Yay more Russian Circles fans

And damn doesn't sound as god as normal Death Grips

But still not too bad at all

And anyways later on tonight or tomorrow

I'll probably throw on some of the Black Metal and grindcore bands

To see if I like them as well

So far I think that both of the genres are awesome as hell

Hey guys, the first time I heard these guys I though they sounded like a mixture of Possessed and Bathory.

Some kick ass modern metal for you right there, and they're NOT from Sweden.  :o

I've found a lot of post-metal I enjoy a lot, Russian Circles in particular. For being an instrumental project, they certainly have a lot of soul in their sound. Not mo-town soul, but rather a strangely emotional mystique.

I hear you like Post-Metal. We're gonna be good friends, you and I.

Metal is for men. Post-Metal is for sir's.

Is it just me, or is the French Post-Metal/ Shoegaze scene inbred? Everyone is in everyone's band.

Oh Agalloch, I heard of them not too long ago

I've only heard a couple of songs by them

But I forget the names of them

Still they're actually quite the band

I've been liking some of their stuff

Might I also add, that they are incredible live. For one of those pretentious bands that gets on stage and has no interaction with the audience, they put a good show.

They has some great acoustic songs as well.

Dornenriech were supporting, I think... or was that a completely different gig? ... I forget.

Avant Garde Metal is also for sirs.

Grindcore. Blockheads. "The World Is Dead." Not the best grind release this year (NAILS is just too fucking good) but still very noteworthy.

GET TO IT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

It's my AOTY for a reason, you know. And that's saying a lot considering it's only 18 minutes long. The impact it leaves on you is just more than words can describe.

I bet that album is gonna be my album of the year as well

Honestly within the first 10 seconds of that song I wanted to rip my face off from the pure insanity

Leave it to NAILS to make an album so heavy that even little woodland creatures would start headbanging

Sort of how the Pig Destroyer guitar player has like, three different bands.

Pardon my recent inactivity, I've been up to my neck in work, schoolwork, and baseball.

Is it bad that I JUST listened to Unsilent Death now?

It is, considering it's so fucking good. Entire album is on a YT playlist up there ^

Also, Veil of Maya because I've been taking quite a liking to them again.

Well at least you've actually heard it

Unsilent Death is pretty much one of my personal favorite Grind albums

I'd so put it up there with Inhale/Exhale and Book Burner

So...I probably shouldn't say this, but...I don't think I like grindcore...so yeah...

inb4 comments about how I'm a stupid faggot with no taste

Well obviously someone like you wouldn't like Grindcore

And don't take it hard on yourself, I was like that at first with Grind music

It took me really long to get used to the sound of it

You have a better taste in music than a lot of people I know

I'd rather have someone listen to Metallica and Slipknot

Than listen to Black Veil Brides and Asking Alexandria

Honestly, there isn't really anything wrong with listening to those bands in the first place. Listen to whatever you like.

Anyone heard of Warbringer before? They're all thrashy-like and pretty aggressive actually.

HEEEEEEY GAMMA BOMB,  YOU DIDN'T WRITE THIS RIFF! SO HEEEEEY, WARBRINGER, EAT OUR LICH KING DICKS!

Okay, in all seriousness. Warbringer is one of my favorite thrash bands because they're so aggressive. Also, I like their vocalist.

I know, John Kevill has so much "ARARAHUGH", you know?

And I'm liking that Lich King track. I just opened their last.fm page, and they have Vio-lence (and Exodus, Slayer, S.O.D.) as one of their influences. Man, I remember that I first couldn't really understand the appeal of Sean Killian's vocals, but now I love them. And Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel were in that band too!

For like, half a second at 4:29 you can see Robb when he was really young. Mai hasubando <3 <3

Oh no, this is worse.

Neige's personal project is Alcest, but he also was/is in Les Discrets, Peste Noire, Amesoeurs, Lantlos, Dor Deadeloth, Old silver Key, Phest and several other bands and projects.

Les Discrets, one of the bands he's in, is led by Fursy Teyssier, who was also in Alcest, Amesoeurs, and Phest.

Audrey Sylvain, the vocalist from Amesoeurs, also worked with Peste Noire and and Alcest.

La sale Famine de Valfunde (front man of Peste Noire) was also in Dor Deadeloth with Neige.

Gonna leave some stuff here before I go to school

Since we mentioned Pig Destroyer I might as well put one up

And also I found one of their full shows uploaded

I don't have the time to watch it now, but I probably will when I get home

We've all heard orchestra in metal plenty of time but, how often in a whole concert? Well we got the answer with one of my all-time favourite live albums to ever exist:

2793.jpg

S&M recorded in April 21-22nd, 1999. The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra fits well with Metallica's metal character and creates something unlike any other in metal history. Each track has a new take on it with the orchestral blend and the results are staggering. James Hetfield's voice sounds spot on as well.

My personal picks from it:

For Whom The Bell Tolls

And one MORE thing...

tumblr_m6pcdfqAL01qbc123o1_500.jpg

Fursy Teyssier (Les Discrets, Alcest, Amesoeurs, Phest) also does the artwork for most of the bands I mentioned... which is probably why they all look the same.

Incidentally, he's also a

animator. Edited by Hansel
