What chores do you have to do regularly around your home?

 

I must clean the dishes, hang the clothes on the clothes-line, keep the upstairs living area tidy, keep my ensuite tidy, walk the dog each week around the local lakes, clean the pool and put the bins out.

 

First world life is soo hard for me.

I wish I had chores to do. I used to have them but then my parents decided to do them on their own I can't even put food on my plate anymore.

I do the dishes sometimes. I guess I do my laundry too, but I wouldn't consider that a chore.

I used to have to do the dishes every other day, but my sister sucks at doing them so my mom told me she'd pay me every week if I did the dishes everyday since I actually make sure they're all clean.

 

Shoot, for 10 dollars a week I'll totally do the dishes every single day.

I'm responsible for the trash and recycle I have to not only put them in the bins when they are full but also wake up early in the morning and get them to the side of the street on trash day

 

I'm also have to do the dishes

When I lived with my parents I never wanted to do what they asked when they asked it. That was years ago though. I live alone but it's always clean and vacuumed, dusted, mopped, no garbage, everything put away.

 

I guess the difference is I can do that stuff when I want to, instead of having to jump up when a command is given. Seems they were always asking me at just the moment I wanted to do whatever I was doing. It wasn't the chores I resented, it was the "now" I had a problem with.

I'm pretty much just responsible for cleaning my room/doing my laundry... somtimes I have to feed my dog as well, but not much else.

I have none  . I occasionally help with some stuff around the house, but mostly i just waste my life away infront of a computer til i get done with school/college/Whatever-the-name-is and can move on.

I've always vacuumed the living room, steam-cleaned, swept, mopped, and I had to take care of my own room and my own laundry ever since I was 12.

 

The past few years, people keep bringing animals into the house but never wants to take care of 'em. Guess who has to pick up cat/dog shit every day? This guy.

Since I live alone now, I have to do all my chores 

 

 

I've been living on my own for about 3 years now (since I was 19). I've had as little as a single-basin sink all the way up to a dishwasher. But yeah, I do my chores every week. They include

• Run the dishwasher
• Wash, fold, and hang my normal clothes
• Take work clothes the the dry cleaners (except pants...I can do those myself)
• Wipe the counters
• Clean the stove, sink, and microwave
• Clean out the fridge (every 2 months with the exception of leftovers, which are discarded after 7 to 10 days)
• Dust all the wood in my living room. 
• Wash my sheets (every 2 to 4 weeks) 
• Make my bed (if it hasn't been made already)
• Scrub the toilet, bathtub, and sink
• Sweep/mop the bathroom and kitchen
• Vacuum the bedroom and living room
• Clean all glass surfaces and mirrors
• Take out the trash

There is probably more to it but that's all I can come up with off the top of my head. It's not that bad when you get to doing it

 

All in all it takes me anywhere from 4 to 10 hours of work to clean my whole apartment. It's small (600 ft² or 56 m²) so it never takes more than a single afternoon to do it which is why I reserve Saturday for cleaning. How long it actually takes depends on how lazy I've been that week and if I cleaned at all. It's also affected if I do other things like clean out my desk or dust my PC.

Right now I do things like my laundry, my dishes, getting groceries... things like that. 

 

When I was living with my parents I did lots of things... 

 

Dishes, cleaning the kitchen, sweeping the floor, vacuuming, walking the dog three times a day, cleaning the bathrooms, scrubbing the tubs... other stuff I know I'm forgetting... 

 

My siblings did things too, but I always ended up doing the most for whatever reason.

I do laundry, fold laundry, wash dishes, put dishes away, take out the trash, get the mail, take the dog out, feed the dog, cook dinner etc. (Yeah I have to do a lot >.<)
