  1. The G3.5 cartoon had the characters as babies. G3 proper was like a reimagined G1, complete with mostly adult ponies and a selection of baby ponies who were different from the aduls.
  2. The first episode I saw was the first episode produced: Rescue at Midnight Castle. I rented it on VHS all the time as a kid. As far as FiM, the season 2 opener with Discord was my starting point.
  3. I finally saw her G4 episode. She's entirely different from G1 but that's ok. It was a good episode. I wouldn't mind seeing her come up again.
  4. G2 had the *cutest* toys while I think G3 had the overall *best* designs, especially with the variet of poses and hair colors. I adore G1 and enjoy G4, but G1 relied more on toy gimmicks than poses with its designs, and G4 reuses the same molds and poses, not to mention what sets the characters shapes apart is their hair, which ends up identical in brushable form. That said, G4.does have a pleasant amount of visual diversity in the show, even if it doesn't have 4+ colors in most ponies' hair like the more appealing G1 and G3. G3.5 is the only one I don't like, and I generally refer to it separately.
  5. You could have 2 characters at odds with each other because they both think they're right, and are both relatable without necessarily being wrong. For example, chaotic good vs lawful good who both want to make the world a better place.
  6. Still off-and-on casually collecting gen 1 and gen 2 until it's out of my budget, just like I have for almost 20 years. I'll probably rewatch gen 4 as well.
  7. They SHOULD restock. The unicorn and pegasus set only came out a couple months ago and if they all stay around as long as the Collector Ponies then the scented Rainbow Ponies should be around for at least a little while longer.
  8. Ringo got the most fanmail out of the Beatles. George was actually the least popular.
  9. The show ending will just weed out fad/short-term fans.
  10. I like real horses. I had a box of realistic horse toys (like Breyers) and a box of pastel horse toys (MLP g3) as a kid.
  11. There's rereleasing Mane 6, and then there's including Mane 6 with virtually every set that has a different character. It's like they think they need Pinkie in a package to sell a new character? Or a box set of blindbag size ponies that has the mane 6 and 4-6 other ponies. Anyone who wants different ponies essentially has to drown in unwanted duplicates in order to get different ponies in the brushable or blindbag lines, not to mention anything bigger with brushable hair is (almost) exclusively mane 6 and princesses. At least with plushies and Build-a-bear ponies can be bought individually if you want a different character. For example, one set that I wanted was a set of blindbag sized ponies that had 6 G3s turned into G4s, so they were new characters, BUT it came with the Mane 6, and I have too many of them, so I didn't buy it. I don't want to spend money on things I already have, and that I can find at the flea market for less than a dollar. Considering how much the new characters in that set cost individually, I would conclude that not many other people wanted to buy it, either.
  12. She's a sturdy, reliable friend. In the early seasons, she did more than simply exist like she does in recent seasons. She kinda helped other ponies learn friendship lessons. Since everyone is pretty good at the whole 'friendship' thing, she's less useful aside from showing how different folks can be... and fighting with RD... AJ is my favorite but it saddens me to see her go downhill. But one of them had to be the least favorite.
  13. I didn't feel compelled to go to a con until I found out that a local con had a party floor, including a Klingon party. I don't buy much FiM merch, I mostly just watch the show and collect g1 toys.
  14. I was a 90s kid but my older friends have dubbed me an honorary 80s kid. I watch cartoons, play games, and collect toys from back then. The cartoons were more hardcore back then (despite a lack of using weapons, as in He-Man where his sword never directly harms anyone) and some of the toy designs have become industry standard inspiration. What amuses me about the boy market vs girl market is the price differences. For example, MLP new in package from, say, 1988 are generally $90+ while Star Trek action figures from the same year, new in package, are $10 because they were sold as collectibles.
  15. In a century-old house with little insulation, the most efficient way to keep ourselves warm is with an electric blanket since it's just the two of us.
