What sort of things have people made fun of you for?
Avery replied to Moonlight's topic in General Discussion
I used to work for a bank, where I enjoyed wearing fashionable office attire and not just some boring retails work clothes. One day, I had on a particular suit with a double buttons design. It was brown and I got it from my sister because she knows how much I love my uniformed outfit. One customer came up to me and said “are you serving or something?” Out loud in front of my supervisor who just chuckled with him. Internally, it’s was awkward but I just brush it off and continue on my work like usual. Outfits usually says a lot for me because it’s one of the way to express myself, so I don’t care what others think or say because I do look hella good in it.- 253 replies

Hello! You can call me Avery. I’ve always believed that stories are more than just words on a page — they’re pieces of a person, quietly offered. Whether I’m reading or writing, I approach each story with care, reflection, and a sense of quiet respect. What drew me to the reader staff role is the opportunity to help spotlight voices — whether by reading someone’s work aloud, crafting it into something meaningful, or simply sharing it in a way that makes others feel seen. I’m not here to steal the spotlight, but to hold it steady for those who have something to say. I value the quiet kind of storytelling — the kind that doesn’t shout, but lingers. The kind that makes you feel like someone listened. Whether it’s reading someone’s story aloud like a soft radio wave or helping shape a piece into something ready to be shared — I’d be honored to be part of that process. My Style as a Reader & Writer: My style leans toward the reflective and intimate — I’m drawn to stories with emotional depth, quiet power, and subtle meaning. Whether I’m reading aloud or shaping someone’s words into written form, I aim to carry the tone of the story gently, without overpowering it. I prefer to listen before I speak, and when I do contribute, it’s with intention. There’s a quiet rhythm in the way I read — calm, grounded, but emotionally present. My writing often weaves symbolism, emotion, and stillness together, offering space for others to feel seen. I don’t rush — I believe every story deserves to be held with care. Genres I Gravitate Toward: I’m most drawn to stories that blend emotional depth with subtle symbolism — often found in genres like psychological drama, character-driven fiction, reflective fiction, poetic realism, and nonfiction documentary-inspired narratives. I have a deep appreciation for tales of identity, loyalty, inner conflict, and silent resilience. Whether the setting is grounded in reality or touches the surreal, I look for meaning beneath the surface — stories that whisper, ache, or carry the weight of unspoken things. I’m especially moved by narratives that explore belonging, personal codes, and the quiet strength it takes to keep going.

My little brother played basketball and baseball back in his middle school. His dream was becoming a soccer player. He was a natural when it comes to playing sports, and I would always cheers and rooted for him at the bench. A memory like this tends to make me feel emotional. He’s all grown up and living on his own now, but I can still see him as this little brother who dreamt once to be a soccer player, now someone who will go beyond to reach his goal no matter what nets he will chasing to.

It was early in the morning, my mind was still soggy, my heart sank thinking it was the actual fbi for a second when I saw @THE FBI send me a friend request

Probably a substitute teacher that doesn’t go by the rule book and take the kids out on a field day.

I’m obsessed with anything that got to do with the ocean or Mediterranean. Especially when looking for a body spray, perfume, cologne that has this breezy fresh sea smell with a marine note that’s either heavy or subtle. Whatever makes me feel like I’m taking a walk down the beach in a polo shirt and shorts.

How do YOU define the greatest ________ ever?
Avery replied to cybershocker455's topic in Media Discussion
Hmm. I have to ‘feel’ what the story and the characters are conveying. Just ‘seeing’ can lead a blind critic. I can’t describe it in words but if you can break through a brick wall with a stab of a sword, you have my attention. Movies these days sucks, fictions books are never my cup of tea, most of TV series are just a waste of time. Most are either cliché or try hard. -
Depends on my moods for coffee. Usually black but if I feel like it’s going to be a good day, cream and condensed milk. (Especially with good coffee). Tea for night with ginger.

Aww Thanks silky! Haha you know what they say, black is so yesterday

People often say if I had been working (insert work place) for years when I’m actually new. And often suggested me to take the manager job. I’m not that experienced nor great with most things. I’m just good at adapting to things quickly.

Thinking about how annoying people judge how to wear clothes. I get subconscious about it. Probably just stick with plain black t-shirt and boring pants.

I honestly rather have someone come up to me and bluntly tell me they don't like me. “Great then we don’t have to force ourselves anymore when we’re around each other.” I don’t like being ghosted because then it will have me thinking it’s my fault or worst about myself. To hear someone to hate me is more like a “you problem” not mine. So yes I would appreciate the hard truth rather kicking the brushes.
