Which alicorn do you think is best to rule alone?

Honeslty i think Celestia . We seen she can rule alone for 1 thousand years . And as far as we know they were peaceful

Twilight wouldn't be soo bad but i wouldn't trust her completely yet...

Would they really let Luna rule alone after what she tried to do? I get she was nightmare moon when that happen but without Celestia who knows what she would do. I wouldn't trust her.

Cadence i guess could rule but she might not be capable of lowering the sun and moon but that could also be for twilight but who knows . We haven't Yet to see that the others could. (not including when Twilight had Celestia and Luna magic.

Cadence can barely run her empire without trouble. But is still a possible candidate with more practice and more experience.

Twilight has difficulty handling herself along with raising the sun and moon. With more practice she'd be a likely candidate.

Luna is a whiny spoiled brat who tried to flung Equestria into darkness when no one would pay attention to her. She's the least likely out of them all.

 

So, I'd say:

2. Twilight
3. Cadence
4. Luna

Well I feel like Twilight's and Cadance abilities are more important than Celestia and Luna's who mostly just raise and lower the sun and moon. (And Luna can enter dreams too) I feel friendship and love are more important than just raising and lowering the sun and moon. And I'm sure Twilight and Cadance can do that too. Even before Celestia and Luna, it was shown regular unicorns can do that too. But then again it's a weird world anyway because the planet doesn't rotate like ours.

Celestia is the only one who ACTUALLY is good enough, I think. She's been doing a fine job for this long. Why fix something that ain't broke?

 

Twilight seems to still be a bit in her 'student' mindset (plus she's not huge like Celestia, Cadence and Luna XD)

 

Luna is a bit unpredictable, I would say.

 

Cadence is just useless. Not a ruler at all, to me (at least the show version. The comics give we a different spin)

Princess Applejack would be perfect for rule.  AJ's character isn't flighty, or easy to deter.  If Celestia stepped down for any single pony should rule, make it AJ.

Can't say i would disagree with that XD AJ is awesome but there is a few isuues we could run into.

As a Supreme Ruler, I would say Luna. The Ponies still fear her, so they would be more likely to do what she says, She's been doing her best to be a serious ruler since returning from the moon and, this is the Important part, She isn't a Troll! For that Fact alone, I'd say she beats out Celestia.

 

Cadence might be able to do it. We haven't really seen how the Crystal Empire is governed, Everything seems to be working smoothly, at least smoothly enough to host the Equestria Games.

 

Twilight is still relatively unknown, not by the people, but as a ruler. Until she learns that Magic can't solve everything, I wouldn't trust her to rule a state.

I'd have to say that Princess Celestia would be the best possible choice.

I'm not one to be fussy about this but I personally think Princess Luna would be batter at ruler. Maybe where Celestia and Luna do role reversal where Luna is mane ruler of Equestria, and Celestia being the co-ruler. We children of the night would love this much I'm sure. I know I'd love it for sure. I've always found the night to be a place of peace away from the darkness of the everyday life. Like a shadow veil that guards us from being seen by the troubles of the world.

This is probably just me being biased, but I don't like Celestia for a truly independent leader.  She foisted a lot of her duties and crisis management on Twilight, and with her style of leadership, her flunkies would eventually screw up and the entire world would end or something.

 

Twilight could roll with a few punches, but I don't think she has all the knowledge to deal with old enemies of Equestria who haven't popped up yet.  There's a lot of national secrets she couldn't just get out of a book.

 

Cadence would be absolutely useless in a crisis.  She could unify and inspire her subjects during peace times, but she doesn't seem like she could make hard, potentially hurtful decisions or help her country in a war.

 

Luna, though.  She's kind of hard to relate to, but there's a certain harshness to her character that would help her be a firm ruler, and she's pretty hands-on.  I mean, she came to Ponyville herself when she thought she wasn't liked, and she's rescued a few distressed subjects from their bad dreams.  I think if her duties were extended she could really step up to the plate and totally rock as Queen Luna.

Celestia, she has the most experience out of them (more than Luna who was on the Moon for 1000 years).

Plus, she seems to be the wisest and the calmest of them (and the most powerful?).

Celestia has a proven track record as she has led solo for a thousand years already quite successfully might I add, and she has a good eye for delegating responsibility to others.

 

Luna, Twilight, and Cadence are all too inexperienced.

That would be Celestia considering that out of the four of them she has the most experience, has the best examples of patience, and in general has a nice balance of nice & harsh.

 

While Celestia's emotional track record isn't perfect (Reflections arc of the comics), Luna's has been worse. Twilight only just started and Cadence has enough on her plate with the Crystal Empire; let alone all of Equestria.

Yes, but Celestia's rule was stagnant.  A millennia of rule and no real advancement in that time.  From what we've seen, Luna wasn't too far out of place - yes, she missed some cultural shift, but isn't shocked at things like street lamps. So, in 1000 years the tech advancement of Equestria has been lacking.

 

If Equestria had a ruler that wouldn't be content with just sitting on the throne, then maybe things would get done.

Who is best to rule alone? Celestia and Luna are practically interchangeable to me. You can't argue with the experience and wisdom that comes with having lived for over 1,000 years. If I must choose, I would nominate Celestia. If for no other reason, simply because she is more in touch with the modern era. So in order we have: Celestia, Luna, Cadence, then Twilight.

Call me conservative, but I'd say Celestia. She ran the show solo for a thousand years. That's managing the heavens as well as the day to day affairs of state!

 

If not her, I'd say Twilight since she is pretty much Celestia's successor.

Actually i think discord would be a good ruler with fluttershy also.

 

He knows how to run a kingdom and wit fluttershy to help him then he can hopefully run it without the chaos he likes to casue.

 

Also the raising the sun and moon he is shown to be able to do if luna or celestia were to die or something.

Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea. I was watching a video about who would be dominant princess if Celestia were to die or something and it proved some very valid points on Cadence being Princess of Equestria. Well the "dominant " one

Celestia would be best I think, she has been doing a great job of it, after all. Luna I think has been maturing a lot through the show. Cadance and Twilight I feel are just too young. (Though we don't actually know Cadance's age, I suppose.)
