Why is there so much Deathcore here? I'm sorry, but I cannot stand it. I won't say it's not Metal, but I don't think it's good metal, its just noise to me.

I don't like deathcore either, I have yet to hear a deathcore song that I like. Then again, I'm not really a fan of death metal either :/

I like some Melodic and Technical Death Metal, but otherwise I don't really like Death Metal either. I still prefer it to Deathcore.

What do you mainly listen to? (What bands and/or subgeres?)

I listen to a lot of death metal actually, :/ Every time I post something on here it's usually death metal xD

I like Deathcore.  Even bands that say they aren't.  Like Will Smith's daughter, totally heavy.

Also, I'd like to see if there's any love for some Counterparts in here.

Old school deathcore is pretty good as a contrast to all the chugging shit. Take The Red Chord, for example. They play deathcore, but it's infused with grindcore (something I wish was done more).

(this video quality sucks a bit)

Also, Veil of Maya. They're more of a melodic band and come closer to metalcore in many cases.

And plus they're technical as all hell.

Right when I noticed that Deathcore was the topic that we were on, I was gonna post Veil of Maya. I haven't listened to Eclipse yet, I've only listened to [id]

So... 300 pages. Sweet.

Only one reason why I'm posting Warbringer right now. Along with Kreator and Overkill, they're coming to Toronto in November. ON A SUNDAY. If this goes well, I'll be able to see them after missing Warbringer four times now? Excited I am.

...and then I cry in September because the venue will be 19+ when I'm 18...

Warbringer is awesome! What do you think of their 2011 release? And that sounds like a really thrashy show to be at. If only I had money. And was willing to run that far.

So I've been listening to quite a bit more Black Metal than I usually do, I'll just leave these songs right here. Been listening to a lot of BM due to how I was given a long list of recommended BM songs.

Mainly stuff on the other side of the Metal spectrum, like Progressive Metal, Power Metal, NWBHM, Symphonic Metal, ect. Anyway, I can tolerate screamed vocals, but I don't particularly like them. Of the genres with screamed vocals it's Thrash, Black, and Melodeath that I probably like the most.

Well shit, we're like polar opposites. I listen to death, thrash, black, doom, sludge, grindcore and progressive. I only have one power metal album in my whole music library.

Well we both did list Progressive Metal, but you are probably referring to stuff like Opeth while I'm referring to stuff like Dream Theatre. I also like Djent, as long as it's not just Technical Deathcore crap trying to cash on the scene.

Yea, I like Opeth A LOT. I also like Between the Buried and Me and I just started listening to Isis. Death's later stuff is also progressive. Dream Theater is OK I guess, I'm not a huge fan of stuff like that :I

Dude Isis are a Post-Metal band.

Anyways since you mentioned Between the Buried And Me, I now am tempted to post a song by them

I like Death, especially their final album, though I've never been that keen on Schuldiner's vocals. IMO old-school Death Metal is a lot better than the stuff that generic death metal is nowadays.

I though Isis were progressive, sludge and post-metal. But yea, Colors is a really good album. But is it better than Blackwater Park?

Death are one of my favorite bands ever. Along with Carcass. I like Carcass a lot, I have all their albums *squee*. Do you like Carcass?

Dude, Colors is like nothing compared to Blackwater Park but who cares, both albums are awesome. As for Isis they have mild Progressive-ish type sounds in them, though they're mainly Sludge Metal or Post-Metal. They're never referred to as a Progressive band due to how it's not as obvious, but they do count to a mild extent.

Well this is the only Carcass song I've heard,

and I like it, but from what I've read I'm pretty sure most of their stuff is not like this.

Carcass were originally a Goregrind band, but then they moved onto a Death Metal / Melodeath style, you might like their Heartwork album.

That varies by which era you're talking about. Carcass' early stuff is grindcore, their latter stuff is melodic death metal.

DID SOMEONE SAY DEATHCORE?

Sorry for posting this again, but fuck. It's got some of the best bass tone I've ever heard, and the drumming sounds fantastic. Why can't every band have this good production? (Fuck you, Djenty)

Oh yeah, I knew that, I just forgot. The person who showed me this song only mentioned that they were one of the founders of grindcore. I guess they are sort of like In Flames in that regard.

Have this, whatever it is:

Random Finnish bands FTW.

Also have some Iron Maiden.

Iron Maiden is the best band ever. For some reason it links to random Finnish band.
