That looks really awesome. I love Flutterbat, I have no idea who Grogar is, but this still looks awesome. Amazing job. :)

He's a Gen 1 villain like Tirek. He was a Necromancer and rather cunning, and his character design is pretty badass as well. Thanks ;3

All of my yes...Oh Celestia yes...

I know right, this totally needs to be a thing

I want Grogar as the finale villain and an epic fight with him like with Tirek, And I want his backstory to be that he was the dark goat lord of all monsters and king of the city of Tambelon and the former ruler of Equestria who was dethroned by Celestia and Luna as he and his empire Tambleon were sent to Tartarus. With the power of his dark bell he conquered the Razorbacks and took them as his soldiers. He attempts to prevent the ponies from using the Elements of Harmony so he can establish his empire over Equestria, with Tambelon as his capital.

Aside from "Rescue at Midnight Castle" and the old MLP movie, both of which I've re-watched in the last year, it's been a long time since I've seen much of Gen 1. That being said I do vaguely remember Grogar and now I feel compelled to go dig up the episodes featuring him. I think it'd be fun to see more G1 characters revamped for the current show - Tirek was great and I'm very excited for the Smooze next weekend - and I'd also love to see Flutterbat return! If not this season maybe we'll see Grogar in season 6...'one G1 revival per season' trend or something. Nice work on the art btw, very intriguing! I'd love to see something like this in the show.

I could see Grogar being a final villain. Hopefully if we get season 6 since I think it's been confirmed to be a season 6 I hope to see him in there. I wonder though how would he work in the show? I checked his info on the wiki, and I think it said he captured the unicorns for their magic or something like that. Would he do the same thing or would he steal a different pony race? But I still think it would be cool because we got Tirek and the smooze so I think it would be possible to see them add Grogar.

I'm hoping they work the Necromancy angle, there is so much you could do with that. I mean you don't necessarily need to have zombie ponies or whatever, but there is a certain aesthetic that comes with that kind of magic. Plus you could have Zecora be the source of info about his power set and the kind of threat he poses instead of Celestia, who seems to be delegated to Exposition princess sometimes.

I feel that it would be possible for that to happen since how season 5 is going so far. I like how the whole season is based off of cutie marks and how your cutie mark defines who you are. If the writers are trying to go in that angle for the season I think if they do season 6 and try to put Grogar in it, then a season that delves into necromancy would be interesting story to see. It would also be pretty cool to see Zecora again because we see her a couple times throughout the series, and having her be part of helping to solve this type of magic, or possibly even knowing Grogar would be pretty cool as well.

true, there is certainly a Cutie mark theme of this season. Ideally I would either have him as the season five end villain, OR, I would have the season five end villain WORK for Grogar. One of Necromancy's big powers is Divination, which would mean he would have insights into the future much in the same way Celestia gets in her dreams sometimes. Grogar isn't the kind of guy who would fight head on like Tirek, he would be an Anti Celestia, guiding his own minions to subvert Equestria from the inside

I personally buy the idea that Starlight Glimmer is one of them. She did run away with mane six cutie marks and seemed like she had plans to do something with them before the jars were broken.

When you put it that way, I can see that happening this season or next season. We still don't know much about Starlight Glimmer except she wants equality and that something probably happened to her to make her want to do what she did in the season opener. Hopefully we get more information about that as the season goes on, or the season finale more likely. It may not happen, but what I would like for the writers to do is to show Grogar at the end of season 5. It would be a great buildup for next season and show that Starlight Glimmer was being used by Grogar, or that Grogar wanted the elements that Starlight was trying to steal as a purpose to his goals.
