So you're not into Death Metal growls? Periphery are one of the easiest bands with growling to get into so that's a good start. I'm kind of at a similar case, though maybe more Hardcore-esque screams/growls might appeal to you more, the first album with almost little to no clean vocals that I got into was Oceanic by Isis.
