I do home workout videos, which they probably even have some on netflix! It doesn't have to cost a fortune to get healthy!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm hmmmm hmmmm

There is still pain and torment that I must go through ;c

Have you tried anything low impact like yoga or pilates??

I'm a courtesy clerk. I bag groceries, clean, collect carts and answer customer's questions. It helps as is evident by the fact that before I was working there I weighed 220, and I now weigh 209, without any change in my diet or exercising habits.

If you are happy with how you feel from being active at work, that's all that counts!

Ohhhh I know what that is. I never tried it though. I don't even know where I could start.

I do a lot of cycling. Me and a few friends usually go to one of the local conservation areas/provincial parks around here and go mountain biking for the day. Usually racking up 40k each day trip. Other times I"ll ride around town on one of my other bikes. I've  got a different bike for different styles of riding.

Ooh fun...

I'm pretty new to the fitness stuff...but I generally do a two mile walk on the treadmill and either follow (or start with) two reps of twelve on at least three arm machines, two on legs and a set of 25 crunches.

That, combined with healthy eating lead to me losing 76lbs since February of 2014. I'm aiming for 100 by the end of this year so...(crosses fingers/hooves/whatevers).

I've been walking more and mountain biking to help keep me active every day. Some pushups and pullups too for a little variety.

It's not much but I've slowly been increasing my routine and duration. It has resulted in me being in the best shape of my life at the moment, although that admittedly is a relative description since I've never really had what you could call "muscle tone" before. I've never been the athletic type but I am working towards being healthier overall and gaining a base level of fitness that will allow me to do all of the thing I like (and would like) to do.

I don't specifically exercise but I do a lot of stuff throughout the day.  I do a lot of biking and generally a lot of walking.  I'm an active person by nature and I am in shape

I've eating some very shitty junk foods lately and just recently I've notice that it's begun to take its toll ;_;

I do want a healthy body ... but it's a struggle .... to eat healthy and spend a shit load of money, feel horrible, feel pain ... or be lazy, save money and buy cheap shit, watch netflix all day long, and feel good for a little while.

That, my friends, is the question.

I want to at least feel sexy and comfortable again. I guess the best things in life require sacrifice. I once heard a quote. "You wish to know peace, you must first come to know pain."

I know how you feel, by the way! I struggle with depression and anxiety, and sometimes pushing myself to do what I know will make me feel better is really, really hard. I don't know what your challenges are be they physical or mental, but I hope you find a way to work around them! <3

There's so many different things you can do that are low impact. c: If it helps any, I started off really slow...doing 15 minutes on the treadmill and working up from there. As Capricorn said up there, yoga and pilates are good for low impact workouts and I suggest them too.

I follow a variety of health rules :33

*3 cups of salad (NOT fruit salad, potato salad, etc.) a day, no dressing

*Take a 5000iu vitamin d3 suppliment every morning

*Practice left right and center splits every day, bridges also

*At least 4 sessions of interval training a week

*Grains are absolutely never allowed; if you need carbs, eat a potato

*No sugar, ever

*Clean your teeth a minimum of 3 times a day

*Sleep from 12am-7am (some science has shown that 7 hours of sleep is actually better than 8)

*Eat light amounts of healthy fats, such as avocado, organic grass-fed butter, and coconut oil

*Other than a little fish, absolutely no meat

*The bulk of your calories should come from vegetables

... And the results look something like this:

By sugar, I do mean sugar extracted from sugar canes or beats (along with other sweeteners). Sugar from fruit or kefir for example is fine though :33 (there are benefits that come with the evil haha)

EDIT: naturally occuring in plain kefir, not the sweetened versions ... those are like candy x3

I looked down at my body. I was overwheight and even though I excersied and could do things I wanted to change to what I saw to be happier with myself. I started running. It was hard at first but it got easier and I started training for high school xc.

By the end of my first year of running I decided to cut all things unhealthy from my diet and lost 40 pounds. Now after 2 years of track/xc and after I graduated I run 50 miles a week and lost another 10 pounds to become a beanpole distance runner who can gorge on fruit and vegetables and protein shakes and burritos.

It takes dedication and it's hard but it's something that's important and you should just do. Just try to find some way to get out for the first time. Do what you can to get rid of bad food. Instead of getting junk food at the store. Instead get only healthy food. COUNT calories. Like quantify with numbers and stick to a diet.

Most people on here are probably young and don't realize how important it is to change their eating lifestyle right now to prevent chronic disease that may catch up to them later from the unhealthy eating. This is the main reason I am reaching out for support now. I am not over weight and have never been, but I am thin and unhealthy due to eating whatever I want and working very hard to change that now!  :)

It's mostly mental. I'm just not used to them :c But hopefully, as long as I start slow, I should do just fine. I'll especially look at some yoga videos<3 Thank you, hun for the advice<3

I play Wii U Fit because it doesn't require leaving the house or interacting with anyone/paying any fees besides buying the game and a Wii U. It has clear instructions as well. Although I've been skimping on it slightly lately and haven't been doing many of the exercises, I still try to at least run for 30 minutes everyday if I can motivate myself. Motivation's been a bit hard lately, but I usually get it when I see my weight go up due to the fact that I weigh myself everyday for the game even if I do nothing else.

Also, a phone calorie tracking app has been very helpful. I just scan the barcode on all of my foods and keep track of the amount of caloric intake, generally. I lost a lot of my weight simply by limiting myself to a very specific amount of calories, although I haven't been tracking as much lately either due to the fact that I eat generally the same foods everyday, so inputting them repeatedly isn't as necessary anymore.

Again, I've been doing this a bit more intermittently and with less dedication than I did before. But something is better than nothing, I keep telling myself as I do it on occasion when I see those numbers go up again. It's generally a balancing act with my weight and I constantly work to keep it in a certain spot. I don't have a job or anything, so it's really important to keep track of that as I have little opportunities for natural exercise.

The foods I eat are typically very limited, and low calorie. I don't know if they can be considered healthy, per say. But I make sure the calories aren't too high on all of my foods and don't tend to eat any unnecessary junk like candy or potato chips.

Eat healthy awww yiss fruit addict.

Although I do have too many pot noodles

BUT THEY ARE SO NICE

Exercise?

To be perfectly honest

The best form of exercise (for me anyway)

Is walking

I mean, its relaxing, its slow, you get to see scenery, and you get time with your thoughts

And you get wonderfully sculpted legs while you are at it *no shame*

I mean, its just fun

Tomorrow (or possibly the day after depending on weather, I'm going to walk 5-7 miles or so from here to see what that odd tower thing is on that hill over there.

Then I'm going to walk back

And I'm gonna be listening to the lotr theme tune all the way (sheer epicness).

My dad and I go walking quite a bit, when we were in snowdonia (highly popular trails) one time we found this couple who had forgotten to bring their food with them, fortunately we had quite a few trail bars on our person(s) and could share, had lunch with those guys, lovely people. So its a sociable form of exercise as well.

I mean, its only possible if you have the time (and equipment jeez, have you seen what happens to peoples feet without proper shoes, plus, hypothermia on the mountains without proper layers aint fun) so it has a couple of limitations. But in my opinion, its well worth doing. The most relaxing form of exercise ever xD

There will be a moment in your life that the choice to not have some activity in your life will bite you. Heart diseases, muscle deterioration, diabetes, respiratory impairments. Don't let your grandpa and grandma fool you with all the "I was really lazy and ate really bad, and look at me!" stories. Previous generations definitely had a more active and healthy life than we have. A little action now can save a lot of pain later.

I used to drink one or two bottles of coke every day, I used to eat xxl bags of chips like it was nothing. When I first started exercising and running, that feeling of chest pain will stick with me forever. And I DEFINITELY don't want to know how that would've felt 20 years in the future if I didn't make a change.

If you don't want to work out or exercise much, that's fine. If you don't want to balance your food, that's okay too. But think about the consequences. Not in one year, or two. But in ten or fifteen. There are plenty of things that can creep up on you and which you will regret. At the very least do a seven minute HIIT workout twice every day.

If you don't stay active. And become more or less a couch potato. Depening if you are an active reader or just sitting there, then your body will be fattened up. Which is why its important to stay active in order for circulation in your body to keep on going. I usually just go to mountain trips during summer and play games, watch movies and all that fun stuff.

To be honest?  I sort of gave up, now all I do is make excuses and stopped caring.

Why would you not care about yourself? Have you not found something that you enjoy and wouldn't mind doing several times a week to stay active? There are soo many options out there and support groups to keep you motivated!

Well I guess the reason I started exercising in the first place was to lose weight, I guess that might have been the wrong approach because I kept gaining weight anyways.  Changed my diet, my habits, etc.  Didn't change a thing, frustrated me to no end.  So I didn't find a point to it, also, I kept attracting a lot of bugs.  First it was the bees, then it was the biting flies and mosquitoes.  If it sounds like an excuse, it is, I really hate bugs.  Before you say, "well haven't you tried to use Off?"  The bugs around here are typically like, "d'awww, you're using bug repellent?  Isn't that cute!"  I used to do exercise videos off of youtube, my tv has this nice feature on it that plays internet videos.  I didn't really enjoy those all that much and it felt as though the floor was going to give way, so I stopped.  I still might do some of the ones that involve no jumping around from time-to-time but it's hard to find videos without jumping jacks in them or some other type of jumping around.

Then I started to jog, which is partially where the bugs come in.  I enjoyed that(the jogging that is), didn't enjoy the bugs much though.  The flies are pretty bad this year, so I stopped.  We also bought a wooded property a year ago with the intent of building on it.  I used to work on the property(like chopping logs and such) and have recently given that up too.  I just stay indoors on my computer and don't want to be seen by the outside world.  I think it's more of a part to a bigger issue though.  I used to be like this before, I'm a bit worried it might lead to a relapse(in my depression that is).

Fast forward to the present and now my mum seems to think that making fun of me for my weight and laziness will encourage me to get back out there and do something again.  We recently went over to my aunt's house so I could clean out her computer and my mum kept saying that I needed an excuse to get out of the house anyways.  Sure I laugh along in order to not argue about it but it's really doing the opposite.  It makes me want to stay indoors even more.  Now I'm just complaining.  Sorry if this post doesn't make much sense and sounds like I'm ranting.

I do a mixture of Calisthenics and normal weight lifting in order to stay fresh and on top. I do this 4 times a week (that is 2 days of weight lifting and 2 of days Calisthenics). For the remainder, I just do HIIT training.

Pretty easy and simple.  :P

I don't really bother with protein drinks and all that noise - just lots of water and a handful of gummy bears after a workout, lol.

.. working on trying to do the Human Flag. Man, it's hard. hah
