both a Scooby-Doo story and a Blue Falcon story, ultimately keeping us from truly bonding with any of these characters. Big character moments don't feel fully deserved. This movie should have been focused only on the Mystery Inc gang, and Blue Falcon should have been a speaking-role cameo at best; a teaser for a Blue Falcon movie. Makes me sad seeing all the easter egg cameos of other HB characters; because now we don't know if we'll ever get any of this. ...And why is this the 2nd kids movie in a row to use the Marvin Gaye song?

It's not-exactly 2017, and it's rare to see shows that compliment each other in such unexpected ways. Both have a silly premise at the start, yet become so much more as the story goes on. Ex-Aid is all about doctors bonding with video game avatars to become super heroes. KyuRanger takes off to space, with a mission to set the record for the must number of heroes in one team. The saddest part of KyuRanger is how it was handled in the west. Not only was it the last adaptation before the Power Rangers brand unexpectedly died, but it was given a chop job worse than DaiRanger (if you know, you know).
