Alright guise. Me and my friends just got back from the mall, and on impulse, I bought Intristic by The Contortionist. What can I expect?

A good fuck album, that's what. One of my albums of the year so far, as I mentioned earlier. Also, there's a new Dave Matthews Band album out. Debating if should listen.

So I don't know if anyone gives a crap, but I recently started listening to Megadeth and I bought the album Rust In Peace. I love the songs Holy Wars and Hangar 18!!!

You picked a good album to start at. :D That was the album that got me hooked. If you wanna listen to more, check out Killing Is My Business. Then Peace Sells.

Oh, ok then. I liked it, anyway. :DDD

I liked his work with Trey Anastasio.

Not that I like Phish or anything. =X

Wow, Dethklok is coming to the same venue where I'm seeing Deftones, but I can't see them. :( DETHKLOK.

I'd recommend the other way around. Peace Sells is a little more accessible as an introduction to Megadeth. If anything, I'd continue with Countdown to Extinction before Peace Sells or KIMB.

I also like the songs "Peace Sells" and "Symphony of Destruction" if that would make it easier for you guys to give me a recommendation.

Go Countdown first, then. If you like the slower paced songs on it, then go for Youthanasia. But if you dig fast Megadeth like R.I.P, then go to Peaces Sells and the rest of the early stuff. Just my opinion, though.

Wow. Right down the recommendation line.

Basically what Djenty said. Although based on what it seems, I think you should go Countdown, then Youthanasia. If you can get past those two albums and want something heavier, try The System has Failed.

...actually, if you like Countdown, try either Youthanasia or System has Failed. Doesn't really matter.

Rage Against The Machine is a pretty good band, although I don't invest much time in the guys though...

That's too bad. There hasn't been and probably won't be a more politically charged band for quite a long time.

Someone needs to make a death metal version of the MLP theme...

Someone needs to look the thread over a little more. I've posted it twice.

Three times now, for your convenience.

Dead Poetic and From Autumn to Ashes, are decent,

From Autumn to Ashes only decent!?

What got me into Megadeth is a little embarrassing: Risk. Possibly their least metal album ever. Basically alternative rock and hated by many. I loved it, though. Who would've known it would take them another decade after that to find their real sound again, but they did in Endgame. Damn, that was great. No Rust In Peace, but still a highlight of their career.

I've seen it, thank you. That's not death metal. It's very nice, though. Edited by TailsAlone

Fair. Probably as close as you're going to get, though. MLP and death metal... just... wouldn't work. At least I don't think so. Even the majority of attempts at "bronycore" or whatever the fuck they're calling it are kinda off to me.

Ew Bronycore. Combining a little girl's show with elements of death/grind/metalcore doesn't really work out. Like, singing about Fluttershy to the guitar riff of Rational Gaze. (Meshuggah ;D)

It's like bronycore punk vocals. Pretty funny.

Yaplap can get away with it because it's not serious at all.

Here's one that I actually like from the community. It doesn't try so damn hard and that makes it work out better.

The only Trivium song I have ever heard.

There need to be more bands like this that can be thrashy and hardcore at the same time without all of those bullcrap breakdowns.

Not sure if it's a good thing or not that the only video with the song is an AMV from DragonballZ...

I like this song, it kicks ass. I should probably start listening to more Dream Theater cause I only know like 4 songs by them.

Panic Attack - Dream Theater

Unless you're into pretty long songs, I don't think you'll like Dream Theater. In terms of what you're looking for, take a look at Systematic Chaos or Train Of Thought.

Try those, and tell me how you feel.

LOL FFDP SUCKS NEWB LRN2METALTHRED

erm... I don't like em. :S

Also, I usually switch between really Progressive Deathcore, Djent, Meshuggah or even the occasional Thrash band. Plus Deftones.

So my friend and I now have an on going joke on how Djent isn't real because Randy Blythe said so. It usually goes:

"Hey, listen to Volumes, they're some awesome djent."

"DJENT'S NOT REAL. RANDY BLYTHE SAID SO."

"RANDY BLYTHE ISN'T REAL"

"Then how was he detained in a European prison?"

I actually usually like longer songs more than shorter songs...both those songs you posted are pretty awesome...I would say Dream Theater is definitely one of the best bands I've ever heard...but for some reason I just can't get myself to take the time to listen to them more...
