one of my favorite bands of all time

If you are reading this you clearly have sometime on your hands, or you just like to read. Lets be honest they can be very related, you are on a forum dedicated to pastel colored miniature equines. Though if reading this is a waste of time, what would it say about the person who is writing it....

also The Game, Consult the Helix Fossil, /0, and other such maymays

The one song by this band I really like is this one.

Auf dem Lande auf dem Meer lauert das Verderben Die Kreatur muss sterben, Sterben!

This album is about the merging of human consciousness with the processing power of the artificial mind of a machine.

"One side, to another. One side, brought together."

Certain parts are from the position of the human being, others from the perspective of the machine.

"Truth in lies, cryptic eyes, unconscious cries. You have to trust me, I'm you." (perspective of the machine)

"Welcome to my world, it's 3 o'clock AM. Welcome to my mind, I'm blacking out again." (perspective of the human being)

All in all, brilliantly written album.

I love this song, it's sooooo good. Probably my favorite Dream Theater song.

Panic Attack is nice, but have you ever listened to the actual title track from that album? It's godlike.

Um, yes I have listened to it, I have the whole album. And yeah, the title track is a masterpiece. Definitely godlike. The Root of All Evil is also godlike.

Oh, ok. >.< I didn't mean to offend or anything. It's just that I often come across people who have ONLY heard Panic Attack, simply because it was in Rock Band 2...

Kinda funny. That was the first time I heard Dream Theater and didn't think much of it. It took me going to one of their concerts a couple years ago, and then I became almost obsessed with them. Easily tied for my favorite band with Pantera and Judas Priest.

Anyway, MY favorite DT song would probably have to be....

Technically I did hear Panic Attack because of Rock Band 2 lol, but I got into a lot of Dream Theater's stuff because of it.

Metropolis pt.2: Scenes from a Memory is a really good album too, my favorite song is probably Overture 1928:

However, my personal favorite DT album is Train of Thought, here's a song from it:

As I Am was the song that first actually sparked my interest in the band, and is still my favorite song off of "Train of Thought". On a side note, I actually own a "Train of Thought shirt. :3

This music video is so bad ass.

Jill Janus certainly is a pleasant female vocalist to hear. She's kind of like a female Tim Owens. Complete with the whole deal with those dry, false-chord cleans.

Much bass. Such intro. Very metal.
