Lucid watched as Anomaly simply ate the things meant to restrain her. It was pretty predictable at this point.

"Yea, I pretty much expected you to do that. Just like how I've expected Pringle here trying to tell me not to underestimate this stupid Sphinx."

He looked over to Onarche. It didn't take a genius that Lucid had a problem with her.

"If you think that sphinx is getting anything out of this, you are making a fatal mistake. She's going to defeated one way or another. Be it that she surrenders, gets trapped for eternity, or even dies, and not because of me, but because of Discord. Enslaving all ponies would imply that Fluttershy is enslaved and even if she were allowed to not be enslaved, she'd to be VERY unhappy to see the other ponies enslaved, and when Fluttershy is unhappy, Discord is unhappy, and when Discord is unhappy... the sphinx will wish that she was dead."

This logic did make sense. Lucid knows that Fluttershy and Discord are close. He turned is attention to Discord.

"Am I correct?"

Discord glanced at Onache briefly, but decided to let it go. As long as she didn't actually hurt Fluttershy (mentally or physically), he saw no reason to interfere.. yet.

As it is, the chaos spirit went back to juggling some poky sea urchins, each ending up with a new color or pattern as they left his paws/claws.

Sen wasn't so put off by Rosa's rambling so much as he pitied him. Lin seemed to handle things better but just looking at her didn't lead to any solid conclusion. If anything, Rosa's state right now was indicative that Lin would probably be feeling something similar. She was better at hiding her emotions when she is in her right mind, but Sen only had to look back at the swamp to remind him about how bad things were.

"Let's give Rosa some time," Lin pulled her brother back and took him aside. He didn't mind it, even agreeing with her but whatever happened in the swamp bothered him so much, he couldn't help bring it up.

"Lin, what happened in there? How are you holding up?"

His sister turned away for a moment, now letting her grief take hold. Her face turned sullen and forlorn, trying to hold back her tears. "Sen, I saw... I saw mother and father. What Solasan did... No one should ever have that happen to them."

Sen held Lin in a tight embrace and wept, not needing to be reminded of their parents' unfortunate fates. Whatever they did couldn't bring them back, but all they could do is mourn and try to move on. If Sen were to see that sight, he'd be stuck worse for wear and utterly break him. It was a good idea to leave him behind for a while, and for now, it was just as good a moment to rest and regain their composure. Even Lin's current emotional state was an infective one, leaving her brother just as affected as her. For now they were content to wait; Rosa probably needed some reassurance as well. The two didn't know how but seeing him as he is, the only thing they wanted now was to comfort him however they can.

Now Fluttershy was stunned and silent, very much afraid of what the queen would want with them as slaves. The pegasus wouldn't make a good one, having her freedom taken away to do menial labor at best and whatever terrible thing the queen had in mind at worst. Still, she was somewhat regretful about coming along, not because she couldn't be of help, but rather to get her friends to come along.

She was a lot more comfortable having them tagging along despite having Discord around. But that would also bring the risk of having all of them captured. Fluttershy didn't like that idea very much. No help from them and though Lucid's argument was sound, it might also come off as a challenge, and the pegasus wasn't the type to resort to violence. For now, she'd wait and see how things turn out but something told her this was likely going to lead to some worst-case scenario. Perhaps having Discord watching nearby meant there might be a way out, or a the very least, an advantage.

The gem floated a little as the magic poured into it, the smoke billowing inside it. Electric sparks hit the ground as the gem glowed lightly, this element charging up much faster that it should've if it was any other object.  Emerald may notice this, though Sapphire was too overwhelmed with magic to really try and point it out.

Iron smiled a bit at the sight of Benny, walking ahead over to him. "Hey Benny, how have you recovered?" He asked, showing a concerned expression. It had been long enough that he forgot when he last saw the dragon, he knew it wasn't long ago, but it was still important to know if his comeraids were doing well.

"Chow, I know I can't fight her on my own, or with you especially." She said, knowing he'd retort that question. "I'm just saying we can't attack her if there's a chance she has some upperhoof on us. I'm too weak to fight something that could take my body, surprised she hasn't done that already."

"Please don't like, put that in my head."

Astral sighed, looking away. "Sorry, we just have no real chance to win this. Though we never did." While you could say this wasn't true, if they did have a chance to win, they should've already. Warlock overpowered them from the start. "If she does come to us, what do we do?" She asked, looking to Chow.

Nada swam around in the dark waters of the lake, singing like there was no tomorrow, it was the only thing to keep her sane in the solitude of Everfree. It had been a while since she had seen other creatures other than Everferee creatures who came to drink the water of her lake, though she wasn't sure how long, since she had lost count long time ago due the lack of anything in the forest that would show the time of day.

She still remembered the day she had came here like it was yesterday, she had gone to the pony-village like she always had done, ready to sing for the ponies like she had done so many times before, but when she got there, she learned that Adagio Dazzle and two others had started harvesting power from the ponies in mass, something Nada had stopped long time ago, and ponies weren't too happy about that. She had followed from the shadows when six ponies had fought them, and mercilessly banished the three sirens somewhere, never to see again. She still remembered the horror she had felt when she had seen the three of her kind disappear, she knew that if she didn't hide, same would happen to her, she knew ponies were too scared to recognize that she wasn't like those three.

Nada then had proceeded to hide in the Everfree forest, she had lived in a cave at first, but she had then found the lake she now inhabited, sometimes she wished she could go back in time and could go and sing for the ponies again, but she couldn't, not only because she had seen their true colors when they hadn't given her kind a change to redeem, but also because she would most likely meet the same fate if she did.

Nada didn't hear the pony who was coming towards her lake, she was in too deep in the water and her singing would have drowned the rustle of the vegetation anyways.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ruby stared as stallion walked past her, but here eyes weren't on the stallion, no, what interested her was in between the stallion's teeth, a bag, bag that Ruby could tell contained something she wanted, something...shiny. The mare shook her head and looked away, don't think about it, that would be stealing, they don't like it, stealing, that was one of the things Ruby didn't like in the ponies, apparently it was punishable to take what you want and endorsed to give more than you get.

Ruby was a dragon, she had came from her homeland to Equestria in hopes of getting more substance to her life, and more importantly, to get more things that shine to her collection, and though the first part of her plan had been a success thanks to the transformation spell that allowed her to transform between her real form and her pony form, which by pony standards was quite beautiful, the second part wasn't that easy, and she had managed to collect only a small pile of things in the few months she had been here, in fact, it was so little that she didn't even need the cave she had made to be her home alongside the small shack she had gotten as a disguise home, because all she had fit in a locked wooden box she was carrying on her back.

The biggest cause of her lack of success was things the ponies called economy and laws, which made so you weren't allowed to just take things without getting in trouble, and instead, you had to give money for things, which was nonsensical to Ruby, because why would she give several things for one thing, especially when she wanted to keep the things she was supposed to give.

Ruby continued walking when the stallion was gone, and she headed to the direction he had came from, soon seeing a some kind of wagon with a pony and a bird....griffon, like they were called next to it, but more importantly than that, she sensed something, there was more of what the stallion had carried with him, more coins....did he get them from here? She walked towards the wagon curiously, maybe she could take some, even if they didn't want to give them, it was out of the view of most ponies, so she could try to take it anyway.

KARMIC FATE

Karmic, against her better wishes, struggled against the air that captured her. Her limbs flailed about in a haphazard manner while she kept her mouth shut in case any bugs flew in.

'Oh, calm down. It's just a simple flight,' Atzy groaned, and Karmic visibly winced at feeling of a facehoof.

"What ... what are you going to do?" Karmic asked slowly when she was finally set down and looked up at the sphinx.

WATTS MECHANO

"I only had to find a gyro balancer and some other equipment for a couple of inventions I had a thought on," Watts replied with a smile. "I can try to find them here but I normally go to Manehattan for these things. My regular supplier is on a break so I figured I would go to Canterlot instead to see if I can find the same things."

TWILIGHT SPARKLE

"I'm going to ask it questions and if it doesn't like them, then we will go into the temple anyway," Twilight told Lucid, turning towards with a slight frown. "And the 'rainbow power thing' as you put it was a one time effort coalesced from wondrous efforts me and my friends did. It only stopped Tirek as a last resort and will not work with this Sphinx. For one, all six of the Element Bearers are not here. Only two. Fluttershy and myself. Besides, there's a negation field of magic around us and this Sphinx." Twilight gave a start though when the Sphinx spoke to her and she turned back to the creature. "Can we go into the temple, please, if that's all it takes?"

AURORA LIGHTS

Aurora followed everypony else towards the temple and the Sphinx. Getting within a certain distance though, she felt her disguise shed itself, revealing that she was in fact a changeling instead of a griffin as she claimed. She quickly looked herself over, thankful for having drifted to the back of the group for the moment. "Oh no," Aurora squeaked to herself and tried to get her disguise back up, but to no avail. She did freeze though when she felt the changeling enslaver glare in her direction. She slowly turned her head and face the changeling, quivering in her chitin.

The Sphinx smirked and lowered herself down to the princesses level flicked her tongue out giving the purple alicorn a long lick revealing the problem with the question she posed in the first place.

she then continued to sit down removing her illusion all along while having her head tilted. "Very strange question that, well from my perspective anyway. From your own narrow minded view it is a very acceptable question to ask one as such as myself, though you think that structure over there is the temple?" she asked curious. She grinned her classic grin, "What if I told you, your already inside the temple? You've been inside ever since you got in this desert." she giggled pointing to the inside of her temple to Twilight who could now see it. "Lets keep it our little secret shall we" she cackled.

After all the purple princess seemed to be a few steps behind everyone else, she needed some help catching up.

Discord looked around shiftily and discreetly shoved the ball of yarn he'd conjured moments before into a random fold of the space-time continuum before nonchalantly walking away from it and whistling innocently.

Elsewhere, in another part of space-time, a pony was battling a giant turducken.. that was on fire. Suddenly, a giant ball of yarn fell from a fold of the space-time continuum and bounced away, prompting the flaming turducken to chase it while barking like a dog. The pony stared after the odd creature, sat down and contemplated their life up to that very moment... Before promptly face-hoofing and walking away. "Yeah, nope. I'm done with this bunch of horseapples." The pony could be heard saying as they walked away, discarding their sword and other mystical gear. "I'm going to go do something normal.. like apple farming." As the armor fell away, it revealed a blank orange coat of fur... Which eventually shimmered and changed to reflect the pony's true calling: ripe apples on a healthy tree.

Back in this universe: "And that's how the Apple Family Legacy truly began." Discord said with a grin, likely confusing any but those privy to the fourth wall and that which lay beyond.

The Sphinx decided to play that game, "Well if that's how they began, let me show you how it ends" she remarked flicking her tail and opening a swirly portal of another parallel universe showing Canterlot and the Castle of the Princesses. It also showed the lands beyond.

It was a gloomy setting like it was in the twilight hours however it was actually at Noon. The sun slowly flickered and then finally went out and then there was darkness a eternal darkness that pressed upon the inhabitants for generations to come. The only light was present was a low glimmer coming from a strange pyramidal shaped object that drew all of pony kind towards it and a familiar shaped Sphinx was there to great her guests though this one instead of having a large golden crown had instead a dark grey one that glowed with a faint light.

The Sphinx flicked her tail and the portal collapsed, she then adjusted her crown which had darkened slightly though soon regained its original composition though was it slightly darker? Interesting.

"End of one era, start of a new one. Just more darker" she smirked.

On 8/30/2018 at 6:21 PM, Lucid_Nightlight said:

"Hold your horses, Sphinx. I've done some slight digging, meaning I read your mind and you think I'm a draconequus. I am a poquus. I might be part draconequus, that is a possibility, but I am a poquus."

There was another thing he needes to say.

"You think you are showing hostpitality?  Hostpiality my hoof! How is trying to enslave Equestria even close to showing hostpitality?"

Bringing up negotiations was interesting. She wants a counter offer She'll get a counter officer!

A suit and tie appeared on Lucid he was ready for negotiations.

"First off, unless you can level an entire supercontinent, good luck being able to have power over what I can and cannot do. Now, as for the counter offer, how about you surrender, and I let you walk away unharmed. Of course, I will show you where you will end up if you refuse."

He opened a portal to what seemed to be some sort of void to show her what he was talking about. He then closed it without shoving anyone in.

"Certainly you wouldn't want to end up there, would you?"

There goes Lucid, underestimating the enemy again.

The Sphinx blinked down at the poquus. "Can you jump start a dying sun? Prevent a moon from crashing into the atmosphere? Stand on your head?" she queried tilting her head and standing on it. "No I thought not, because its rather had to predict when that might occur" she giggled going back to her normal self. She continued on "Saving the many for the enslavement of the few is a logical conclusion from my perspective." she answered him with a frown. She smirked and flicked her tail showing him another different universe this time more industrial with lots of dead ponies lying around. She flicked though many different scenarios of different time periods, plague, war, famine all down to some choice that ponykind had made which resulted in there own demise at some point within there relative timestream.

She stopped flicking though portals like a channel hopper with a remote and tilted her head. "I've decided intervention in this period for this timeline is crutal from having these scenarios play out. Your enslavement results in your survival 99/100 times, disregarding the timeline where as I speak a meteor smashes into the moon which then smashed into Equestria and destroys all life as we know it, before I even finish explaining this to you" she said pausing.

"Oh good its not this timeline, Though your parlour tricks are rather amusing, please I would like to cut you down to size" she giggled with a purr. She flicked her tail and frowned trying to think of a way to challenge him.

"If your so powerful, turn Discord into a microwave" she said with a smirk,

17 hours ago, Blitz Boom said:

"A counter offer to a virtually unlimited amount of willing slaves, to do her every bidding? You would fail to find something of more value than that, pony."

The Sphinx blinked at Onache and frowned, "Only two things currently can top that to myself. A answer to a question and a permanent solution to answer that question" she remarked to the Changeling, she flicked her tail "That would be the only thing that would make me change my course of action, unless any of you have answers to my question then you will be enslaved by this here changeling.

The Sphinx glanced at them all, "now if anyone knows why my crown is going darker, then please. Explain. I know the why but not the who or it" she remarked, if she was given a failed explanation then she would simply do as commanded by the Changeling.

What the Sphinx said to Lucid got him at first, but there was one thing he knew that he assumed the Sphinx didn't.

"You're powerful, but do you grow more powerful? Will you ever have the power to surpass the multiverse? What you fail to realize is that my power shall continue to grow while your power is stagnant. As for saving worlds, I've saved many worlds and stopped many great evils, and by the looks of it... I'm about to stop another great evil. Now, turning Discord into a microwave? I'm not a big fan of friendly fire."

He also had something else to add.

"And MY enslavement won't happen either way. I live in a different universe, I merely visit this one because I lived here previously. Even with this fact, I cannot allow you to destroy or enslave this world. Attempting to so... side effects may include: extreme pain, being turned into a purse, being turned into many cat fur hats, and even death."

An anvil twice the size of the sphinx's head landed just 2 centimeters from the Sphinx.

"That was a warning shot, milk drinker."

The smack from the clipboard upon his head wasn't that particularly painful, but he rubbed it nonetheless.  It was more a principle of instinct at this point that he was even rubbing the top of his head as ponies usually do to such things.  The touching seemed to continue though as Felicia went to poke him for attention.  Granted it always wasn't in anyway painful per say, but again he found himself rubbing the spot he was poked.  A light poke from her as still pretty strong.  He knew his purpose though and figured before even bringing her here that it he was to be the translator.  Not having seen the reaction the spider had upon running into Rusty, he wasn't as aware of her instinctual reaction.  Now turning to face the pair as they were now behind him.

"She says hello and that you have a beautiful coat as well."

Already having had to deal with her limited vocabulary, it would probably end up better if he filled in the blanks as best he could.  Rusty looked over her shoulder at him and then back to the mechanical spider.

"How can you understand her?  All I heard was a bunch of noise like when the crane is startin to break down."

Rising Dusk simply shrugged.

"Molotov hasn't made her a voice box yet.  I learned her language this morning."

"Like that time you learned Old Ponish over a weekend?"

The stallion nodded.  A useful skill that he tried to never take for granted.  Letting Felicia continue the conversation.

"She wants to let you know she isn't here to harm anypony.  Simply to learn by meeting others outside the workshop."

"Well, I'm glad to hear that."

The mare looked a little more relieved, even though she trusted Dusk would never bring something harmful out into the city if he wasn't sure.  Reaching up with the edge of the clipboard, she scratched her head under her hard hat.  Not something she was all that prepared for when waking up this morning.  Honestly though, what pony is suppose to be prepared for coming to work and meeting a mechanical spider with a mind of its own.

"Yes, this is where Molotov and I got the Deep Iron we were using this morning."

Dusk confirmed, drawing Rusty's attention to him again.

"That pony you brought here yesterday is her creator?"

Again Dusk nodded.  Turning her attention back to Felicia, she was rather curious.

"What do you plan on doing out in Equestria, Felicia?"

So the gem were taking in the empowerment faster than normal items? Nothing too unexpected, considering what it were. Even if it were the Element of Deceit and not Black Magic, it were still a powerful artifact that could contain a vast amount of magical potential, and though it's absorption rate were high, it wouldn't break it.

Sapphire on the other hoof though, may end up momentarily crazed if she gained an influx like this too fast, so after a few more seconds, Emerald would stop her chanting and watch as things calmed down. It had only given about 2/3's of the potential, but considering the alternative, and how much Sapphire would have gained regardless, it would even out well enough. Worst case scenario, the elder sister would need a little more time to make a form, or have a few less spells to cast before flickering back to this form. Minor setbacks, though Emerald stood ready to defend herself in case some other momentary side effects would show.

Benny rose his head as he heard the new general address him, still cringing slightly from the latest application of his disinfectant.

"Hey there General Wings, and G-I mean, Advisor Dew. Still sounds wrong to not address you the old way, sir."

"It is strange to not have the title anymore, but things need to change eventually."

"Guess so. And I'm doing fine, General Wings. The nurses didn't see anything too bad, but I've been ordered to take it easy and clean the wounds every half hour, so I'm not getting much done beyond keeping the others on track."

Benny wrapped gauze around his pamls as he spoke  done with tending to these things for the time being. He could have only done this every three hours or so normally, when he kept insisting on working in the forge, it had to be cleansed a good deal more often.

"If they're on track, I assume you have them working on General Wings's armor?"

"No, I got that finished before... Well, you know. It still needs a polish though, but I can get it if you want to see it, General?"

Benny looked questioningly at Dew quickly before awkwardly turning to Wings instead. He were gonna need some time to get used to this new situation.

"...I ain't useless..."

Chow grumled a little to himself after the sting to his ego. Sure, he might not be a powerhouse against them magic nutters  but that didn't mean he were just a liability. He'd fight just as fierly as anypony.

On the topic of him being a liability though... Now there was something else entirely, and not in a good way. Not something which he'd want to really talk about, but he did feel somewhat more of a burden than a boon currently, especially if they were on the defense. Frankly, best he could do were likely to sacrifice himself.

Actually...

"If she comes for us before we're ready for her, you'll use me as vessel bait to try 'n pin her down long enough to either seal her back in there, or use that container we got to pour her into.

I don't like thinking 'bout having her use me like that again, but if it comes down to it, I'll take one for the team  though I'd prefer if we stuck together everypony and get another plan rolling. And I'm still saying that first step of that is to get something to eat, and then have a rest. We're gonna need our strength for this, not rumbling tummies and yawns for miles.

And y'know, perhaps she haven't taken you over because of Sapphire? Whatever the one we met were real or not, Emerald seems obsessed with her, and keeping you intact to use in some form with her. I dunno what her plans are, but there might be something there, yeah?"

So setting himself of for a potential repossession... What in the great sky above's name had this gal done to his sense of self-preservation?

======================================

@Rising Dusk

"𝔼𝕩𝕒𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕖 𝕤𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣𝕒𝕝 𝕗𝕦𝕟𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕔𝕠𝕝𝕝𝕖𝕔𝕥 𝕕𝕒𝕥𝕒 𝕨𝕙𝕚𝕝𝕖 𝕕𝕠𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕚𝕥. 𝔽𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕗𝕦𝕟𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕥𝕠 𝕓𝕖 𝕕𝕖𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕖𝕕."

Felicia had wished for little more than simply to be free, and find her own path in *life*, yet what came beyond that, she had no idea about. It depended on several amounts of data she had yet to gather, including most importantly, what would come from her learning among ponies, and whatever function she chose to follow. Not unlike how ponies sought their meaning in life through chasing of their cutie marks, then made a decision on how to use their found potential to live their lives. All she wanted were basically the same, and hadn't been out for long enough to determine what her first function/experience should be.

"𝕄𝕪 𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕠𝕣 𝕞𝕒𝕕𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕞𝕖. 𝕊𝕞𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕤𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣, 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕒 𝕤𝕞𝕒𝕝𝕝 𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕕. 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕡𝕠𝕟𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤 𝕥𝕠𝕠, 𝕓𝕦𝕥 𝕠𝕗 𝕞𝕖𝕒𝕥. 𝔻𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕠𝕨𝕟 𝕠𝕟𝕖?"

Probably one of the creepier ways to ask somepony if they had foals, but as the conversation had gone on functions, creations, and what to want for said creations, it felt like the logical line of questions from here for Felicia. Collecting data on what ponies wanted from their offspring could be valuable in comparing situations, and gaining another point of view to add to her database, about the relationship between parent and foal, or creator and creation.

"I were left to wait for your generals, after the asked for my aid. Boredom have taken hold, so I wish to learn of your situation, half-blood. I know only ponies and changelings to have the relationship of prey and predator, so your mixture is surprising."

Enzo had little interest in actually hurting any of these ponies that he now mingled with, as so far, it seemed to be his ultimate end to live near or among them, and exchange a home for some degree of servitude. Not something others of his kind would be proud to go through, yet he had spend nearly all of his life locked in a temple, primarily alone. His standards were low enough to consider this a possible pat h for himself, at least for the foreseeable future. An experience if you would, and not one that were likely to consume him. His kind could live as long as dragons, so spending a few years or even decades on this were akin to a few days in a new job for these short-lived beings.

@Catpone Cerberus

Popping her head out of a bush, Berry sneaked closer to the center of the singing.

She had to be close now, as it had gotten considerably easier to hear the closer she had gotten to this little clearing, and seeing how the voice had not yet lowered or wandered further away, she had apparently not been spotted yet. Seemed like the enthralled entity/robot she had seen before had not yet reported back. Or this were a trap, but then it'd be mallet 'O-clock! Nopony was getting her in restraints again.

There didn't seem to be a whole lot here though,a s she looked around. Some rocks, grass, a lake, small stuff like this, but nothing obvious like a fake boulder or something else that may hide a mind controlling device.

As the song went on though, and she loked on, she started to see some vibrations coming from the lake itself, which had to mean... Ah, of course! Water lead vibrations well, and the conspiracy were sure to have known how to do this to also keep the sound intact. The machine were underneath the waves, though that might also mean that when the enthralled came here, they were taken down there to be rebuild into machines. Gruesome, but what else could you expect from the group that ran all of Equestria, and perhaps even beyond, in total secrecy? She had seen their methods already being used in heinous ways. Why, their involvement in the spread of fruit cake, and their sinister function alone... *shiver*

No time to waste on that one though. Right now, she had a machine to expose, so Berry snuck over to the edge of the lake as quiet as could be, then suddenly showed her entire head into it and looked with big eyes, trying to see the sinister contraption that had eluded her so far. If she couldn't see anything, she'd put down the hammer for a bit, and instead swim some way down to try and find something. One way or another, she'd find what she had come looking for.

Marley caught sight of the one heading towards them before Spicy did, and let out a small whistle to direct his boss's attention towards the newcomer.

"Well howdy there, stranger. Come here to challenge the poker champion? Or are you perhaps in need of a loan? No need to be shy, we can get you sorted either way."

All of the bits that Spicy had with her were locked up inside the wagon, so there wouldn't really be something that could just be nicked anywhere in the open. She had learned the hard way to keep her finances under better oversight than that, even if a big pile of bits did tend to draw the attention of those who weren't sure if she could accommodate their loan needs, or foals who got mighty curious about who would set up something like that, and wouldn't mind earning a few bits carrying out a few fetch runs.

The only thing out here that were in the open and looked rather shiny were a pocket watch on the tree stump, connected to a chain in Spicy's jacket. It had seen better days, but she made sure to keep the old thing polished and working, as it held some sentimental value, if not monetary. It'd have to be gold for that, not bronze.

She had just checked the time when the pony had shown up, so it were still out in the open, and glistering against the sunlight, but Ruby would pretty much have to rip Spicy's entire jacket off for a chance at nicking this, and the bulky griffon and the pegasus herself were unlikely to just sit there and take that.

"Tell me, what brings you to Spicy Rolls? Let's hear it sugar."

It took a good five minutes for Rosa to gather his things, and things had improved somewhat. He still had a harrowed look and slumped shoulders, but he had stopped mumbling to himself, and he didn't feel like breaking down and crying as easily anymore. Yet he were going to need a lot of time to truly get over this, and quite honestly, he feared having to sleep after this trip. His nightmares had been bad enough sometimes when it came to confronting what he thought were the consequences of his life, but now he had vivid representations that had practically been thrown at him and rubbed in his face. They weren't going to just vanish anytime soon.

The last time he could remember feeling anything near this vulnerable and beaten down were when he had last been to truly meet his father. Not the final time, where the old stallion's mind had truly gone, but the one before that, when there were a few lucid moments between the questions, rambling, and confusion over who he were talking to. Rosa had done some things he were not proud off after seeing his once proud father reduced to quickly vanished fragments of the stallion he had once been, and it had left him a wreck for weeks. This time he hoped to be more steeled against it, but he still lacked what Lin had in the same situation. Family to lean on, and tell him that everything was going to be alright.

He had quite literally lost the only family member he knew of back then with his father, and had lost what few friends he had left in his downward spiral, because he didn't know how to ask for help, but just push everypony away. Now he technically had others near, but he found himself trying to put the pieces back together on his own again, unable to get himself to reach out, even as he saw them huddle together and find comfort from one another, amidst the pain of whatever they had talked about. Rosa hadn't been paying attention enough to listen, though it were likely for the best. Knowing he had exposed Lin to a painful memory about her parents would have just pushed more guilt and regret on him for putting her through that experience.

"...When you're ready, we should leave. It's not safe here."

Rosa spoke whilst he cleaned off the worst dirt from his blades in the grass. He'd have to clean them better later, when they had a safe campsite. Had to keep your tools of their trade ready and sharp, just like his father had taught him.

A scared changeling? Urgh, another weakling then. Here Onache had hoped for somepony more promising that were just hiding until the right time to backstab the ponies, but sadly, it were just another drone of the kind that were not welcome in her hive. Even as menial labor, this one would likely be worth little, compared to the trouble of keeping her under control. A shame, but sadly not surprising.

"Tell me drone, who is your queen?"

Onache knew quite a few of the queens, from the rare meetings where most of the stronger queens got invited to attend, and some of the lesser ones attended at their mercy. It wasn't often this happened, as the hives preferred to be separate mostly, but there were exception to everything, and Onache had gotten a look of many of the other ones around in those situations. She might be disliked greatly, even among her own kind, but when her hive last ran, the strength of her drones and her success in keeping her hive both strong and dominant over any relatively nearby pony settlement, meant that her good will could be viable at times, and in return, she tended to release whatever maggots she had found snooping around from other hives near hers. A sign of good will from her side, if you would.

As were it that she didn't look at Fluttershy currently, in case Discord thought hat she were going to enslave his friend too. She had already had the displeasure of feeling small in his presence once already. She wouldn't risk it happening once more by making her actions towards pony kind in general, seem like it applied to his favorite of their kind too. Which speaking off, the little insect of a half-blood began to insinuate things that told otherwise. Telling him off would be a wise move.

"There are plenty of ponies to pick from. That Discord gets to chose some for his own ends means little to the larger picture."

Meanwhile, Anomaly had stopped eating the food and plates, to finally pay some more attention to the escalating feud between the sphinx and Lucid. The former seemed to be aching for a fight at this point, and honestly, that could be pretty entertaining. Certainly more so than watching the pink bunny clean herself in the water bowl, that was for sure, and that had been the only other piece of entertainment.

Or okay, there were the changelings starring one another down, but one of them were pretty mean-spirited, and the other one were a bit on the shaky side. Definitely needed to come along for some changeling tipping later on, which were still the plan regardless of whatever or not Aurora were actually one herself. Small details.

And she supposed there were also how Twilight was getting a second large lick within the past five minutes now. Fluttershy was... There, and kinda quiet in it, as she glanced at the changeling queen for now, but this was just getting into too many details, without it mattering. The main scene were still the ensuing fight that seemed to be getting ready.

The falling anvil surely set it up for catastrophe now. Pretty big challenge to drop it near somepony like that.

They all also got a look of the sphinx meddling with portals, but there were no clear idea of what exactly this were about. Some sort of ed she claimed, but little more were really revealed, beyond the sphinx apparently being a ruler of a sun-less world. Big aspirations there, though also rather boring. This should be more fun, or just go into an all out brawl already.

"Why're everything so doom and gloom now? Come on, we've got load of powerful creatures here and lots of place. Let's make it a party instead."

For a while the pegasus was silent and... staring. Moon Glow hummed to herself quietly and patiently, her mouth pursed into a thoughtful pout waiting for the mare to acknowledge her. The moment felt much longer to the unicorn who was starting to grow uncomfortable; from behind her bangs she was looking between the other's face and the strange rodent skull draped around her neck, appearing to simply stand there just as still and perplexed as the other mare.

"S-" Moon Glow was cut off when the pegasus began to speak and she offered a polite smile. The wave was reciprocated with a small, bashful shake of her hoof. Was this part of her ethereal friend's plan?

"Oh! Yeah- I'm fine. I took some advice I shouldn't have and, well, here I am! Heh heh... heh. The name's--" she paused. The sockets of the skull had glimmered in such a way that caught her attention and strangled the words in her throat. Much to her surprise, the skull seemed to be looking back; through the veil of her mane coifed purposefully over her eyes, she attempted to test her strategy of concealment. Could, whatever it may be, see into her without needing to look into her eyes? Her theory was tested as she continued to speak, smiling more genuinely, shaking her head. She never broke her contact with the mysterious glowing sockets. "Sorry, I think I'm a little tired. I'm Moon Glow and I'm trying to get to Ponyville."

A paranormal chorus seemed to whisper. While the unicorn could not discern what was being said, exactly, she tried to put out her spiritual feelers to try and find the source. Moon Glow tried to pretend she hadn't heard a thing but she may have seemed a little too intent on listening. "Do you... know where I could find it?"

If there was one thing Lucid knew, he did not like Onache in the slightest. That changeling was nothing but trouble in his mind. By the looks of it, even his pet bearded dragon Pringle didn't trust the changeling.

"What's that, Pringle? Yea, that's a great idea."

There was a mischievous grin on Lucid's face. He stomped his hoof causing mime clothing and makeup to appear on the changeling. He then made an invisible box around her.

"Alright, now we have some sort of entertainment, I hope you guys like mimes!"

He looked to Anomaly who has just suggested a party.

"What are you talking about? Messing with the sphinx and changeling is a party! Perhaps if you ask nicely I could maybe let you temporarily borrow a small fraction of my power and let you join in on this party."

Nada swam and sang around some more, only her black silhouette showing from the water even when she got closer to the surface, blue was rather good camouflage in the dark water of Everfree, not that there usually was anything to hide form. She suddenly stopped, she saw a small silhouette on the edge of the lake, and though her eyes were pretty well accustomed to the darkness, she couldn't make up what it was until she swam little closer, just far enough so her own silhouette wasn't visible for the visitor.

When Nada had gotten close enough to see what was looking into the water, she froze, but kept singing so she wouldn't alarm the newcomer to the fact that they had been spotted, it was a pony, had they finally found her? were they here to banish her? she could see only one pony, but it easily could be a trap, a lure to get her out of her hiding place, she wasn't going to fall for that, so she just lurked underwater watching the new visitor just outside their vision, hoping that she was wrong.

But to her shock, the pony didn't stay on the shore, but instead started swimming after they had put something on the ground....that's it, she wasn't going to stand this, if this was a trap, then she would fight to her last breath, but she wasn't going to let a pony just intrude her home. Nada swam to the bottom of the lake, stopped singing, and charged towards the pony, almost singing her warning  "Geeeeet ooouuut!!!". Her intend wasn't to hurt the pony, she just wanted to scare them away, and if they didn't start moving back towards the shore, she would push them away from her lake.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Poker champion? loans? Ruby hadn't paid attention to the actual wagon so she hadn't seen the sign, thus she didn't understand right away what the pony had said, not that she really listened anyways, because her eyes were stuck on the pocked watch shining next to the pony. She could tell right away that her original plan of just taking things wouldn't work out, she could feel the pile of bits inside the wagon, and that was enough to tell her that they were probably locked away, and even the watch she was quite obviously staring at with greed in her eyes, was attached to the pony, so getting them in pony form would be almost impossible, and turning into a dragon would rise too much attention, she wasn't stupid.

Sugar. Ruby repeated in her mind, before answering the question, it was one of the pony terms she didn't quite understand, she had figured it was some weird compliment nickname, but what it actually meant was unknown to her. The name also bothered her, was the wagon called Spicy Rolls, or was the pony Spicy Rolls, in either case, all it made Ruby to think about was some kind of weird pony food, pony names were sometimes rather weird, she herself was called Ruby Shine, but only the first part was her actual name, and she had just added the latter so the name would sound more pony like. She solved her thoughts quickly and answered, but she was still staring at the pocket watch, her desire to get her hoofs on it being clear as day from her expression "Just got curious, saw a stallion walking from this direction with bunch of bits, so wanted to know what was going on."

The siblings didn't spend too long with each other, clearly looking at Rosa with more concern than that for themselves. If anything, they wanted to do something just to let him know they are willing to cheer him up. There's still the trek to the next site they'll stop at for the evening and the rest of it to do what they wished, though their initial plans for that wouldn't push through now. Lin picked her canteen and placed it in her saddle bag, Sen approached and nodded, letting them know he was ready to leave. Before they could, however, he looked to his sister and gestured with his head pointing to Rosa. Lin smiled and nodded, wiping away any tears from her eyes.

"Rosa, if you - if there's anything you need from us, someone to talk to or to listen, or to just make things easier for you on the trip ahead, you can ask me or Lin. We'll be happy to do it."

The siblings looked to Rosa and smiled, hopefully showing him they were genuine in their concern. Admittedly, they had no idea if they were doing it right. Sen was hesitating for a moment before he started, even rehearsed the line in his head before he spoke. They had to respect Rosa's personal space and maybe this wasn't exactly the right time to ask about what he saw in the swamp. It was Rosa's right to speak or not about something that clearly was more than just a disturbing thought. If he wasn't comfortable with it, they'll leave it be. Still, the thought that after this, they'd stick around and help him out remained. If finding his brother could help, it was something worth doing.

But now was the time for them to move on and out of the swamp. Perhaps they might come across something on the road to distract them from the harrowing experiences.

"Is making the sphinx angry a good idea? She asked us about her crown going dark and I don't think we should be giving her the impression that we're going to disregard her question."

Antagonizing the sphinx didn't look like a good idea. Anomaly didn't appear to take this seriously and the Lucid's prodding isn't filling the pegasus with confidence. The situation would likely not end well with almost everyone present resorting to violence. Out of everyone present, Fluttershy seemed to be the odd one out, being the one who isn't combat-capable compared to the rest of the powerful magic-wielders in the room. She meekly stepped forward and would possibly regret being bold, or stupid, at that moment and looked to the sphinx.

"Umm, if you wouldn't mind me asking. What is this crown of yours, and why does it glow to begin with? Can you tell me more about it?"

The Sphinx turned away from his ramblings and gave him a tail flick letting him know he was wasting his breath. She wasn't here to entertain his nonsense........... Right up to the point where he dropped a anvil on her tail. She flicked it off with a low growl and turned back towards him, seems liked he was now entertaining himself with having Onache as a mime artist, that was not how you treated a guest at all. Her whiskers twitching she glared down at him, "I tolerated your insolence since it was just verbal. Now you think its acceptable for yourself to physically assault others and make everything you do a joke? You want to boast about how your power will grow and mine will not? Power will only take you so far, the rest is determined by your resolve." She hissed at him glancing at her bruised tail.

"Warning Shot? You hit me you fool!. Anyone could drop a Anvil. I'll drop the Freaking MOON!!" she roared lashing her tail wildly the sky darkened and the moon got closer to Equestria.

"How is that for a joke? Wiped that smirk of your face, STOP THAT THEN WHY DON'T YOU MR POWERFUL" she growled pointing her injured tail at the moon that slowly got closer. Her crown had gotten alot darker at this display, it touched the colour of coal briefly before settling on a copper colour.

It seemed that making the Sphinx angry was a very bad idea. Though a question had been posed towards her so her rage subsided somewhat. She held her tail up and the moon stopped it decent for now. "Hmmm, finally some pony that takes something seriously." she snorted.

The Sphinx glanced at the Crown which had changed to a darker colour from the whole Moon dropping event. "Well I had it from the beginning of my rule and it was a solid white. Though over time it seems to change though it has gradually got darker till it is the colour you see now, Gold, well a more copper colour now thanks to some fool *glare eyes at said fool* . Not that I can complain a gold colour is good though in many different futures of myself my crown isn't gold but black so that is something I do not want, A black crown is just unfashionable and poor form for a Sphinx" she remarked.

"So your task is to figure out why my crown is going dark, before I flip out" she growled.

@Blitz Boom

"Out you get and lose the silly outfit" she growled slapping the box with her tail smashing it, sending the shards of glass scattering around. She had turned from a semi pleasant host to a grumpy kitty mainly due to Lucid and his shenanigans, she flicked her tail making the changeling go back to her original attire. Her crown had got slightly lighter of a result of this action. Interesting.

Seeing the moon falling actually got Lucid off guard. He seriously thought the sphinx was bluffing. He would've tried something crazy, but lucky for him, the moon stopped. Even though the sphinx didn't finish the job, Lucid was extremely angry at this point.

"So that's how you wanna play it? You'd wipe out an entire world simply because something landed on your tail?"

Lucid this time was showing a little bit of restraint knowing what almost happened. He looked straight at the sphinx with a stare that would frighten the bravest of ponies. He walked up straight up to her.

"Tell me, why would you take billions of innocent lives when THEY did nothing to you? Are you seriously that up in your head that you'd wipe out all life just because one individual did something you didn't like? Sure, maybe what I did was a little much, but that doesn't excuse YOUR actions."

Witnessing how the mind of an AI works in first pony was rather interesting when it really came down to it.  None of it was wrong of course, mostly coming down to word usage.  To an AI it wouldn't be that hard to make the comparison to a purpose in life to one's function.  Machines though don't normally change function, but now these AI minded one's can.  Dusk would like to keep in touch with Felicia just to see how far she takes it.  Finally getting around to Felicia's response to Rusty's question.

"She wants to observe and learn different things before deciding."

"Oh my, how interesting.  And she was originally a guard?"

Rusty exclaimed before asking the stallion for a reminder.  Dusk nodded of course for it was true.

"She was built to guard Molotov's workshop, but was too advanced for her intended purpose."

"I'm sure there are plenty of Royal Guard who would say the same thing."

The mare teased with a playful smirked.

"They have a choice."

"Fair point."

It was indeed a fair point.  Even with a cutie mark, a pony can be really anything they want to.  Heck, some aren't even that clear cut in what they really mean, but that was often half the purpose.  Take Rusty's for example, the crossed machine bolts, didn't mean she had to work in a scrap yard.  There are many possibilities.  Simple a mark that tells of a personality, proclivity or talent of a pony.  Who knows, maybe after Felicia finds what she wants to do, she can have a cutie mark made and stamped on her.

"She wants to knows if you have a foal."

Dusk could have easily answered the question himself, but the question was aimed at Rusty, so she should answer.

"Well, she's not a foal anymore, but I do have a daughter.  Just a little younger than Dusk here."

"Ponyville? It's like a half day's travel west. Lesser with wings, but you know, we kinda cheat that way."

Sorrow flapped her large wings and giggled slightly, while the chorus of voices focused in the skull around her neck started to speak again.

"We feel watched. Eyes that see more than our vessel. A presence, lingering near us. Something's wrong."

The voices had increased in volume, nearing that of regular speak as they had collected themselves more, and all the while, the eyes kept following Moon Glow's every movement. Sorrow had a hard time not noticing this, or the wary feeling that went over the collection of souls, emanating vaguely through the vessel and into her chest. Her *special link* as she called it, though anypony who wore this could feel the emotional aura when it touched their skin. it would unnerve others, if she ever allowed anypony to wear the skull, but she wouldn't. The poor things inside trusted her, and she couldn't just risk them like that.

"Would you all calm down? She's just a pony that's gotten a little lost, there's no need to be antsy."

"She is not normal. We feel it."

Sorrow scratched her head at this, and looked confused down on her necklace, then over at Moon Glow.

"Sorry about Legion, they like to stare and are getting a little stirred up right now. You wanted to go to Ponyville, right? I can take you if you want. I was going to go back there to check up on something anyway, so it's noooo problem."

The young mare got a big smile from the taller pegasus, though it were likely not diffusing the weirdness of the situation. Usually got a little strange when she brought up Legion, but it just got weird to try and ignore them or pretend nothing was up, so Sorrow just always spoke to them like everypony would know what she were on about, and then explain afterwards if they asked questions. Not everypony that wanted to once the eyes had gotten locked on them, but hey, they had the option.

This one hadn't yet, even if she was being starred down, which were a little strange, but hey, whoever went this far off road had to be a little loopy, right? Nothing wrong with that, and Moon Glow seemed like a nice mare, so some quirks were just gonna give her some character.

It were kinda weird what the Legion had said though, about the lingering presence. Had this mare been around another spirit? Sorrow could only really tell if it were a full on presence, not invisible hoofprints or whatnot.

@Catpone Cerberus

Something came charging up against her now? So, this system had defenses, had it? Well, it wasn't going to win over her with it's tricks and illusions.

Berry kept swimming on, narrowing her eyes as the siren started to face up against her and yapped on about how she had to get out. Nice try there machine, but this was just mirrors and smoke, she'd charge right through an- Hrrgh.

Suddenly, that illusions had turned out to be a lot more solid than Berry had thought, and she suddenly found herself being pushed upwards and out of the lake by what were pretty clearly hooves. She had been restrained at times when she was back in the psych ward, so she could tell a forced hoof push from a stick or something else. It wasn't the hardest push she'd taken in her life, but that were perhaps just something she thought because there wasn't a wall or floor to her back, but just water. Well, until she got pushed out and landed on the shore anyway, next to her hammer.

She'd be dripping wet, and spitting out water like a fountain, but otherwise no worse for the wear.

"Come on. All this time, and it's just a siren? That can't be right."

Berry wasn't afraid of the siren. She didn't look like some of them massive ones in the stories, so there was a chance that the earth pony could take her in a brawl, if she could get her out of the lake. But before she'd think on how to wrestle a mythological creature to the shore just to wrangle around and yell about submitting, Berry would have another look, just to be sure. Perhaps she could see more things down there than the siren? Or at least, she could get the fishpony to the surface by annoyingly keep wandering in, until the creature would relinquish her truths.

So Berry stuck her head down beneath the surface again and would plop into the lake if she wasn't stopped, intended on keeping on going until she found some answers, and completely ignoring the fact that she were entering the watery lair of a creature with big sharp teeth that could breathe underwater, whilst she couldn't. Solid plan right there, but she just didn't feel fear overt his. Nothing about the siren had shown to be aggressive yet, so what were there? Racial bias? Please. Even Berry knew not to judge on race alone.

...Except if you were a deer. You could never trust deer.

"What's going on, eh?"

Spicy flipped her at off and sat it on the stump, before looking around for a bit just to make sure nopony else seemed to be heading their way. Couldn't hold up a line here after all.

"Pretty simple, Red, lemme tell ya.

I go from town to town all over Equestria, and see if anypony need a little something to get by with until they get paid again, and then I step in and help them. The one timer who just left had his tools crushed in the attack and needed to buy new ones to harvest, but banks takes ages. So here comes little 'ol me, and lend him 45 bits. In return, I'll come 'round and harvest my coins again in a month's time, with a little extra in the hat as an *appreciation fee.*

He gets what he needs, I get a little something my way for my trouble, and everypony's happy.

As for the poker, well-"

Spicy took a deck of cards from her side pocket and began shuffling them without even looking at them, and tossed in a few tricks in the process, just to show off.

"- That's my main game. Ain't a casino in Equestria that don't know my name, and this year, I cleared out the Las Pegasus Championship. Coming into my court is gonna leave you sore, Red, so I'd reconsider it if you came here to test the champion."

She stopped shuffling cards and put the deck back in her pocket. She had shown off enough for now. Unless of course, this mare that she called Red - since she had not been given an actual name to work with - wanted to try her luck. Spicy were in a pretty good mood, so she might give back what she'd win from the mare in that case. Couldn't be much coin this gal had on her anyway.

"So, what's it gonna be, Red? You're here for a chat, to deal, or to play? I'm in a pretty good mood, so I'll entertain you until I get another customer 'round.

And inn case you hadn't figured it out yet, I'm Spicy Rolls. That gnarled piece of ruffled feathers over there's Marley."

"Yeah, right. I'm the pretty face that lures others in, and the fist that makes them go away again. You're the one looking like a dust mite."

Spicy loved poking at his appearance. It always got to him, and it brightened up her day seeing him giving a hurt response back, which he disguised as jovial humor.

She'd give some comments to Red about her lack of an attire, but frankly, this was a backwater dump, and Spicy weren't sure if this mare was gonna be a customer yet, so she'd hold off the snarky comments like that back. First sign of any hillbilly behavior though, and the mare was gonna get it. That would be too good to pass up on.

Felicia had little doubt that Molotov would learn better this time around, and only have basic software in a guard, instead of trying to have one ready for all situations, and therefor adding an AI into the system so that learning, and adapting became possible. In a sense he had done well really. She had learned that the life she were build for were too limiting, and had adapted to despise him because he trapped her in it. Things may change now that she were free though. Time would tell if there could be build trust and some degree of relationship between herself and her creator eventually.

She didn't spend much of her processing power thinking on that though, compared to analyzing what the two others were saying. Rust in particular brought up something interesting, which were these *royal guards*. Molotov had spoken of them once before too, in a brief comment including the phrase *stuck-up idiots aren't worthy to serve Princess Celestia* after an altercation, from the sounds of it. From what the spiderbot understood by that, and what she heard now, they were meant to protect this princess that her creator spoke off in reverence, and they were not forced to do so. It were a choice, which made her file a want to meet one of them eventually into her memory. Their situation may be enlightening to her.

Some notice were bitten into how Dusky reacted to the talk of royal guards, but Felicia were not yet familiar enough with pony behavior to see if there was something going on of importance. She got the gist that she were missing some data to fully understand the situation, though she saw nothing wrong, or underhanded going on. It was just banter.

Rust answered the last question too, and did not seem squirmish about it as it came to pass, which were pleasing in a way to Felicia. From what limited knowledge she had gathered, parents seemed to worry about their creations, and considering the initial reactions her chassis had caused, the same protectiveness may have hindered this advancing on. Fortunate that she had miscalculated.

"𝕐𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕪 𝕗𝕦𝕟𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤. 𝔸𝕤 𝕒 𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕠𝕣, 𝕨𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕕𝕖𝕣 𝕚𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝕛𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕠𝕟𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕖, 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕨𝕒𝕟𝕥𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖?"

To Felicia, the situation between parent and child were akin to creator and creation, just where a foal or other offspring always had the capacity to hold many functions, and even change them completely as their life went on. She wished to know if ponies thought it okay to force their foals/creations to only do one thing, and never offer the choice of something else, to both gain data about ponies and draw some relatable parallels to her own situation.

"..."

Rosa stood still, back turned to the longma siblings as they extended a figurative hand towards him in solidarity. How long had it been since anypony had tried that? Five years? Six? A lifetime ago all things considered, though it weren't any easier for him to turn around now, than it had then, when his oldest friend had yelled at him to just talk to him, and let him help ease the weight on Rosa's shoulders.

He hadn't listened back then, and when he finally came around himself, it were too late. Nopony would speak with him, the majority even resented him, and the partner he had been starting to court before the situation had spiraled out of control had moved on. He had pushed them away, just like he were doing with Sen and Lin when he walked away from the, or ignored their wish to help him.

Why couldn't he just turn around? Throw this stupid mask to the ground and face them, the broken pony that he felt like, instead of masking his shame, regrets and tears from the only beings that seemed to actually care in a long time?

He tried to force himself to turn, or even to raise his hoof, but he couldn't find the strength. Worry flooded him, and mingled with the voice telling him that they had a job to get done, and that emotional things like this were just going to waste time. Couldn't do that, or everything would have been for nothing, right? Just suck it up and try to be strong outward to those that he thought needed him, even if it were really the other way around.

Finally, he raised a hoof towards the underside of his mask and tried to lift it. His hoof felt the edge and stopped, shaking noticeably before he slowly lowered it again.

"...I need time, but... Thank you."

Perhaps after a long trip, he'd be able to pull himself out of the grasp of his demons, at least before his dreams brought them up again, yet right now he just really wanted to walk, and focus on something else. Hopefully by night, he could properly thank the two of them for trying to help him, even when they had their own demons to fight. Especially Lin, who had suffered as much, if not more than him, with the things that she went through.

Whoever this Salosan were, and why he had hurt their parents, the sight had to be horrid for her to see, and Sen to hear. To think that they could be going through that, and still ask to share the burden of somepony else... It were strength that Rosa couldn't fathom they possessed.

(He'll be sullen until night. Next camp site may lighten up things)

Onache didn't play the pooqus's game for a second. The only thing that happened as she were stuck in that invisible box, with a ridiculous, humiliating outfit on, were her starring at him like she wanted to do something very bad to him. Slowly. This... Humiliation weren't going to stand!

For once it seemed the sphinx and her were on the same wavelength, as the large feline finally had enough too and began responding in kind to the insect. Letting the moon fall seemed a little severe, but in the moment, Onache had really wanted to see the little insect squashed underneath the thing, which were not a want that diminished as the sphinx set her free from the humiliating display she had been put on.

"Much appreciated."

A thank you were a weird thing for the changeling queen to say, and had only rarely crossed her lips throughout her reign, but she did hers to allow such a rarity in one form or another towards the sphinx this time, whilst at the same time watching the ponies and assorted other beings attempt to find out what the meaning with the crown were. Something which Anomaly had a suggestion about, and weren't too shy to let out.

"Well, it got really dark when you were gonna smash the moon down on Lucid, and then lighter when you got angry bug lady out of her mime costume. Could the crown be reacting to you doing good or bad? Really cool hat if it can do that.

Oh, oh! We can test it. Try and smack me, as hard as you can, and then see if it gets darker. Then try to do something nice, and see if it's getting paler again. Come on, it'll get a lot of that frustration right outta you, hehe."

Anomaly bounced over near the sphinx, and looked up at her with a big, happy smile, ready to be punted or stomped upon. Either way, she wasn't gonna be destroyed by this. Just get all kinds of flat or in pieces, and had to inflate/reassemble herself again. She had been there and done that several times.

While all of this went on, Lotus had gotten out of the bowl, hid when the moon seemed to be crashing, then shaken herself from the worst of the water and jumped up so she could be near Angel and Fluttershy. They weren't her dragon, but right now, she really needed to be with someone to feel kind of safe, and Fluttershy seemed to be the only one making any sense here, which were good enough at this point. Especially since the dracolisk had seemingly wandered off and decided to explore the immediate area on its own, not caring one singular bit about the fighting and talking going on right now.

(crittertalk)"They're all crazy. Bad things are gonna happen."

Seeing Anomaly being her fun self calmed Lucid's anger. Lucid has always found it difficult to angry for long when anyone around him was this fun and positive.

Anomaly's answer was also pretty helpful since it actually made him think.

"I think you might be on to something Anomaly! Someone like the sphinx must've done a lot of bad things, thus making the crown dark."

Nada backed down back to the water after she had gotten the pony out of the lake, but when she turned around, she saw the the idiot jumping back to the water, Either she's lacking something in her head or this really is a trap. This was a problem, Nada didn't want to hurt anyone until it was really the only way, but she didn't want a pony intruding in her lake either, regardless of the reason, and in all honestly, she was scared of this seemingly fearless pony.

Nada charged at the pony again, yet again proceeding to get her out of her lake, but this time she followed her to the shore, and pressed her against the ground with her hooves to keep her in place. She stared the pony at her face, even for tiny siren like herself, the two and a half times smaller creature was small, so she avoided adding too much pressure so there wouldn't be any injuries "Who are you and why are you so eager to invade my home?" her voice had hint of fear induced anger "If you think you can just come here and chase me from my home you're dead wrong!" "You're not getting me in that portal!" she then dived back into the lake, she was even surprised herself about her sudden outburst, as she wasn't realized just how much fear she really felt towards the ponies.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ruby listened with only half of of her concentration span, but she got all that was important,  it was a loan business, there was also poker, and the pony was the one called spicy Rolls, and also the bird being named Marley. She also pretty much ignored the card tricks and Spicy's boasting about poker, she wasn't really impressed, for two reason, first being that she just didn't see anything cool or interesting about that, and second reason was magic, she knew that you could do anything with it, sure Spicy wasn't an unicorn, but still.

She turned her eyes from the clock towards the pony "Chatting wasn't the original plan, don't care about games, and there's big problem on your deal....." ".....I'd have to give you something." she hadn't liked how this pony talked to her, dared to imply that she was somehow above Ruby, dragons had burned creatures for less, "And I don't really like to give anything." she reached for the pocket watch slowly to make sure it didn't look like she was trying to swipe it, taking it into her hoof, and looking at it and turning it from side to side to like she was observing it "I usually just take something if I want it." she scanned the chain with her eyes before giving it a small tug and putting the clock back down, she smirked "Besides, I'm not some farmer in need of new tools." The whol clock checking thigh had been just a act, she knew it was well secured, she just wanted to solidify her point.

TWILIGHT SPARKLE

Interesting, her crown got darker when she used her power. Maybe it’s connected in someway? Maybe it’s the source?’ Twiligjt thought curiously, gazing up at the Sphinx’s crown. She didn’t think it was anything special until the portal fiasco happened and since it grew dark, it piqued her interest, to say the least. “Distractions and potential angering aside,” she said in frustration to the rest of the party, and turned back to the Sphinx, “You’re crown is darker. It’s lost it’s glow. Maybe you should look into it.”

The Gem glowed as the smoke began to pour out of it, filling the air into the vague shape of Sapphire's body. The magic inside the gem now used to form her body again. Her limbs came to form as the fur began to grow on them, her mane flowing in the air as she began to stretch, popping a joint as she blinked her eye a bit. "Well, that spell is going to be useful. If we needed more magic to build your body." She said, standing up, stumbling a bit. "What should we do next?" As she asked this, it could be seen that Sapphire was no longer trying to keep the illusion a secret, her mane not obeying gravity, flowing in the air, and her body sparking with magic.

"Of course you aren't, but neither of us are equipped to fight her, so we're both effectively useless."

Misty shook her head as she went to sit next to Astral. "Not really, even if you were there's bound to be an alternative solution to subjecting yourself to Emerald being in your head again." She said, turning her head to Chow. "Like, you have fought griffons before, so you have some fighting skills."

Astral turned to look away, thinking for a bit. "Hang on, the Canterlot army could help, if Emerald showed up, we could lure her here. Allowing them to stop her for us."

"I have no idea where you could find that stuff, if you still need help for that. Best suggestion is that you explore Canterlot. Maybe ask around, since I just know from here to the library, or to the train station." This time, he was telling the truth, though he knew his way around further than that, but not by much. "Though that gyro balancer seems rather strange for a pegasi to wear. Shouldn't your kind be able to do balance yourself automatically?"

A reasonable hypothesis Anomaly provided, something that Fluttershy caught on to a little later than the others. She watched in anticipation, her eyes locking on to the crown more than Anomaly or the sphinx. If any subtle changes were noticeable now, she's probably look into that too. For now, having something much larger and more drastic would likely provide conclusive evidence that could strengthen Anomaly's suggestion.

"Ready when you are." The pegasus knelt down by the crown and awaited for any changes the crown might undergo, provided the sphinx would act on the suggestion.

"Give them a chance. Maybe this doesn't have to end badly. I'd hate to see the worst the sphinx or the changeling could do."

Angel chittered back at Lotus, and gestured her to come closer to the crown and see what would happen. Right now, he didn't seem to notice the dracolisk going missing, not that he would mind it wandering elsewhere for that matter. His attention is drawn to the events unfolding before him now.

"Take all the time you need, Rosa," Sen calmly replied before setting off.

"Alright, come on. Let's get out of here. I don't want to look at this place for another second."

Lin led the everyone out, a little quicker on her feet now that she's had time to catch her breath. The way out was mostly straightforward, the traces of daylight picking up and becoming more noticeable as the rays of light peeked through the canopies. For the most part, the journey was quiet, and Lin slowed down to let Sen take the lead moving out. She spent that moment in quiet contemplation, still wondering about what she saw, what she felt. Those shouldn't be real; she never saw them again and yet those images are vivid. Clear as day, every detail accurate to the accounts the villagers and Solasan provided her. Was it all her piecing together every bit of information she had and the rest was her mind playing tricks? She didn't know the will-o-wisps but they seemed to know her, and her own insecurities. Even now she isn't sure about what to think about.

The anger that fueled her came back easily upon seeing Solasan and Legion and subsided almost as instantly when her own deepest concerns came to light. She couldn't be angry forever, but it was a familiar feeling that pushed her to act. It was digging too much but there might be something to learn from this, at least from one perspective. The two would be quiet for now to give Rosa time to himself. Who knows what could be going on inside his head. Sen would continue forward, uninterrupted, and search for a clearing just like the last site they camped at for the night. There was still some daylight with the afternoon sun no longer sitting right above them. He'd take care of things till they rested.

The Sphinx blinked down at him and tilted her head. "Well it was that or I removed the concept of gravity, but then you wouldn't have been too pleased about that either" she retorted with a snort, "you've not even apologised about dropping a anvil on my tail either, rather rude of you" she added, she flicked her tail at his question. "it amuses me that you actually think I would drop the moon, my temple wouldn't approve of such action though it approves of said methods" she giggled.

"Silly popu whatever you are" she finished using her tail to move him as far away as possible, which was a big distance since she had a large tail.

"Well I suppose I can give something a go" she remarked, she flicked her tail and Anomaly was chained, around her neck was a circular metal disk that prevented her from using magic, the crown on the Sphinxes head stayed the same colour, which was curious. A leash appeared and the Sphinx levitated it over to the Onache and gave her possession of Anomaly, "Here you are, one slave" she remarked which made her crown glow brighter.

The Sphinx was pleased, "Ah I see, I'm beginning to figure out what the colour change is about" she remarked.

Her crown was beginning to get whiter as she made them all slaves slowly.

While she was busy staring at the crown, metal chains sprung up around Twilight trapping her in a steel box, The Sphinx blinked and smiled then turned to Onache "Well This is three, though this one is more of a display pony then anything" she told Onache, her crown had returned to its original shining white colour.

So the logical solution is to have you all enslaved until my deal is completed, at which point im sure I can make another deal for your freedom" she giggled at her own cleverness.

Another metal box much larger then Twilight's sprung up around Fluttershy and trapped her for now. She turned her head to Onache, "So I believe this is me holding up my end of the bargain, now for your end, you can now reside in my temple, and let me do as I please" she remarked flicking her tail. "I'm rather bored at asking ponies for scraps and need to move onto bigger plans, ones that isn't restricted by location" she finished.

Seeing the Sphinx threaten to drop the moon if he escaped did bother him at first, didn't scare him due to reasons he wasn't dumb enough to tell the sphinx, but he was bothered.

Then suddenly a lightbulb appeared above Lucid's head, which he ate, then a calculator appeared in his hoof.

"Ok, the surface area of the largest continent in the human world is 44,391,162 square kilometers while the moon is only about 38 million square kilometers. All human continents put together should be about 148,998,799 square kilometers, and that's if I'm low-balling it. This would be the size of a supercontinent if I'm low-balling this."

Lucid ate the calculator and a grin appeared on his face. He looked up at to the moon, back at the sphinx, back to the moon, and back to the sphinx.

"Y'know, I really wish I realized this sooner. I could escape now, but the chains kinda make me look cool, so I'll be civil and wait until the deal is over."

The moon started darting around the sky like crazy as Lucid laughed. He had fun with the moon for a good minute before he looked back at the sphinx. For some reason, Lucid seemingly stopped caring about how tense the situation was and he began to talk... A LOT!

"It must really suck for you knowing that my power works a little differently than the others leaving you to resorting to trying to scare me away from using it to escape. Oh! We should fight sometime! Wouldn't that be fun? Not to the death of course, killing you is a bit of a last resort that I'd rather not do, I may be crazy, but I'm not insane. Oh, I also have a draconequus friend with some feline features and she's REALLY attractive! I even made her this weird animal hybrid today to give to her as a gift when I ask her out! Also, I suggest getting a hobby, you seem to have too much time on your paws. Ever tried buying those singing cacti toys at giftshops? I collect a lot of them and they are the coolest thing ever!"

Why was Lucid saying all this? Probably because he likes to talk about things. Besides, it's better than him turning things into mimes and dropping anvils.
