Not much of a Metalhead. I'm sure it's been talked about here before, but I don't feel like looking through 250 pages.

Anyone here a fan of Tool. They count as a metal band, right?

I listen to metal a lot but I don't have a favorite song, so I'm just gonna post some names of bands that I really think are insanely good!

Avantasia

Hammerfall

Disturbed

Iron Maiden

and many many more... :P

Nice to see a thread though and that there are so many people that like metal :D

But yeah I here am as well a fan of Tool

I own Lateralus right now and I plan on getting another album by them

I listened to this song again today cause it had been a while. Fucking brilliant song. One of my favorite songs by Dream Theater.

New Metal Inbound! We have A new album from Within the Ruins that was released a little over a week ago.

Its a bloody banger!  Sort of a fusion between Emmure and Oceano on this one. I'm especially digging Track No. 6 Ataxia ll

Shit's bangin' man. One of the best I've heard in a while. I know I posted this song before, but holy hell. The chorus is one of the best that I've ever heard. Favorites are I, Blaspheme, Elite, and Feeding Frenzy.

Also, I've had a pounding headache all day. Coheed seems to alleviate that.

Hey, I just looked into Gojira's debut album, Terra Incognita once more, and I realized how much I love 1990 quatrillions de tonnes. I like it for reasons I can't quantitatively explain, but I feel that the atmosphere brings me to one I can really, really connect to. Though I don't think many other people feel that way, and I doubt anyone I know would every agree with me. It's a shame that people hate the screaming in this track, or the monotone yelling. They simply say, "It's weird", or "WTF". I myself love it, something real primal about it, something I can personally relate to, you know?

Just felt like getting that off my mind, before I forget.

Slowly getting back into listening to Arch Enemy.  Angela Gossow is probably one of the very few female vocalists who does growls the way that I like.

Also, earlier today, I was talking to a buddy of mine, and we reminisced about a few metal concerts we attended on separate occasions.  And Mastodon came up.  If there was any band I would like to see again live, it would be these guys hands down.

It's been a while since I've heard something positive about post-Angela Arch Enemy. Very admirable person, she runs for an hour every day. Fellow runners in metal make me happy, since they're kinda non-existent. And Cult of Chaos is probably one of my favorites from that album.

Have you heard any of their 2009 Compilation release? It's a lot of Livva songs redone in C Standard with Angela. Plus the solos are (mostly) new, and I like them a lot better in the newer version.

Oooo, this is the first time I've heard this.  Very nice.  Those solos are good additions.  And I honestly didn't know there was so much hate for Angela; it's a shame because I think she's fit for Arch Enemy.  I stopped listening to them after Anthems of Rebellion, as it was the last cd I bought.

I really like the Angela version for "Bury Me and Angel" over Liiva's:

Don't know if this should be posted here, but... Hardcore Superstar released a new album a few days ago and I thought I'd share two of my favorite songs from that album:

Awwwwww Damnit if only YouTube didn't suck at buffering during this moment

Oh well, I'm gonna have to listen to that one once YouTube decides to not suck

Since Natasha is my favorite Pig Destroyer track I'm probably gonna enjoy this EP a lot

I dunno what y'all are talking about, so I'm gonna post some Metallica, don't mind me.

Oh RD, do you know of Porcupine Tree

They're a more Progressive-type band

Though I don't know if you're heavy enough to be posted in here

They seem like the kind of band that you'd like since you seem to enjoy Rush and Dream Theater

Nope, I've never heard of them. They seem okay though.

For some reason I don't like getting into bands I've never heard of that people randomly throw at me. *shrug*

Although I did get into that album "Colors" by BTBAM because Crispy posted it up.

If you don't find new stuff you'll get bored after a while ;)

Therefore have a song from Woods of Ypres.

This band had quite a history. They went from being a black metal band, then to doom metal, and then almost gothic metal. This is from their doom era. Their vocalist David Gold also died in 2011, and their last album, "Woods V: Grey Skies and Electric Light" was a favorite among metal listeners last year when it came out. Really emotional stuff.

It was just a recommendation, I figured that you might like it

Though if you don't like them then that's okay

I'm the complete opposite because it helps you know who has a similar taste in music as you do

And it even helps you find out about bands that you would of never discovered on your own before

Okay I'll admit that it was a recommendation that was out of the blue

But meh, I was listening to it at the moment and felt the need to give you the song I was listening to

@, GRINDCORE - THE GENRE OF MISLEADING ALBUM COVERS

Seriously. I'd expect this to be some Tame Impala album. Top notch grindcore, tho.

"The Inalienable Dreamless" looks like a post-rock album or something. Still have to listen to that.

Anyway I started "Woods V," the record I spoke of earlier. I didn't like it at first listen, but after really enjoying "Woods IV," I'm trying again, and it sounds better. This album must be listened to with the lyrics, which can be found here.

NEW PIG DESTROYER. (Edit: of course I post the same one as Treeboy. Out of all of them, I pick the same one.)

Sounds doomy. I approve.

Born of Osiris. The Discovery was fantastic (and better) but we can't forget about their origins. Also, can't wait for their new album scheduled this year.

Maybe if this album didn't sound like it was recorded underwater it'd be a little better.
