One trick amateur astronomers can do to minimize atmospheric turbulence is to record in Near IR light. Longer wavelengths are less affected by our atmosphere, but there is a small resolution penalty. On really turbulent nights like tonight, I would just stay in and play video games or something.
Anyway, here's a couple video clips of the Moon I recorded this evening. Much less turbulence should be seen in the 2nd video clip. Enjoy!

Today went quite well, despite the stormy weather.
Can't do any astronomy with it raining, so I think I'll continue to learn about stocks and bonds.

Had a great day at work, but I am super drowsy. Didn't sleep good at all last nite.

Good morning, everypony! There were some thin clouds out and about, but I was still able to see my favorite planet.
You can see Saturn dance with the atmospheric turbulence. I also included the portion where I dial in the focus. Enjoy!

This evening was a little crazy. The water line going to the fridge burst and made a mess. Got that cleaned up and drying. Now to set my telescope outside overnight. Calm conditions are expected in the morning, so I plan to record some video of Saturn. (that requires getting up early, lol
)

Pretty day to pick some more Dewberries. Too bad I ate them all.

I want to try one of these. Corrector plates are such dew magnets, especially with the swampy humidity this time of the year.
Hair dryer works well, but dew will return as the telescope cools down again.

Last week, I picked a butter bowl full of wild dewberries from the patch near my creek. Got half a bowl this evening. Not bad.
Now, I just need to wash em and bring em to my neighbor. She makes delicious dewberry cobbler.
