I never understood the rage against such concept of ponifying things, though only to a certain extent.

 

Nobody ever cares as much were one to make a underage heavily endowed moe-anthropomorphic anime girl out of something, even something as common as a furry fetish! However, when it comes to ponies... "ITZ UNACCEPTIBUL!"

I am sure that the reason why ponification makes people upset is because MLP is seen as a "children's show", and to spread its influence anywhere else would reduce its worth to MLP's childish, girly level.

 

In other words, to ponify something would create as much outrage as Game of Thrones having an official crossover with Barney the Dinosaur and Sonic the Hedgehog.

I can understand why it would annoy some people, but I don't usually have a problem with it. It depends on what it is and the way its handled. There's good ponifications and there's horrible ones. I've drawn some pony versions of anime characters for fun.
