You guys won't believe this, a teacher puts an autistic child in a trash can; comparing him to Oscar the Grouch. I would be fuming and have her fired for such actions, this is unprofessional; and this school seems to not even be taking this seriously, worrying more about their reputation than this child's cruel mistreatment.

Whoa, I just looked at the title and vomited a little, this sort of thing is disgusting.

How could anyone defend her? What she did could be classified as assault.

And yet they put this woman on paid leave? What makes them think she won't do this again?

Paid leave?!

You know....there are times where I weep for humanity... This is one of those times

That act that the teacher made was uncalled for. I am sickened by this. No teacher should EVER treat an autistic kid like that.  :okiedokielokie:

I'm a bit autistic, so i know what the kid is going through, he can't help the way he acts; teachers need proper education on how to deal with them; not treat them like garbage. I was held back because of my inability to learn anything quickly. I spent 2 years in kindergarten because i was lacking the skills to continue, does that make me a bad person? NO, it means i needed help; which McKinley Elementary School gave me. I'm glad i never had a teacher like that.

I have High-Functioning Autism (a mild form of it), and I find that act she made cruel, disturbing and downright atrocious.  :okiedokielokie:

Wow... just wow. This is just absolutely SICKENING. She put an autistic kid's head in a fucking bin! What an evil bitch! And she's on PAID LEAVE? Are you shitting me?! If this ever happened here in Ireland, she would be fucking FIRED and she would be put in JAIL for child abuse! She deserves to lose her job! She deserves to go to prison! She shouldn't be let near ANY kids at all! Urgh, why do people have to be so cruel sometimes? :(

At what point did this seem like an appropriate response to the child's actions? Autistic or not, you do not treat a child like that. EVER. She's lucky the parents didn't wring her neck.

What I find even worse is that the majority of related videos are about autistic kids being bullied or abused by other teachers, clearing showing that this is not an isolated incident.

no big surprise, I see stuff like this all the time, tearchers don't seem to live in the real world becauseI see them come up with crazy stuff, like I saw where one teacher made black kids pretendtobe slaves and the white kids act like the masters, and anotherone that used a tesla coil to burn words into kids skin.

Ok, now that i have subdued my rage i can think clearly.

Dear B*TCH,

I hope you lose your job. I hope you never teach again. You obviously only joined because you thought it be easy, and didnt realise you might have to have some empathy for your students. I hope someone shoves your head in a trash can.

Sincerely, Wyllow

...I don't often want people to get hurt badly or die, but in this case: fall down some stairs and break your neck.

This kind of stuff makes me really mad, I've got a mild form of autism too, and you do what you do. Again, break a neck, teacher.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Forgot to add this, but, you know when people say "Oh, bullying is just a part of life, the victim should just buck up"? THIS IS THE RESULT OF THAT LINE OF THINKING! I have no doubts this "person" was a bully as a child and wasnt reprimanded ever.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't particularly like the way they're reporting about this. People are already sympathizing with the kid just by knowing what's happening but they're posting Facebook comments and getting the teacher's face on live TV. There's no need to try to make people hate the teacher more than she's already going to be.

"Look at all these people who agree with everyone else that this teacher was doing a bad thing." This is the modern version of stoning. It's going to hurt her far more than the child was and it will only escalate from here.

Is this normal behavior from the teacher? Does she realize the consequences of what she did? What lead her to think that might have been okay? They don't even bother to look at her side of things.

Behold, the modern day mob with torches and pitchforks.  Just with.. I guess keyboards and cellphones.

Mob justice is such a bummer...

There's also the risk that she's actually being falsely accused all along.

In which case, I hope this doesn't buck up her tenure.

It's possible but unlikely. I'm more worried about what this will mean for her future. "Child beater/tormenter" is a hard label to shrug off.

Excuses, excuses. No, she probably didnt realize the consequences because she knew the school wouldnt do jacksh*t. And what might have lead her to think it was ok might have been a childhood of bullying other children and not being reprimanded. And who cares about her sides of things. Even if the kid was acting up putting his head in a trash can isnt the right reaction. She is an adult. She should act like one.
