Well, I am into much of the 80's, 70's Metal bands. I like all types of Metal.

My favorites are: Motorhead, Judas Priest, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, and Metallica.

So, I have a mix of Speed, Thrash, and Heavy, I guess.

I saw Lamb of god in there.

Finest, as for Dream Theater, this is just a personal opinion, but their best album is called Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory. FUCKING STELLAR.

Metropolis Pt. 2 really is fucking stellar. However, I'm one of the very few DT fans that don't like it. Give me Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence or Awake any day.

...I'm bored.

a day without Metal? NO.

Sorry, RKA, but he's right.

Though in his defense, NNL, I've been posting hardcore.

I don't have a problem. I'm just sayin. And I don't think there's much difference between hardcore and metal, but I guess that's my inexperience showing.

It really depends. When I post old old hardcore (Madball, Blood For Blood, Black Flag, Minor Threat) it's closer to punk. New hardcore has been bastardized with a lot of metal influences.

That makes A LOT of sense now. Half the time I hear punk or metal from those bands...

Here, have a then and now.

Old school style hardcore:

New school hardcore:

Edit for explaining:

Old school hardcore WAS punk. Punk in the late 70's/early 80's was turning into New Wave. A minority of people did not want this change, and hardcore punk was born. The mid 80's is when the separations between Thrash, Traditional Punk and Hardcore started to become more established.

There's a book called American Hardcore, all about the beginning of the movement and the bands that started the trends, like Gang Green, Black Flag, D.R.I. and Slapshot. Amazing read, you'd like it.

I actually REALLY like the old school much better than the new school. New school reminds me of the metalcore I hear around the beaten path. Old school seems proper and powerful.
