Lavender Town is a stroll in the park after this:

...And this:

(Woo hoo! First post not counting the one in the welcoming plaza!)

EDIT: Darn it! I wanted to post more of the creepy soundtrack but I am limited to how much media I can post in one post!

Any track from Amnesia really (Except the Back Hall theme, its really soothing). ESPECIALLY the one with the water monster not chasing you. I swear, I hear the in-humane screams of the dead in that soundtrack, and it freaks me out.

Ugh, fucking water monster. I hate that thing... you have to throw LIMBS at it so it would stop following you... I remember running through the hallways filled with water so quickly I was sweating as soon as I escaped from there.

Oh yes definately the Lavender Town music. I paid no attention to it when I first played the game but god, now.... CREEPY AS HELL AFTER READING SO MUCH CREEPY PASTA.

Oh, and this is creepy. At least to me anyway.

Not really the way it's used in the game itself but when it randomly pops up on my MP3 (I have the soundtrack) I change songs so fast DX

Tonight I've become the most dazzling precious treasure

I am treasured over all the earth

Just look at what he's done

How he's laying down his life

Take this life, oh most dazzling precious treasure

Might as well share the creepy themes I was talking about before.

The Prison, the absolute worst level in the game :( . That place lasted much longer than it needed too.

The Storage, the first place where a grunt nearly killed (I already shared THAT experience in another thread)

This is a pretty creepy song from the crazy scary came Fatal Frame 2

It freaked me out because if you listen closely you hear voices and moans in the background.

Also we have the classic Lavender town theme, giving children nightmares everywhere!

^Now this theme is just screwed up. Which results in extreme scariness

^NOW THIS THEME. This theme just makes you panic... And well get scared. Like imagine that theme playing while you are getting chased by some psycho with a machete. It will make the situation 20% scarier.

Two tracks for one of my favorite games. One is more of a surreal track from the actual final boss of the game, the boss is more creepy than the song I think if you know the story, but I still love the song.

This one is bit more creepy in it's usage. Very good for ambient music

Last one I swear, this one is the final boss theme, which slowly works its way from really creepy and powerful build up, to extreme epicness to sum up the whole event.

I have too many media links in this post, gotta copy pasta :(

I hate those fucking regeneraters.

Oh yeah and

^This track was at it's creepiest when you read Lisa Trevor's dad's diary when you got stuck in a pit. I won't spoil what is written in the diary but this song makes it a thousand times more creepy.

This one made me scared to explore the destroyed Valhalla in MP3: Corruption. I love this series so much but it can give you a good jump even though it's not technically a horror game.

Now, the Resident Evil Remakes Guard house music (or better known as "18 more Rooms") isnt that scary. THE ORIGINAL version of that song is more creepy. by a long shot. Try being 9 years old, its 2 am, mom and dad are NOT home because you PROMISED them your a big boy and that plays... yeah... heres the original:

And lets not forget this little gem right here... song added the effect of random enemy pop-ups.

-snip-

The original 18 more rooms is a lot creepier yes, but when the new version is paired with the remake's atmosphere and notes is really what makes the song.

Akira Yamaoka can hit banjo strings with a hammer and make some pretty scary stuff. I think the track that scared me the most as a child was the Creepy Castle music in DK64. There's also the River Twygz theme from Super Paper Mario.

The soundtrack from Penumbra Overture.

It really makes you feel alone, in the depths of the void.

I can't think of a certain video game song I find creepy, but since this is about creepy video game music...

...I'm probably the only Pokémon fan who thought that the Lavender Town theme is nothing special. A lot of people either find it creepy or beautiful, but I can't say I care about it much, it's just like any other Pokémon town theme. Although as a kid, I believed the first time I played it I was laughing at how silly the Lavender Town theme is.

It's true, I laughed at many things in childhood video games that other kids would find terrifying. That one piano in Super Mario 64 is a good example of this. :P
