Now I must go refresh my love for Opeth, as I caught a reference to them in my initial poking around here and had completely forgotten their awesomeness.

Err Mer Gersh ye liek Erpef too?

Yea so I'm not sure weather I should listen to Alaska or The Silent Circus ._. Which one do I pick? 3:

Might be the first time I saw that band get mentioned here. "The Feeding"'s gotta be my favourite album of theirs, one of my favourites overall. Still have to check out "The War of Art Though". I think it's the last one they released? Not sure.

Really?  I love them, they're my happy music!  The War of Art is amazeballs, let me know what you think of it when you get around to listening to it. :D

Yes!  Ozena is one of my favorites by them.

That's a good question, I'll have to listen to more of both before I can give an opinion on that though. ;)

I would personally say Alaska, only because I really love the song "Selkies: The Endless Obsession" and also "All Bodies" is really good.

I've only listened to The Silent Circus once, but it was pretty good.

Alrighty then, Alaska it is then. I need to dig deeper into BTBAM's discography. I've only gone halfway into it. I went from their self-titled to Colors and then both Parallaxes.

Holy shit, if you put the two Parallaxes together, it's so fucking long lol

The second one is so much longer though. I wish the first Parallax was longer, it's so expensive considering how short it is. Oh well, it's still awesome.

Here's a new metalcore song I made... non-pony this time. Let me know if you like it... it took some hard work, especially to mix and master.

It was okay, but I think it could have used some clean vocals. I always like when there is alternating screaming vocals and clean vocals. But that's just me.

Ah, well I chose to do all screams because lately I don't feel like I can sing very well. That and I have no pitch-correction software at the moment, and singing perfectly on pitch is near impossible without professional monitoring headphones. :P

Well then *listens to track*

Hmm....not terrible, though the synth outro was kind of unnecessary and the vocals weren't too great though they weren't terrible.

I was reppin' that band Crispy posted a few days back, Traitor. Fucking kickass stuff, especially the vocals. Band worthy of my support, I bought the EP.

He even does some spoken-word stuff like La Dispute in I Curse Those Who Ail Me, which I love.

The Contortionist announced that they have a new vocalist (Thanks, Treeboy). He's the same guy who does vocals for this band.

Editted for better song choice.

I'm not quite sure how he'd fit with The Contortionist's style, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

That's a really good song, but this song is just...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

This was actually the first BTBAM song I listened to. I was like, "huh this is pretty good" and then I listened to Colors and then I was like "holy crap this is awesome"

Right now I'm on this song.

After I finish Alaska, I'll just need The Silent Circus, The Great Misdirect, The Anatomy OF and Colors Live and I'll be done with everything.

Holy shit, that cover art is amazing. Wikipedia gives this as an alternate.

Terribly enough, I have a grand total of 0 drone metal bands in my collection as of yet. Probably gonna start with this or some drone doom stuff.

I just went through Mastodon's entire discography for the third time. You guys can say what you want, Blood Mountain is my favorite by them. I can't be convinced

But I won't dwell much into Mastodon, since we just recently had a discussion about them. I'll instead leave some Egypt here

I really like this thread, not sure why I didn't start posting earlier :/

Okay this song is officially really fucking awesome

I should probably listen to the Leviathan album again cause I only listened to it once so far.

You know, I really tried to give Mastodon a chance, but there's something about the mastering for each of the albums I've listened to that drives me nuts. For this album specifically, they really should've A.) rolled off some of that high-end on the guitars, because they practically sound like white noise, and B.) miked the bottom of the snare, because it's all attack and no rattle. Had those things happened, I think I really would've enjoyed this album. Once again, my pickiness has gotten the better of me. sad.png

Speaking of under-produced albums, Divine Intervention is a highly underrated Slayer album.

Must have been their goal to make some fuzzier production on their earlier stuff. Their newer works have less harsh vocals, and sharper production, generally.

Anyway, since everyone was posting Mastodon, I finally remembered about this one song that I liked. Best song on the album, IMO.

One of the bonus tracks for the Hunter has an older-Mastodon sounding song, thankfully. Didn't really like their last two albums; the newer sound and all, so it was kinda nice.
