Best song on Absent Light. I mean, just listen to those glockenspiels and clean guitars and tom drums and all that good shit.

By the way, this is reply 8000.

Yeah, the clean sections on this album were fantastic.  Not quite used to the same level as on Malice (seriously, The Stinging Rain used that choir to max effect), but still fantastic.

Also, onward to 10k.

This is probably my favorite Metallica instrumental, if not my favorite METAL instrumental.

Oh, and Happy 50th Birthday James Hetfield

That's not an instrumental! It has words in it!... I'm just kidding.

TLITD is my third favorite Metallica instrumental, after Orion and Call of Ktulu

Yeah that's a cool one too, and don't forget Suicide and Redemption from Death Magnetic!

The part at 6:18 makes me jizz my pants every time :D

So yea, I got through Rorcal's latest release. All I can say is that this album kicks so much ass that I couldn't believe it when I first heard it. It's up there as one of my favorite Metal albums of this year, strongly recommended.

It's very atmospherical Sludge/Black Metal btw. They managed to mix those two genres perfectly

Well, lucky for you guys, I'm gonna be gone for a week, so you won't have to see me around here.

I'm gonna leave Colors here before I go. I think I will listen to it later today.

I'M REALLY JACKED UP BECAUSE EVER FORTHRIGHT'S COMING TO MY TOWN LATER THIS MONTH.

Opus Eponymous > CREEPY LATIN SHIT 2013

400 pages.  We did it, guys.  Climbed the whole mountain.

I'm going to keep posting this until every single one of you owns it.

Probably my album of the year, with the new Defeater and Counterparts holding a close second and third, respectively.

I OWN IT ALREADY, BIOTCH.

FUCK YES FOR MADOKA.

This is the best example of technical wanker ever:

It's a shame the band broke up because they had potential. I listen to the full EP at least once a week.

THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME HOLY FUCK

Oh, 'gratz on 400. Seems like just yesterday we hit 300 :')

Since Champion RD92 will be away for a while, I guess I will have to keep this thread alive somehow. I wish the forum's character limit was friendlier.

Yea so Oceanic has been growing a lot on me lately. I'm not sure why, I guess I'm just in the right mood. Maybe I should try Cult of Luna next.

That's one of my favorite tracks off of the album. If you're gonna try Cult of Luna their best album IMO would be Eternal Kingdom with Somewhere Along The Highway in a close second.

Also I recommend you check out their live perfomances, an amazing band to see live

Combing through some of my high school stuff, found this gem.

Doesn't bother with pretense, just punches you in the face with speed right off the bat.

While in the el skype circlejerk, Mr.TomokoIsMyWaifu mentioned how Welcome to Hell was his favorite thrash album (I think)

Well that reminded me of how I used to like it a lot, so I relistened to it :V

these 7th grade feels

Best grindcore split right here.

You are correct, I really cannot count myself as a fan of thrash (odd due to my love of hardcore and some crossover) but Venom are just too good.

My favorite song of WtH

I didn't listen to Welcome to Hell until much later, I started off with Black Metal. But even before that I was a more into Mercyful Fate, I remember I used to listen to Melissa and Don't Break the Oath a lot back in 8th grade.

dem 8th grade feelz

I also dug Celtic Frost quite a bit back then.

Speaking of thrash, Morbid Saint's Spectrum of Death is my favorite thrash album.

I actually like the Blaze Bayley era, unlike most Iron Maiden fans who won't give these albums a chance because it's not Bruce Dickinson.

TesseracT is not really a band I have given any attention, but I gave Altered State a try today. I must admit, I was really impressed. It was nearly perfect, though I would love to hear some harsh vocals instead of clean ones

Their debut is just as impressive, though it is a bit heavier. It's definitively the same band, but more like two different sides of them. Altered State is one of my metal AOTY contenders, though.

This is their Concealing Fate EP, which ends up being the majority of their debut album.

EDIT: Yes, they are two different vocalists. I prefer O'Hara over Tompkins (Altered State vocalist to One vocalist) any day, though.

If their debut is the heavier version of them, then I'm definitely giving it a try very soon. The one thing that Altered State lacked imo was heaviness. You have no idea how much I wished the lead singer would just growl or scream....

Anyways, Nails

Another Born of Osiris song released.

I don't know how to feel. I wouldn't say it's bad, I do think it's good. I just find that without Richardson, the guitarwork isn't as interesting and they try to abuse the synth to make up for it. I guess we'll have to wait and see for the full album to have a firm judgement.

Vocals seem overproduced as FUCK though.

A couple of days ago, "Lament" by TesseracT came on my las.fm radio, and shit me, it definitely has to be my favorite song by them.  The song is pretty brilliant imo.

http://youtu.be/Uko4wlNZv_U

Also, Dan Tompkins is like EVERYWHERE.  If there's some cool new djenty band that I've found through web surfing, fuckin' Danny boy is involved with them some how.  I don't dislike him or his vocals at all, rather I just find it amusing.

Aaaaand some Threat Signal.
