Shanks 10,816 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 A lot of baptists here, interesting. I regularly attended a local Catholic parish throughout my childhood and teen years and was very active in the community itself. My family was not the kind of family that simply went to mass every Sunday and then just forget everything on Monday. I attended Cathechism classes (kind of like Sunday school but in my case it was on Wednesdays) weekly and was heavily involved in charity some of it with the church some of it outside with my family. Throughout adulthood though my attendance and overall involvement went down, I rarely ever attend now. 1 Rarity Get's Cockroaches
SparklingSquirrels 21,341 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 Sometimes, maybe every couple months or so. I know that I should go to church more often, but honestly... I don't find it interesting. I'm not religious at all, and as much as I try to be... I just can't do it. I constantly question my faith while I'm at church, since it's always been in my nature to question things that don't make complete sense. I feel pretty bad for it actually :/ 3 ֍֎֍֎

Pat.Rio.T. 305 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 I am a christian, and I go to a North Stonington Bible Church. I know almost everyone there, and I can't imagine going to any other. It's not exactly a large church but it isn't small. 1 (Avatar drawn by Inky) My OCs: Pat.Rio.T. & River Serene
ZeroTwo 64 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 (edited) I have never been, because my family doesn't really have a religion... I would like to go sometime however, not for the religeous teachings, but just to see how it works. Edited August 24, 2014 by ZeroTwo

Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,499 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 Even when I did identify myself as a Christian (Abandoned that a long time ago) I always thought of church as a completely pointless thing. Like, yay, a building purely dedicated to something that could be done at home. I never saw the point. I always thought, if I were to worship some deity, I don't need some dedicated building and a group of people with me to do so. Just my opinion on it, churches seem like a waste of money to me. With that, no, I do not go to church. Never did when I was religious either.

QuasarBeam 135 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 I go to church with my mother and grandparents. My grandmother suffers from dementia and the church means everything to her, so I try to go and help her and my mom. They call it the "First Christian Church" of Fayetteville and I never really asked what denomination we belonged to! We just say "We're Christians!" so I guess it counts as non-denominational? My mom's side has always belonged to this kind of church but I guess I really liked how there was never any bashing of other denominations or other religions. There were never any super strict 'do-nots' that I ever heard and the general message was that anything loving and kind was 'godly' and vis versa. Virgil 685 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 I attend Calvary Hill Baptist Church, which holds to the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689. I'm also actually best friends with the Youth/Young Adult Pastor. I also am fairly certain that everyone there that knows what a Brony is, knows I am one . 1 I know there's a place you walkedWhere love falls from the treesMy heart is like a broken cupI only feel right on my knees.I spit out like a sewer holeYet still receive your kissHow can I measure up to anyone nowAfter such a love as this? Phoenix Flair 332 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 I'm a Mormon, but lately I've dropped off the church thing. It's just hard for me to keep showing up and sitting in a corner by myself the whole time. If I ever get out of this funk, though, I'll go back. Church is pretty sweetles.

Eloquence 2,076 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 (edited) I can remember going as a kid, especially on Easter sundays. My mother wanted us to attend regularly, but it was too hard for my little brother, given his autism. He just couldn't sit through mass, and the sunday school teachers never knew how to handle him. However, I certainly did not want for religion. I went to a Christian school for my entire childhood, which I now hold responsible for at least 35% of my psychological trauma. I don't have anything against such schools, but having this one tell me I was going to burn in hell forever for liking girls wasn't really the best thing for me... I've abandoned my Christian faith since, moving on to something that suits me better, but I still have nothing but warm feelings for Christians who are kind. In fact, I was involved with a Christian group all through high school, even when my faith began to change, because it was just a group of nice people and I enjoyed their company. Princess Periwinkle 3,775 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 This year I am going to a strange church in the middle of Atlanta. It meets in a weird place that's almost like an art gallery. Anyways, it's pretty interesting. Last year I went to one with a paster who had a British accent (love British accents), but it was farther away. StellarSarahh 56 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 For a long time I wasn't going to church. I would go to a lot of different youth groups with different friends. Kind of just trying to find what suited me best. It wasn't until I met my boyfriend and we started dating for awhile, that I went to church. I now go to church with his family every Sunday that I can. The church they are a part of is a Catholic church and I'm happy to be able to say that it ended up being everything I was looking for. I'm actually going to go through classes at our church to convert from Luthern to Catholic.
Nulln 755 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 I went to church when i was little and the guy asked what happens when i do something my parents don't like or something like that, and i said they hit me. and then my mom hit me and said i can't say that to people and we never went there again. then we went to a different one and the guy in charge of the kid room said we can't play pokemon and i argued with him for a good long while. ain't nobody taking away MY pokemon. :okiedokielokie: and then he said we all had to listen to him because our parents put him in charge of us, and if he told us to get a knife and chop our arms off in front of him, we had to do it or we'd go to hell. then i got moved to the older kid part and there was a really goth guy there i liked, but then he stopped going. and then all of the sudden my mom said i was no longer allowed to go to church. and now i do not go to church. Damn post of the year That's crazy stuff. I was forced to go back to church with my family for the better part of the last year and while fortunately we went to a very accepting and liberal Lutheran Church, it was still so boring and downright cringey at times (I can't stand Christian Rock ). Malinter 3,064 August 24, 2014 Share August 24, 2014 I attended church when i was in primary school but once I left for high school I never went again. Religion is not something I ever really needed and I could be doing far more productive things with my time than listen to a priest talking about nonsense in some moldy old church. On old churches however, i do like them for thier achitecture. There's one in York, England that is a bloody monolith of a church. I doubt we could even build anything like that anymore, My OC's: Malinter, Rahl, Vengeful impact & alias-the-marked-one First fic i've written since forever here Skype: Malinter@Outlook.com "Defeating a sandwich only makes it tastier." most legendary quote ever. DubWolf 17,263 August 25, 2014 Share August 25, 2014 As of March I've started going to church weekly as much as possible.... But then my faith took a big dip 2 months later, and from then on, everytime I go to church I get distracted about other things not related to church, or I might be thinking about how I want to interpret the bible based on my studies I had a while back, even though I shouldn't try to bend what I was taught back then with another affiliation that seemed reasonably accurate with their interpretations, but it was hard for me to accept what I was taught, like taking the red (or blue) pill from the matrix . Today I basically thought about other things half the time I was in church -_-. I wish I had my faith sorted out :/ . 2 Sig by Wolf, Handwriting by SparklingSwirls
