technology No TV/Phone/Games?

As I know Most people reacts when i tell them that i don't own either a gaming console or television.

I personally is not entertained by television (and I don't anywhere to put even a small tv) and I don't see any reason at all to get one.. And for The Gaming consoles, The only reason for me to get an Xbox or PlayStation is to play with my friends. but i don't see the fun in playing all the time.. I have an rather outdated gaming rig that runs the most games..but still i don't play for more than 3hrs each day( in Average) the rest of the time i use for other tings like Guitar or reading. there is a ton of stuff to do unless the common television/games.

I find the freedom of not watching television great. and i may be outdated on tv-shows that everyone watches.. i don't care. I am a totally independent person that takes my own decisions. if people are judging me for it. let it be their problem. I do as i want. and I'm know for it.

And i feel great... to know that i can take a week of with our computer/TV/games/phone without ever thinking of it. it's great...

Well I barely watch TV anymore (just have it playing in the background sometimes). I've never had a cell phone (NEVER), and I haven't really played video games in a while.

There are 2 games I want to replay before I leave, but thats about it (And I can play both on my PC)

I got my PC. Thats all I need. I get all the good classic games I want, communication with my girlfriend, and Ponies. All the entertainment I could ever want.

No there is no good TV-programs... and sure.. the old Classic games is the best!

The only reason i still are intrested in computers is because.. it's an hobby of mine.. I often try to understand and update myself on technology and such (and it is a big part of the school. even when i don't learn either programming or the thing that include computers software)

to be honest... i've grown boored of games.. they don't have any meaning to me.. I play to play with my friends... I've stopped playing alone.. it isn't fun anymore... when I don't have anyone to play with my computer are used for music and research

EDIT: 93th post X) ~just because i feel random

I am not a fan of television, and the only TV show I watch is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (I watch it on YouTube). Admittedly, I do play video games, but not nearly as often as I used to (I was a hardcore gamer during my adolescence). In fact, if it were not for video games, I would have no reason to own a television.

I only got a cell phone due to the fact that they are typically cheaper than older land line telephones. I have gotten used to carrying it with me, but I do not use it very often, and when I do use it, I use it to keep in touch with my family, for the most part. I probably spend several hours per month at most on my cell phone.

I have not bothered with PC gaming, as I think it is ultimately expensive, as it does not take long for a high end PC to become obsolete (a console, on the other hand, stays current for years). I have been using laptops for the past six years, and I typically use them for internet and basic applications, not for gaming and the like.

Aside from MLP: FiM, an occasional movie (I typically get something on Blu-Ray or DVD and do not bother with the theaters), and video games, I entertain myself by collecting and shooting firearms, handloading and reloading cartridges for my guns, and reading books and periodicals (this is also educational). I also work out every now and then, and I need to join a local community center that has a pool, as I have not swam for over a decade and I am eager to get my toes wet once again.

TV I could care less about.

Internet, less so. I'd manage, definitly, but it would mean good-bye to all of you, and that would be hard to do. :(

I don't own a computer, so I have to rely on my TV and game consoles for entertainment, and I use my phone for the internet, so yeah... if I had a computer though, I would probably use all but my game consoles a lot less. :P

I'm very selective in what I watch on television. I only watch maybe an hour or two a day. I'm not a gamer though, so that doesn't even enter into the equation. I do read a whole lot, so I don't have to worry about my mind turning into pudding!

I used to watch TV for about 2 hours a day, because I had nothing better to do. Now, that I have a computer with internet access, I rarely watch TV (maybe once in a month :P ). The problem I have with TV is that you have to watch it when the show comes, which would make my life more routine-like. I still watch a couple of TV shows, but they are on my computer, so I can watch then when I have enough time.

I used to play games a lot, especially when I had a better internet connection and an up-to-date console. I have also played a lot of PC-games, but I am slowly drifting away from them, with the exception of Minecraft once in a while. I have always been more of a PC-gamer than a console gamer, since console games cost more, and the new consoles cost nearly as much as a PC. Also, a PC is way more useful than a console  . I also love the fact that with a PC and with internet access, I stumble upon new things to do every day :) .

I also used to play a lot of simple games on my phone, but now I use it only for internet, calls and text messages. I have had a phone for a long time now, but I don't use it a lot.

Alright now...i dont really watch TV unless its anime or adult swim for maybe 2 shows. ATHF and Big O when it randomly comes on. Also, i cant play RE 1 on my laptop. i have never liked PC games. iwas born with a controller in my hand and thats how i am. but if i had to get rid of my 360 and Wii, id gladly trade it for a Playstation one with working copys of Resident Evil 1,2, and 3. Thats the only games i would need. OH! And Final Fantasy 7. Those four.

And my pc houses all my emulators for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and Gameboy/ GBA.

TV? Like most, I rarely watch it. So it's not necessary.

Video games? I'd like to keep them, because I do enjoy them a lot. But I can definitely make do without them.

Internet? Computer?

Oh God no.

The reason I need the internet though is a bit less trivial than most. Sure, I like to watch Youtube videos, and do like to generally just screw around and procrastinate on things I'm supposed to be doing. But I need the computer for Photoshop and my artworks, first of all. Second, it's the only means of real socialization I have. All of my best friends are on the internet, and I have no real life ones. Without it, I would withdraw and become extremely depressed. As well, for the moment (until I move), it's the only means of communicating with my boyfriend that I have. Well, other than the phone. I'm not really attached to my phones though. I just use them when it's necessary, and do not text. But I do enjoy talking on it. And without the internet or phone, no boyfriend.

Arylett manages to capture my thoughts on this thread and convey them nicely. This is exactly how I feel. I do not mind not having cable/satellite TV, but I would require a gaming console and a laptop. 'Tis all I need considering that the internet is growing at exponential rates so therefore, the need for televisions is slowly declining, unless you really have a flair for (inter)national programming and would like to watch it in high definition. Admittedly, I would love to do so, although I could live with just my laptop and fast internet.

No TV? Do you live in Africa?

No... I live in the country that's at the top of the list of welfare countries.. Norway... But i Grew up at the limit of being broke. (and I learned of it.) we often had the homemade bread and homemade jam (still most delectius jam ever). Meat from our own Sheeps.. fish from the sea that we'd Fished ourself...but still.. i know how it is.. And I am a person that know how to work.. and i don't like taking payment for small jobs like babysitting for people i know.. I'm used to do such work for free (just because it had to be done... and I never had money for anything nice(but that's because i'm lazy).

. I have an totally different look at entertainment.. I usually had to find stuff to do myself. at the summers i could take 1-2hrs running trips at the mountains (just because its so beautiful) or do some work... that's how i entertained myself.. Now that i moved to the city to live (to get my education) I feel terrible... got the feeling that i want to do something but the computers and televisions feels just like.. meh..everything feels kind of meh.. don't wan't to do anything..

So basiclly I use ma days at school and by using the computer.. don't bother to play anything.. just sitting messing around...
