Why is fleur Dis Lee the only other pony with a princess like body?

Dumb sounding question i know. But a valid one I hope. Why is she the only pony to have a body with likeness to Celestia, Cadance and Luna? And why did Twily's body not go all tall and sleek like theirs in the alicorification process?

I think it just comes down to the fact that she is a model because of her distinct body type/beauty.(Maybe she was born to be one?Assuming how the whole pre-destination of Cutie Marks go.Like a rare bodytype of sorts? Maybe?)

I think Twilight will look different in the future yes, but not in S05.Tho i noticed her horn seems longer these days, so that's something.

She is supposedly a super model so I think that that body type was selected for signify beauty, something that Faust did not want to do with Rarity as she did not want to differentiate the Mane Six in body type. She needed Spike to communicate to the audience that Rarity was attractive. In this case they could have tried to signify a regal beauty by applying Princess features to Fleur.

Two notes though, not all Princesses have these features thanks to the inclusion of Twilight. I take it as meaning that Alicorn body type is not exclusive to them ... which is kinda cool and fits with the (generally( inclusive nature of Equestria.

Ponies are complex creatures :rarity:

I wonder then how Princess Cadence looked like as a pegasus, before being "reborn" as the princess of love, if that counts as canon of course.

Maybe Twilight won't be as tall or regal looking as, say Princess Celestia, but maybe something like Cadence or Luna.

Many aristocratic families are living in Canterlot.

I think, she could have royal blood like prince Blue Blood.

Blue Blood and Fancy Pants are taller than most male pony citizens too.

Maybe this body shape isn't inherent to alicorns.

The princessees heights vary and I'm guessing it is based on how long they've been ascended. The two newest are also the shortest Cadence and Twilight. This must hold for the sisters, but we've never seen a shorter Celestia. Fleur dis Lear is stylized, a fashion model/ starlet, as said above, and has little to do with Alicorns and more to do with what the animators wanted. She's hoof candy and nothing more.

A bigger question is why give her such a design when she's had no real impact on the story so far? She's certainly interesting to look at, maybe she could have a more prominent role in an episode?

why give Mr and Mrs Cake unique body types, or Snips and Snails? Or Truffle Shuffle? Or Trenderhoof? Or the Puppet theater pony? They're not prommie characters either, but they have unique body types as well. Because diversity, whether they're a prominent character or not.

All those characters had an large impact in an epiosode though, some of them in two or more episodes. Mr and Mrs Cake especially.

I've always thought about it like this:

In Equestria the princesses (more specifically Celestia and Luna) are commonly thought of as the pinnacle of physical beauty. Just like the human world, you kind of have to hit the genetic jackpot to be a supermodel, and Fleur is commonly believed to be one.

My belief; these body types are possible, but uncommon. Fleur is just the only one we've happened to meet so far in the show. We've seen other model ponies in other episodes, but again, just like the real world, there are those SUPER models that get to be far more famous then most because of their talent and/or unique appearance.

As some have mentioned, ponies probably consider her resemblance to the princesses the pinnacle of beauty.  How much is genetic and how much is invented is up for debate.

Her height and gracile features probably come naturally (we've seen a wide range of variation among ponies), but the extra-long and flowy mane/tail and her slender build might be cultivated to match a beauty ideal based off the princesses.

Someone also pointed out that not all the princesses look like that--Twilight certainly doesn't.  But she has gotten significantly taller than her friends (as many have pointed out), and Cadence looks a lot more like Luna and Celestia now than she did in Twi's flash back. It looks like alicorns really do have a certain look.

We don't know anything about Fleur except for what we can infer from her only appearance. I don't really see any kind of regal nature from her. She seemed like a pampered mare that is there to look good but not to give off the sense of dignity. So there would be no reason for the animators to choose that model for her and to do so was probably a mistake. I think the model for Sapphire Shores would have been far superior and would have done the job to convey physical attractiveness.

I think she is from France the country of beauty or a place resembling France and her name is french. Or she is a supermodel and uses mascara.

I don't think she's French (I don't remember them ever mentioning an analogous pony city or country), but it is interesting to see what the Fleur de Lis represents.

Usually described as an iris, the yellow (or gold) Fleur-de-Lis was indeed the sign of the French monarch, but more specifically of his divine / God-given right to rule.  It was also a religious symbol, usually interpreted as a sign of Mary, Queen of Heaven, or of the Holy Trinity.  Also: faith, wisdom, and heroism.

The iris was considered an especially beautiful and exotic flower among European cultures.  Before them, the Ancient Greeks regarded it as a symbol of grief or mourning, usually over the death of a young girl, due to its connection with the goddess of the same name.  Among the Ancient Egyptians, the iris symbolized victory, rule, and power.

So what does this mean for a pony bearing two purple fleur-des-lis and one yellow?  It sounds like it might be a reference to the (at the time) three princesses.  Maybe Fleur Dis Lis's look is no accident at all, and she aims to look as much like an alicorn as possible?  Or maybe it symbolizes the power given to her by her natural beauty?  Though that does not explain why she has three, or why they're different colors . . .

I don't know.  Thoughts?

Very interesting facts indeed.

Dunno, about being french, we would only have her cutie mark suggest that she is somehow related to France, because the Fleur De Lis symbol/crest was used mainly in France, but if we are talking about Equestria i don't think how the french people/ponies would be portrayed as.

I think they wanted a distinct body type for her to be able to fit next to Fancy Pants at that time.I believe she first appeared in Season 1 yes?Maybe they didn't really care about it at the beggining, they just wanted her to look different from the others, as they did with many other characters later on. (Sapphire Shores, Mr. Mrs. Cake, etc,)

She's like those women in "our" world who want to be living Barbies. Fleur Dis Lee sought out the best plastic surgeon in Canterlot, and put all of his kids through school.

Pssst! I hear she used to have a teeny-tiny horn, but had horn augmentation surgery!

Pssst again! I heard that Celestia put her hoof down and forbid any attempts for surgeons to sculpt cosmetic wing implants for her!

I disagree. Sapphire has a bit too much fullness to her figure to achieve the look I think they were likely going for.

Fleur is the willowy, graceful, stick-thin super model type. Sapphire is the booty shaking, hip-hop queen.

Actually Fluttershy mentioned "French haute couture" in Suited For Success.

But I think that was a bit of an oversight on the part of the script writers. If I was going to come up with ponified France, I'd call it "Prance".
