Kids these days! No respect for Game Boy that innovated the handheld market! They wouldn't have their mobile phone games if the Game Boy, Game and Watches, and Microvision hadn't started somewhere! I hate touch game controls that mobile phones have. It makes most games, like platformers, barely playable with no tactile feedback, it's like playing Sega Genesis games with the Turbo touch 360 (minus the buttons). I absolutely love the Game Boy. But yeah, with the Game Boy, physical cartridges and systems that was made of Nintendium, you would get the full game, no stupid social networking app integration, no in app purchases, always works without stupid bugs or issues, no DRM, no "Beta" accesses, no access pass, etc.

My younger sibling (6) knows what a gameboy is. He wanted one for a long time.
Yes, the original gameboy (the OG if you will).

I'm fourteen and I used to love my Game Boy! It was my first gaming system, and I miss it greatly.  And it's the fact that one of the kids actually didn't know what tetris is. I know I'm fourteen and I got all these things like Playstation 3 and KIndles, but I started on a game boy, with Wario and tetris and Fairly Oddparents shows.

That did make feel a bit on the older side. The original Game Boy was a few years before my time, but I remember the GBC and GBA pretty well. I wonder if I had that attitude toward 80s technology as a kid...

Saw this awhile ago. Pathetic. Ugh, should not have watched that again. I forgot how self entitled some of those brats were... "I'd throw it straight in the trash and go back to the ipad". If you buy your kids an iDevice, just gtfo.

 

I was just playing me some Metroid 2 and Pokemon Red on mine the other day. Ahh the fondness for that green and black dot matrix screen.

 

I can actually 1up the Game Boy though. I have sitting right here on my desk, a Time Out (pre Mr. Game & Watch) Fireman Fireman game.

I honestly hated how narrow the SP was. I thought the Advance was perfect shape-wise, it just needed a backlight. There was the aftermarket Afterburner front-lit kit, but Nintendo shut them down hard.
