holy shit I'm listening to the live version of Colors by BTBAM on Spotify, and it's performed almost flawlessly, I'm really impressed :0

Definitely a talented band for sure.

This is a band I hold near and dear to my heart, Children of Bodom. If anyone talks smack about them I will try to reason with them, tolorate them, become their friend, then I'll stab them in the fucking head, rip their heart out, rip their brain in half and then set their corpse on fire. :D

I recently discovered these guys and I haven't been able to stop listening. They're coming down to London at the end of the month, but I may not be able to catch them, which makes me sad.

Picked up the recent Holy Grail album a few days back. It's good NWOBHM worship but it'll take me a few more spins to really get into it...

Alright, it's been a long time since I've posted in this thread, but since there is no better place to make your 666th post, I'm finally back!

I'm sure both of these have been posted already, but listening to good songs again never hurts.

One of my most dearest black metal bands. Leviathan will always hold a special place in my heart and on my turntable. The album "The Tenth Sublevel of Suicide" was my foray into DSBM.

Whoa, Disciple was one of the best songs on that album. In fact, there's someone who doesn't go to my highschool anymore, but in one of my classes he was just kinda saying the lyrics to himself. Once he got to "die for peace with acts of war", I was all like "the beauty of death we all adore". Epic bro moment right after, especially considering the fact that I only know of two other people who actually listen to metal at my school. Yeah, it's kinda dead here. But still, awesome.

DSBM? I have no idea what the DS stands for. How many subgenres of black metal are there that I don't know anyway?

I know this isn't metal, but this is my favorite fucking album of all fucking time ever on the face of the earth.

That's the only Rush album that I know of.

And since we're now allowed to post Rush then there should be no problem posting Steven Wilson

And now that I'm in a Progressive mood, gonna go listen to my favorite Dream Theater track

At the Drive-In, Botch, Cave In, and Between the Buried and Me are all putting together Record Store Day releases, and I couldn't be happier. At the Drive-In is re-releasing "Relationship of Command," a pivotal album for the post-hardcore genre...

...Botch is reissuing "American Nervoso," a mathcore gem (though why couldn't it be "We Are the Romans?")...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gUhYGwD584

...Cave In is bringing back "Until Your Heart Stops," an old-school metalcore throwback...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzsRtCYqgkM

...and Between the Buried and Me is putting out a boxset of both parts of "The Parallax." I really wanna get my hands on this.

If you've got a record player, go to Record Store Day on the 20th of this month. Just fucking go.

Dude, I can't think of one for thrash metal. :( Octavia would be Symphonic Metal, though lol.

Anyways, I minus well post some Deicide while I'm here.

Fluttershy: Blackgaze or post-metal. Seems to fit her light and quiet nature.

Twilight Sparkle: Progressive metal. Just as meticulous as she is.

Rainbow Dash: Melodic death metal. Because it's perfect "fuck yeah" music.

Pinkie Pie: Trance metal (it exists). Bubbliest stuff I can think of.

Rarity: "Djent." Tends to rely a lot on production, as Rarity is very precise about her handiwork as a dressmaker.

Applejack: Folk metal. Closest metal could come to bluegrass or something.

Heh, I was thinking of Extreme Metal for Pinkie Pie simply because of SYL! Fits her well.

I always thought that Rainbow Dash would be pretty into thrash. Like, 80's thrash and stuff, not modern thrash. That, or speed-metal if you were looking for something less aggressive.

Rarity would also be symphonic for me. Someone else was assigning them metal genres. In that same post, I got introduced to Therion, which is probably the only Symphonic Metal band I like. She could also like "flower metal", probably would.

Also, mathcore for Twilight, and not just because it has "math" in it.

I can't think of anyone for Thrash as well, though Black Metal and Drone Metal would probably go with Nightmare Moon at least to me.

I was thinking Melodic Death Metal for Rainbow Dash as well, and I never knew that Trance Metal was an actual genre

I think of Rainbow Dash as Deicide, Rarity as Burzum and Pinkie Pie as Napalm Death but that's just me. Applejack reminds me of Acid Bath because they're both from the south. LOL
