I really like it myself but I agree with most of your points especially about Elsa being a stronger character. The interpretation did seem to over simplify what should have been almost traumatic feelings. I partly blame the bland voice acting for this though, there was so little emotion in her voice; she hardly sounded pained at all. If only her acting has been more convincing emotionally it could have made a lot of difference.

Glad you gave actual reasons for not liking it rather than hating simply because it's over hyped, and yeah with olaf i thought i would hate him as well, but did actually find him enjoyable. Most comic relief characters in the disney movies have just been that, but Olaf felt like he had a purpose being a representation of Anna and Elsa's childhood. The trolls or whatever they were on the other hand felt really odd, I didn't like the design or how they acted it felt similar to the gargoyles from the hunchback.

Why I did not enjoy Frozen:

1. The plot was quite predictable, I could have probably told you about Hans from the START of the movie.

2. Some of the songs were actually quite pitiful. The trolls' song particularly.

3. The humor was not up to par for me. I guess it was for people that thought mentally retarded snowmen were funny.

4. Characters were quite bland for the most part IMO. As flat as a sheet of paper. Other than a few.

The IMMENSE Overhype did NOT help ANYTHING. In fact, it actually made me more annoyed than anything.

Mediocre movie in general IMO.

I can't stand the songs anymore because they were so overplayed and over referenced in every corner of the Internet.

who brought this thread back

I like the movie- I personally very much identify with Anna and the music was great.
But yeah, like most of you have said, it got overhyped and now I don't love the movie as much as I first because it's everywhere.

I'm actually a little tired of seeing it, despite me still really liking the film.

It got too over hyped, and the second one will probably be the same way.

It was an okay movie, but you get tired of it. Especially after when the movie came out "Let it go" was played on the radio way too much.

BUT IT'S POPULAR!!!

EVERYONE LIKES IT, BECAUSE ITS SOOOOOOO GOOD, THE PERSON WHO MADE IT WAS A GENIUS AND THE MUSIC IS FANTASTIC AND...AND...

...I'm totally joking. I'm not a fan of it either XD

Like legit...it's overplayed, overhyped, oversaturated...and in all honesty, I just find it annoying. Nothing against people who like it, but I'm right up there with you OP.

I was thinking the same thing! 'Cause like, I had traveled all my whole life just trying to find the greatest super party pony -- that could party like me!

But with you! But with you!....

Okay, I'll stop now! :P

I do not like that film is because it is so overrated, plus the songs in the movie are annoying. The voice acting is okay I guess and with a second one in the works there will be a chance that the franchise will be the most overrated franchise in the history of film.

Frozen was a decent movie at best, but it was sub-par in comparison to what I've seen out of 2014.

It's just average Disney though, I remember seeing the trailer and thinking it'd end up like Tangled and Brave, i.e. an enjoyable but very forgettable movie. That's exactly what it was, not even as good as Tangled or Brave honestly. Actually, I'm surprised that it got as popular as it did despite being up against The Lego Movie, that one was nearly flawless.

That said, I think next year is going to be a very

I liked the movie a lot. Didn't change my life or make me look at anything in a new way, but it was a great way to spend a few hours. I'm both amused and saddened that the only reason I see anybody bring it up anymore is to talk about how overrated it is.

Other thing, I called Hans being evil the moment Anna ran off and told everyone to take orders from him. That coupled with the film's more cynical take on love at first sight made me very inclined to suspect this random sideburns man who came out of nowhere and is now running a kingdom for some reason. The twist also made Love is an Open Door extremely fun to rewatch :icwudt:

I like the movie a lot actually. I have small nieces and it was just pleasent to see a "princess-movie" where everything wasn't about getting a prince or something superficial. Yes, Anna used 80 % of the movie talking about boys, but it was done in a meta way that also made a fun of earlier princesses. The characters could have been stronger though.. But as my 6 year old niece's take away from the movie was that family/friendship is the most important thing in the world, I can't do anything but love the movie.

Toy Story and Bugs Life are way better movies, and like, people dress up as characters of it for world book day, like, it's a fucking movie xD dress up as like Jack Sparrow or Gandulf. Cause Lord of the Rings were books first, and there are actually books for Pirate of the Caribbean. I don't class that little piece of paper that comes in the CD case as a book XD

Honestly, I thought that Frozen is a really nice movie. Not one of my favourites, but it does a lot of things right and takes many risks.

Part of the reason why Frozen is loved by many people is that its story makes you think. You see feisty young Anna convincing her elder sister to realise that the past is not the present, but Elsa still feels as if she'll continue to hurt other people, especially after that accident when the two were just children. It makes the two more interesting and realistic, as the two have had different views on life and different opinions as a result of that accident.

It's also loved by many people as how dark it is. Most Disney movies tend to be too sugary for some people, but to see many of these cliches that Disney has been using for a long while get subverted makes it a fresh viewing experience. From seeing love cliches get deconstructed to Elsa's internal conflict, it makes the movie more cynical than most, which is a good thing.

Oh yes, and the songs are great too. Say what you will about Let It Go, but it does deserve all of the praise it has got. All of them fit the scenarios in which they take place in, all of them are catchy and upbeat and the lyrics are nice too. And not just the music, but the visuals are fantastic too.

Just a thought... Rather than calling something overrated just because you see it all over the place, how about you give it a closer look and find out why so many people like it? Or even better, ask other people what makes Frozen so enjoyable? It has become very popular for a good reason, after all.

Join the club, I don't like it either. Just another animated CGI Disney flick to me, and not a particularly memorable one. They've done way better.

Wow unexpected! :wau:

I liked Tangled. I didn't like Frozen (the story was not interesting to me).
