Fluttershy's Parents: Who are they?

Fluttershy

Now through out the season we have gotten

a peek at the past childhoods of the Mane Six.

 

In each,  getting a glimmer of who their parents were even if it was just

one or two.  Yet as season Five is about to come into our laps,  part of me

wonders and hopes to see something more on Fluttershy's family a bit!

 

We know Twilight's.

Seen Rainbow's dad

Know AJ's parents well are "gone or dead".

Seen all of Pinkie family on the farm.

Meet Rare's parents a few times.

Yet no Fluttershy's.....

 

So any theories?  Any idea's maybe?  Do you hope we might get some more background into Fluttershy's parents? Will Season Five give us some insights?  Do you want to know more?

I imagine she had an abusive dad, the mom may or may not be in the picture.  just from the way she acts, and cowers and does what anyone tells her to do.  She becomes more at ease around animals, since they're small and helpless, even more so than herself, which is probably a reason she is scared of dragons.  She is ok with bears and other large animals too though, so maybe dragons in particular just being back bad memories somehow.

 

that's probably too dark for the show, though.  that's just the way i see it.

Fluttershy's shyness likely stems from a paranoia after she got rid of her parents, so she can live with her animal friends. She is friends with animals that can get rid of a pony if asked and it would just look like a random animal attack.

Maybe her parents are afraid of everything too and that's how she learned to be that way. I imagine they were both miserable and terrified until they found each other. Their love grew as they learned to take strength from each other. When they had Fluttershy, the whole family found they were at their strongest when they were together.

 

When Fluttershy fell to the ground and was caught by that flock of butterflies, she found the thing that makes her happy by herself. That was when she decided to move to Ponyville. But her parents didn't share Fluttershy's love of the land so they stayed behind in Cloudsdale. In fact, they are both so afraid of solid ground that they can't face their fears and visit Fluttershy at her home. She visits them in Cloudsdale sometimes.

I think she was an orphan, or she didn't get along with her family. Fluttershy didn't even return to Cloudsdale or tell her parents goodbye. She expressed she didn't want to leave the ground. So the most likely case is that she didn't have anyone who would miss her. It is still my headcanon that she was an orphan until proven otherwise.

Flutters from severe emotional trauma stemming from her experiences as a Cloudsdale filly. She also has an oddly specific fear of Dragons and the fact that they can eat Ponies in one gulp. Dragons have also been shown to have their own cruel streak when it comes to ponies as teens. Then we see Flutters abusing her friends verbally, picking out just the righr things to say to make them cry.

Flutters suffers from severe emotional trauma stemming from her experiences as a Cloudsdale filly. She also has an oddly specific fear of Dragons and the fact that they can eat Ponies in one gulp. Dragons have also been shown to have their own cruel streak when it comes to ponies as teens. Then we see Flutters abusing her friends verbally, picking out just the right things to say to make them cry. That means she has experience with emotional abuse. She has no problems with Angel hitting her and smacking her face. That means she is used to physical abuse. She claims that ponies have done whatever they wanted to her and expected her not to complain.

 

My theory is flutters was abused in everyway you could think of by ponies and maybe her parents. She experienced a horrifying event involving dragons that detached her from ponies entirely. Maybe the loss of her parents by an adult dragons claw and she feels guilty about it.

I feel like Fluttershy is pretty underdeveloped as a character.  I really hope season 5 talks about her family and her fillyhood and stuff surrounding that because she is a really mysterious pony.

The thing sent before I was finished typing. What I was getting at is Flutters exibits all the signs of being physically and emotionally abused by someone close to her, and she exhibits a fear and self hate that could stem from something involving dragons and her parents and why she chose not to go back to cloudsdale.

I hope we'll find out sometime though... it's been kind of a plot hole since Cutie Mark Chronicles and since then I and many others have been dying to know where her parents were then and what they're doing now.
