mega thread Metal Thread

Anyway, Rush has FINALLY been nominated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Do I care or do I celebrate?

That's great news! Listening to my Dad's old Rush cds back in the day really helped me get into progressive rock/metal, which opened the doors to great bands like Coheed and Opeth; at least for me.

This is one of my favorite songs from their 2012 album. It's probably the heaviest they've ever gotten:

EDIT: Fuck it, I've disgraced this thread already with something that isn't metal, so here, TAKE SOME MORE DISGRACE!

Fuck the rules, hardcore in the metal thread, now. These guys are just my FAVORITE hardcore band. And their discography is so huge, it's impossible to hear it all.

We always genre swap here. But we don't bring.. VAN HALEN. :|

Gave this album a needed listen through. I liked their first album sound more. :(

I have returned to this thread like I said I would. Did you guys think I forgot?

So yeah, been listening to the tracks you guys are linking. <3

*Still doesn't know enough to really contribute to discussion*

So, uh, here. Have some classic Slayer.

Good enough choice with regard to thrash. I find this to be some of the most interesting music of said variety in the business, though.

I think I need some confirmation, because I don't really distinguish if this is metal or not...

Yep. This was expected.

All joking aside, Slayer has released some solid metal. Not my all time favorites or anything, but I definitely hold them in high regard. Since they are the fathers of Death Metal. :333

I haven't given this album it's needed listen through. I like the old vocalist, better.

(Anything I post here has probably been influenced by Djenty is some way, shape, or form. Just warning y'all)

So anyways, I listened to The Discovery by Born of Osiris while chilling on the bus to go to football today, and since it's now stuck in my head, take 2 from that album.

Follow the Signs is an addictive track. I mean when he yells "WE ARE THE VICTIMS, YET WE ARE ALSO THE CRIME."... Great stuff.

POST HARDCORE IN THE METAL THREAD, WATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT. Dammit Treeboy, you got me listening to these guys.

This is one of the most wild songs of Around the Fur. Everything is just so... energetic in it. Especially those screams.

I woke up this morning with an urge to listen to some grindcore (which never happens) so I listened to some musical death instead of going to church *shrugs*

Listened to Dirge by Wormrot and (the obligatory) Prowler in the Yard by Pig Destroyer.

Between The Buried And Me's new album is coming out in two days! Their songs are already on YouTube, and all I have to say is HOLY SHIT, they're one of those few bands that actually get better and BETTER throughout their new albums!

Vektor - Black Future

I dunno. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for these guys.

Municipal Waste - YOU'RE! CUT OFF!!

That's required listening, KKR. Plus, the video is pretty goddamn rad.

New Thrash? Try Evile, Gama Bomb, Municipal Waste, Mutant, Warbringer, Angelus Apatrida, Savage Messiah, Havok, Skeletonwitch and Vektor.

Vektor and Mutant is a must. Warbringer and Skeletonwitch if you want something heavier, or Savage Messiah and Evile for something a tad bit more melodic. MW and GB are there b/c they're fun to listen to, and Angelus has some sweet riffs.

Old Thrash? Coroner, Depressive Age, Realm, Cyclone Temple, Sodom, Kreator, Megadeth, Aspid, Sepultura (NOT AFTER ROOTS), Artillery and Heathen.

Really recommend Realm's "Suiciety", Depressive Age's "First Depression", Cyclone Temple's "I Hate, Therefore I Am", anything by Coroner and Aspid's "Extravasation". Heathen's guitar tone in "Victims of Deception" will make you worship Lee Altus. Everything else is there 'cause its fast, evil and heavy. Edited by NeverNeverland

Edit: Now listening to Fear, Emptiness, Despair by Napalm Death. <---- Youtube link

I told you this in Private chat, but I'll put it out here, for the world to see. It's not that Napalm Death SUCKS, it's just that there are grindcore bands that I like more than them, so I don't pay much attention to them. Like Wormrot and Pig Destroyer, or even Nosebleed.

Though by your signature, I can't help but post this song. ;D

But seriously, things are decent enough. Having math every morning is a bit more tough than I expected, I finally got a volunteer position at the school library with a friend so luls are inbound, and I'm now an executive for a school team I've just joined this year.

Infidel is boss. He got me into a melodic death metal outfit known as Bloodshot Dawn.

Go with City, then Alien, then it depends on whether you like experimental or death metal. HAARHT is for the hardcores IMO.

Are you my clone? Those are my favourites as well, except I have more ties as well (More!, Save Our Now, Kingdom, Liberation, Grace, Where We Belong).
