technology Upgraded Internet speed, opinion?

Recently my folks finally decided to upgrade our 7 Mbps to 25 Mbps, and according to Speedtest.net it seems to be working.

We get 25 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload.

Is this obviously good for everything I do with Internet (gaming online, youtube, streaming)?

The answer is probably obvious, but I just want to be sure.

Could I do more Internet heavy usage with this speed?

Yes your internet speed should be faster thanks to the upgrade. You can do more stuff by virtue of having a faster internet speed equals downloads and uploads getting done faster. Do you use a modem?

Yes, MTS gave us a specialized modem, which also has wireless, so I can connect all my Wi-Fi devices to it!

I don't even notice it when it slows down, but my older brother plays DC Universe on Steam a lot, so the speed can degrade a bit, but not to the point where it is unusable for me.

Then your modem should be fine depending what kind it is. If it is like mine (343 mbs download speed, 143 mbs upload speed, and 8 downstream channels with 4 upstream channels docisis 3.0), then you should have no issue. Also, do you have to pay for the modem per month? Edited by Nuke87654

Well my folks pay for it, but now they expect me pitch in 10 bucks a month for it, which is not too bad.

If you can and have the money, I'd suggest to look up your ips to see if the'll allow you to get a third partymodem and router as you won't have to pay the modem and router once the price goes and you'll save 120$

But' I'm getting ahead of myself. The thing should be fine and if you don't want to change then you don't have to as it's better to be safe with what you have and know without risking it.
