  1. The mirror is opened for three days, but Twilight only had two days when she entered it. I think Sunset used the first day to scout around the crystal empire and see Twilight and her element.
  2. Anything can work as a visual novel. If talking pigeons, fox-ladies, and John Cena can, I don't see why EqG can't
  3. They should haved talked to eachother more. They all have great personalities(well Sunny Flare barely...), I want to see more of their group dynamic. Perhaps in a TV series, we can bring them, and even the Dazzlings back to learn more about them lol.
  4. I feel the strongest episodes of Friendship is Magic are the Slice-of-Life episodes(Hurricane Fluttershy,Testing Testing 123,etc). Currently I feel Rainbow Rocks did better than most of the action/drama episodes, especially in the villain department and the ability to give someone other than Twilight a chance to shine. I think it would be cool to see how the series would do slice of life differently than the main show and we'd need a TV show for that. I wonder how Human Rainbow Dash would handle Tank's hibernation for example, lol.
  5. On the contrary, Pop and Rock are the music genres with widest appeal. and EqG pretty much owns the former to a "T" in this relation.
  6. Theres a difference between looking like Monster High, and acting like Monster High. not even the first movie reached that level of stereotypical girl things..
  7. The name, lol. "Equestria Girls" sounds stereotypically girly in the same way " My Little Pony" sounds like it's for babies. But I guess there is a charm in this...
  8. From a financial point-of-view, them not being ponies is a big pro. The little girls watching and buying the toys will inevitably grow up, and there will come a point in their lives where ponies stop being a "thing" to fantasize about. That is why you see stuff like Monster High more popular with teenagers and the like, as it's more relatable to that point in their lives(middle school, high school, etc). As much as I hate so say it, Hasbro is run on the success of their toys, and I feel Equestria Girls has a better reach in regard to a growing demographic, as well as the target one for FiM(and you have to admit after 5 years must be getting pretty old by now) And I disagree when you say much of the fantasy can't work, as more and more magic from equestria is pushing through into the human world(to the point where it seems to be a huge plot point in Friendship Games.) It's the same as saying fantasy can't work in Persona 4, because that is set in a generic world
  9. I think they are equal, at this point of time, but EqG has a lot of potential to get even better, while FiM, feels like we have already seen the best it has to offer.
  10. You might make a point, but your list is really silly and doesn't help you, lol. The only point you can make is that they both are about a school event with a villain twist, but thats all you can really say.. The themes are different, and the character conflicts can't really be compared in the same way.
  11. I'm all up for a summer camping movie, if they get to go swimming in a lake wearing delightfully modest swimsuits
  12. What do you mean target specifically? Didn't she make everyone's lives at the school a nightmare? Plus they were the model group of friends that helped raise Canterlot high spirit, so their would be a vested interest in taking them down.
  13. I think your right and I wish they would have built more of the sports up, besides a single race. Have the rest of the main six compete, and give Spike's problem to Fluttershy would have been great. and that's what Friendship Games seems to be doing, so yay. We'll see. Also, I highly recommend reading the Equestria Girls 2013 annual as it writes the canterlot high friends really well, from Applejack being ostracized for being "too southern", to Fluttershy being bullied and becoming lonely. It gives each of them a conflict unique to the human setting. There is a youtube video thay plays music over the whole thing, it makes it feel immersive and made me love the franchise even before rainbow rocks
  14. But then you open a risk of an season wide arc not really culminating to anything amazing, like the Equestria Games. Numerous episodes building up to it, only for the finale to be a Spike episode with the games barely being in it. You can't compare these arcs to Rainbow Rocks, I agree. It's more similar to the Two-parters which are almost required to be focused in telling a story between to episodes. What would happen if the second part of Twilight's Kingdom suddenly became a comedy? And Sailor Moon, Buffy,Supernatural, Persona and every other piece of fiction where there is a supernatural element in a ordinary setting would be bland witho said supernatural element. It's a major focus of the stories and it's pointless to disregard it.
  15. That is why, as far as the writing goes, I compare Rainbow Rock to the non-slice of life, such as Twilight's Kingdom, Return of Harmony, and Canterlot Wedding. I actually think Rainbow rocks did many things just as good, if not, better than those episodes. -I think the Dazzlings are one of the more better villains of the series in how they were able to interact and be in struggle for power with the main characters. There were times when they seemed like they'd win, and they got to that point using their own cunningness, and not having god-like powers like Tirek or Discord. -Speaking of Discord, I think the Dazzlings did a better job in getting the humane six to argue and fight. They pushed them to that point in a more believable way, while Discord just taps their forehead and puts them under a spell.. It makes that moment where Sunset Shimmer brings them together more heartwearming compared to RoH, because she didn't just undo the spell like Twilight did, but connected to them on a deeper, empathetic level. It was much more believable in my opinion. -Speaking of Sunset, she is one of the series' most interesting characters, and her chemistry with Twilight was amazing, almost yin and yang with each other(dat kitchen scene). They both struggled with expectations placed on them, but in different ways. Her past as a former villain(despite how bad she was at being one) really gives her a form of drive in wanting to redeem herself, that makes her more interesting than MAYBE even Twilight at times... -And people say the Canterlot High friends were one dimensional, but I don't see how different they were compared to Twilight's Kingdom , Princess Twilight. and many of the two parters. Twilight has always had the more focus put on her than her friends during these episodes. They shine more in a slice of life setting, which Equestria girls isn't, yet ,
  16. I feel Friendship Is Magic is winding down for me, and Equestria Girls just feels more fresher, and am more exciting of all the possibilities they can introduce in it.
  17. It would be so weird to seeing them in live action. Their hair would be very hard to do without looking dumb, and their skin color would make them look like aliens.
  18. People keep saying to bring Sunset to Equestria, but I think they are planning on bringing Equestria to Sunset, and I'm sure Alternate Twilight will have a hand in doing that in the movie.. In seriousness, magic was her talent, and I feel she is homesick for that more than Equestria. They should bring more magic into the human world, so Sunset can task herself with managing it.
  19. I think there is a Human Sunset, and maybe the world's final test would be to have her befriend herself. It's pretty poetic. As for where she is, she could be at Crystal Prep with that "Better than everyone else" attitude everyone else in there seems to have.
  20. Man wish I joined this convo earlier. I like to think of the Human World as the reflection of the current state of Equestria. And as a result has no unique past. -If Granny Smith in her youth were to go through the mirror, she would be at Canterlot High as a student, and Celestia would still be the principle, because as it's the reflection of how things were back in her day. -If Twilight in her elder years went into the mirror, she would be old, but Celestia would still be a principle and no one would feel any different, like that's how things always were. -I feel like Human Celestia and Luna are the only instance of these anomalies, given how their counter parts are basically gods. They are very peculiar. -The reason why Alternate Twilight is a loner at Crystal Prep is because Pony Sunset unnaturally took her place as friends of the Humane 5, upsetting the order between both world. This would end up causing the human world to start creating a unique fate for itself, as she's a variable the pony world does not have anymore. -When the Sirens were banished, their existence was that of a Schrodinger's cat scenario. They both existed and not existed until Sunset "opened" the theoretical box. They were basically in limbo for 1000 years My crazy theory is that the Human World was a reality created for Sunset, to teach her that magic and ambition wasn't everything, by giving her a world without magic.
  21. If their is a TV series, I hope that they take inspiration from shows like Sailor Moon, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer instead of Monster High and stuff
  22. -Least Favorite Opening Theme Tricks Up My Sleeve Better Than Ever Awesome as I want to Be Shake Your Tail Battle of the bands (Life is a runway) (My Past is not today) Shine Like Rainbows Under Our Spell (Friendship Through The Ages) Welcome To The Show -Most favorite The Dazzlings songs outshines the Rainbooms for the most part, but the Rainbooms+Sunset nailed it in Welcome to the Show. Friendship Through the Ages is to me a perfect blend of emotion, vocals, and instrumentals. Battle of the bands takes to long to get really good, so I like under our spell more. Shake your tail is generic but sounds good and that scene was hilarious. Opening theme just gets overshadowed, sorry.. Thats my gust
  23. Can we please have an episode where they form an E-sports team, or where Rainbow and Applejack enter some video game competition?
  24. It's alright. I think Twilight could have sounded more meloncholic, and Fluttershy sounds more mature in this one(I personally would give her voice to Twilight)
  25. I think any writer on FimFiction would absolutely LOVE to work with what Rainbow Rocks left the franchise: An amazing original character(Sunset), a very exciting ending hook(Alternate Twilight), and now we are going on to a School vs School setting in the next movie.. I could think of a hundred exciting things I could do with all of this, and I hope they did as well
