movies/tv Thoughts on Teen Titans Go?

I hate this show. It is a disgrace to the original. I feel like Cartoon Network could have just had reruns of the original show air instead. The creators said they've never even watched the original show. Maybe they only did about 2 minutes of research from Wikipedia. At least we have Steven Universe and Clarence is decent.

It's "meh", I've only seen snippets of both it and the original show and while there is an obvious difference, it just doesn't matter. It's a TV show, I don't watch it therefore it's "meh".

I think the hate people have for the show is ridiculous. It was never intended to be a continuation of Teen Titans, it's a darkly comedic self parody, like "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law" or "Space Ghost Coast to Coast". But still everyone has decided that it's supposed to be just like the original, and then get mad because the show is something else.

I also thought that the original show worked best when it was not taking itself too seriously, like with the Mad Mod episodes. When it tried to do "serious drama" it was often cringe inducing. Especially with Robin's creepy obsession with Deathstroke. (Oh no wait sorry, "Slade".) It's cool to see the original characters with the same voice actors exploring a comedic take on the show, because Tara Strong, et al are actually pretty funny.

Not a fan.  Most of the reason why we all liked the old show was because of the engaging plots and the cool villains and stuff.  If you take all that out and replace it with flat comedy, you aren't left with much.  This was just not a good idea.

I don't like it. It took a funny and heartfelt action cartoon and turned into an unfunny sitcom. The shorts were fine, but it just does not work as a feature length show.

I've only seen a few episodes, but from what I saw I thought it was fine. Nothing super good, but it also wasn't bad. I think the art style alone makes it obvious it's not supposed to be like the original and I have accepted that.

I don't think people expect it to be like the original. They just want it to be like the original.

This is the main problem I have with it: They take characters that I was deeply invested in, and kind of bastardized them in this new show. Robin is a loser. Trigon is played for laughs. Its just kind of hard to feel anything but hate for Teen Titans Go! when they took something that was dear to me and striped it of any emotion. Its like if the took MLP back to the way G3 was.

I think the reason behind the hate for this show is the fact that it didn't need to be based on the original show. They could have just used other DC characters or better yet, they could have made up superheroes and have it stand alone, that would make for a better show. They only used the name Teen Titans and the voice cast for marque value.

I like some eps of the

show at times and its

kinda nice to have something

well DC and not full of

drama and such but

just plain dumb humor...

I liked the old TT for the style and the

drama and Robin was my fav next

to Raven but its nice to have well, a

humor filled Raven!

I do understand why everypony is hating on Teen Titans Go but it isn't 100% bad. The humor is very hit and miss, yes. I give the show this one thing though, it has the original voices. It would be a travisity to no have the original voices. Not to mention that they are trying to be more like the DC Comics of the Teen Titans. I am as mad as anypony though that the original Teen Titans ended it SatAM style(Sonic the Hedgehog),on a cliffhanger if you will; but who's to say that it will not continue. It may but they maybe taking a break.

I think the hate stems on another level than it being a "bastardization" of the original show. The series didnt get its finish and them reviving it with a comedy is understandable as to why people hate the show. Plus a lot of animated series are comedies with idiot characters rather than action shows like the original teen titans. Have you ever noticed that? I'll refrain from digressing, but stil whats up with that?

The original Teen Titans had both action and comedy, all which executed very well. Teen Titans Go!, on the other hand had comedy which executed horribly. Its surprising that they have yet to fully give this show the ax as for Cartoon Network to realize that the reviews are in a mixed to negative reaction to the fans.  The original pretty much was left unfinished because of them, turning a blind eye for money over us long-time fans. Animated shows from the 90's/80's had well-executed humor, but the mid-to-late 2000's had bland and unappealing humor, with Teen Titans Go! being the example. Sure it was funny as a DC shorts, I'll admit it, but when it became a series, that's where I stopped watching it altogether after seeing Cartoon Network take out good shows in exchange for awful shows as to prove that us worthy fans are no longer worth it.

I think I saw maybe one episode and I didn't make it through. I admit I'm biased because it wasn't what I was expecting but the flanderized characters are off the scale.
