I know Dr. Eggman used to be called Dr.Robotnik in the early Sonic the Hedgehog games & TV shows.

 

Also, I think I just found my new favorite piece of Sunset Shimmer artwork.

They called him Dr. Robotnik in North America and Europe while in Japan he was known as Eggman. Starting with Sonic Adventure back in 1998, the name Dr. Eggman is used across the entire world.
