It started off with just one friend but like an infectious plague, it swept through our circle and soon most of us were infected. Smiles are contagious after all. Explaining my love of ponies to my family was a little harder. I told them what i'll tell everyone else who asks; it's a well written show with lovable characters, catchy music, sincere heartfelt moments of friendship, Q from star trek and it reminds me of cartoons from when i was a kid, cartoons that had a morale and taught you something, not random stupid humor and not-so-subtle homoerotic undertones. Anyone who pays attention to my facebook or twitter accounts would know, as well as anyone at work that enters the pit known as the dev annex. I have this site up during the work day ... and I have a Funko Big Mac on my desk. As much as I am on here, I really don't converse about the show all that much to people I know. I'm just as likely to talk about news, hobbies, movies, history, etc as I would be about MLP. So I guess it's all up to how much they pay attention. I AM however a quote thrower. And yes I probably throw a few MLP related quotes around daily. My staff aren't Bronies, but a few of them are familiar enough that they knew some of the more prominent quotes. My family knows that I watch the show, and I told four cousins about my interest on the show at a party before. I also told another cousin in LA that I was a brony. However two other friends might have a sneaking suspicion, I just don't know what they know. I generally don't talk about it with other people, besides that one friend I mentioned. I like to throw quotes and references into conversation with our group, which only he understands, so that's quite funny. Dovashy makes me think of soap xD.
