My first pony artwork! Feedback appreciated /)^3^(\

Well I haven't drawn anything in years, but here it is! My first venture into the realm of MLP fan art! I'm quite happy with how it turned out (despite the awful shadow on the wall  ) but yeah, so it's my OC Comet Glider and yes, he is supposed to be a blank flank 

I'll probably sort out the dodgy edges and rough lines soon, but thought I might put this up anyway. Hope ya'll like it!

Why does he look like a mare?

Nothing much I could say since you've already pointed out flaws in image, and this looks to be a trace and not something drawn on your own. Perhaps it was just to try out digital art making so you decided to do that. Seeing artwork that clearly displays your style and ability would be more interesting. In the meantime, I can't neither praise nor criticize it except for the quality of the trace (unless your drawing style is indeed near identical to that of the show in which case good job then).

I haven't traced any work with this picture, Underneath the final colored image is a pretty basic sketch I did to begin with before doing the color.  I would have removed it but I'm new to digital art so I'm still learning the program I'm using and deleting and editing layers is still a challenge 

 

I am working on more unique styles on paper which I'll probably put up later, but here I wanted to play it safe and stick to the show's dimensions considering it was my first work.

Did you make heavy modification while making the digital image or is your original sketch looked near identical to the show's style and was not a trace? If your original sketch indeed looked like that, perhaps you're already ready to experiment with different styles?

Looks decent enough,though I'd advice against using black, or dark grey for that matter, in OC's.

I'd  suggest playing around a bit for an alternative (auburn might work nicely).

 

Does she have a cutiemark/backstory yet?
