GCSE Results discussion

Hey there.

If you are at the end of High School (year 11) in the UK you will be getting your GCSE results on the 21st

To our cousins overseas these results are very important for getting into college and future education.

Are there any UK teens out there getting ready for their results?

Im finding it to be an anxious thing to think about. After so much work put into exams you have to wait 2 months for the results that will determine your future.

I ended up moving to london during my holiday so I have to take a train up to manchester and stay there for the week in order to get my results. On the plus side I will be going to BUCK while im there and I get a new computer if I have good enough grades to get into the courses that I wanted. :D

What do you guys think? This can be a place to tell your thoughts about how you think its going to turn out or how your feeling to finally get the results you need to go on to college.

You can also discuss other exam results that are being revealed soon if that is the case.

Im probably going to do A levels in college. Hopefully I don't get overwhelmed by them, they seem much more difficult than GCSEs.

Also grats on the results, happy to see you did well :)

I'm getting my results this Thursday also, and given my mock results I am looking forward to it very much. I'm looking forward to the next level of study too as I'm finally able to concentrate on subjects I enjoy. I will be taking:

1) Maths

2) Further Maths

3) Physics

4) Computing

"Humanity is the end; knowledge is the means; I will not rest until there are no more secrets to be discovered; I will not rest until there are no more ways to improve; I will not rest until there are no more problems to be solved; I will wield no weapon but my wits and intellect; With these weapons I will battle ignorance until the light of knowledge shines bright; When the light of knowledge shines upon us all, then I shall rest, and not before." - Atmomancer Creed

I did Computing too - but screwed up the exam because we weren't taught now to answer some of the questions!

Other than that, it was an interesting experience.

And as for A-levels, they really depend on the topics you take. I personally took German, French, Computing and Law. The last 2 were something totally new, but French and German weren't much of a step up from GCSE - we were mostly just building on the stuff we already knew from GCSE

I do poetry. Give it a read?

I was just about to make a topic on this! Glad I didn't. :)

I just picked up my GCSE results today, and I think I did quite well. Kicking myself over a few of them though, but I'm like that. (3 A*s, 2 As and 4 Bs)

It's a huge weight off my back, and I'm glad that I'll never have to do the subjects I hated ever again *coughfrenchandmusiccough*

But now it's off to college for me, where I'm going to study psychology, biology, graphics and fine arts. I've got my enrollment appointment tomorrow, so hope I get in! :) I'm kind of counting on it, or else I'll have nowhere else to go hahaha....
