Steel Accord 6,660 April 24, 2015 Share April 24, 2015 Nope. Pastel 7,630 April 24, 2015 Share April 24, 2015 (edited) Agreed, however I like to use it when I talk about the characters of the show. Edited April 24, 2015 by Blobulle
Aerial~Shot 177 April 24, 2015 Share April 24, 2015 Actually referring to people, I do find it kinda cringy, but I would use it if I'm specifically talking about the characters in the show. Since they are ponies
alpinefroggy 451 April 24, 2015 Share April 24, 2015 It's weird for me if someone purposely does it. But I think it's fine when it accidentily happens like when in public. I have written in papers in school lately to weird ? Marks by teachers and also accidentily said it among confused company.
SkullcandyPegasus 603 April 24, 2015 Share April 24, 2015 While it's socially awkward, language evolves and perhaps it'll become the norm. I still have difficulties talking to those who use "like" incorrectly, so I will gladly suffer the consequences of my archaic dialog. Do as you will though; it harms none. Monsoon 1,662 April 25, 2015 Share April 25, 2015 I have no problem when people use those terms maybe yea in public it might make me cringe but apart from that I'm fine with that No
Steve Piranha 29,428 April 25, 2015 Share April 25, 2015 Not much, as it's not my problem how other bronies act inside or outside of context. I don't make a habit of doing so, I make pony terms from time on time here, but you might see it's far often I don't than I do Sig by Discords
The Professor...8D 823 April 25, 2015 Share April 25, 2015 I have to say yes.............it's "okay".......int he context of the show.........but when I read it here and other places.............yes.......I cringe.............No offense........... 1 Ask The Professor
Dawning Demon 950 April 25, 2015 Share April 25, 2015 I admit that I've used the word "Somepony" once or twice, but only on this forum though. :3 Saying it in public with none Bronies would just make things weird and awkward for everyone xD
Omar 692 April 25, 2015 Share April 25, 2015 I do find it annoying at times when people say somepony, but if it's here on this forum I'm completely fine with it (sometimes I'm even tempted to say it).
InfectedPone 1,550 April 25, 2015 Share April 25, 2015 I think it's fine up to once or twice between bronies, but if they use it too much or to non bronies, yeah, it's pretty cringeworthy.
CC_Maud_Pie 6,431 April 26, 2015 Share April 26, 2015 No, I don't find it cringy. I think it's cool that some bronies want to use some pony slang when they feel like it. It creates a way of talking distinct from the majority. 1 All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.
Snow Frostflame 3,568 April 26, 2015 Share April 26, 2015 nope I proudly say my Ponyism... Online and Offline.... well not all the time.... but I don't find it cringe worthy
Thorn O Discord 118 April 26, 2015 Share April 26, 2015 If I see it online, I kinda sigh and facepalm, but if someone said 'Somepony' in public, I would avoid that person like the plague. (Though I did slip up and say everypony once in public, so maybe I should be nicer...)
Yoshi89 5,293 April 26, 2015 Share April 26, 2015 I came close to saying "Manehattan" at work once. I got around it by turning it into "Main Street" 4 ˙ʎpoqʎuɐ ƃuᴉlooɟ ʇou ǝɹ,noʎ 'sᴉɥʇ pɐǝɹ uɐɔ noʎ ɟI
BlackWater627 700 April 26, 2015 Share April 26, 2015 I came close to saying "Manehattan" at work once. I got around it by turning it into "Main Street" Yeah, for me it's a matter of habit. I use it all the time with fellow fans. I think it'd be weird using it in non-brony settings, though. I have to catch myself from using it in those situations because I'm so used to it. 2 Kindness is just a few words away. SteveMorison 404 April 27, 2015 Share April 27, 2015 I honestly hate when the show refers to even non-ponies as "somepony" or "everypony". For example at the start of PYHD Fluttershy is feeding her anals and says "good nutrition for everypony" or something like that.
Honsou 399 April 27, 2015 Share April 27, 2015 It depends on the place and context. You wouldn't see someone at work yelling "EVERYPONY, GET TO THE BLANKETY BLANK MOTORPOOL TIME NOW!!!" It would be awkward in the extreme.
Justin_Case001 4,899 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 All depends on the context. Like comedy, you need to know when to use it and when not to. It can be really cute, if used properly. Personally, I don't think I'd ever cringe at it. I'd just be tickled to death to meet another brony, period.
The Crimson Cross 7,532 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 I just speak normally, but I don't mind if others decide to do so online. If I ever heard it in public? Well that's another story. ThatOneComrade 1,091 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 Once. I've only heard it outside a fan environment once. It was embarrassing for the both of us. Never happened again. href="/monthly_02_2014/post-8308-0-69609200-1393191794.png">
Shou 100 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 I don't mind when people use that term at all. Yes if it is said in public I tend to roll my eyes but I don't hate it lol. Lots worse you could do right? "Silly shrine maiden, your two-colored powers are a mere twenty-eight-point-five-seven-one-four percent as powerful as mine!"
Auburn 23 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 I've found it's become a bit of a habit in my case and I have to catch myself at times. I do agree that it can be a little cringe worthy from time to time, especially when it's said in the wrong place at the wrong time. At conventions, meet ups or around the pony community I don't see any harm and in fact I find it's rather fun! The only time I find it cringy is when its overly used and is in pretty much in every sentence, but honestly it wouldn't bother me at all, heck I'd probably join in! Overlord0909 479 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 I wouldn't cringe, but would be like: "You a brony too?" Then he/she would say yes, then we'd be best friends forever. :3 But I'll admit, it'd be socially awkward. Bored? Want to be more bored! Guest April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 I wouldn't do it personally, just because it feels weird and out-of-place. If I heard someone saying everypony I'd think it was more funny than 'cringey'.
