Do you pay attention to song lyrics?

I pay attention to song lyrics when they’re legible, which is a 50/50 proposition. And when I can decipher them I want them to rhyme. By rhyming I don’t mean two words that share a common vowel and nothing more. True rhyming requires the right consonants as well and matching stresses on syllables, which absolutely no one pays attention to anymore. Mostly I just hear a lot or repeated lines that mean little and rhyme even less. And these songwriters are millionaires, WTF?

Definitely. I don't expect high poetry from lyrics, but I do expect them to not be a complete gibberish. The only exception of course is music that was made to be silly or ridiculous, but that's a complete separate category.

I pay attention to the lyrics most of the time - assuming I can understand the language. I also like to sing along with some songs.

There are some songs where the music is happy but the lyrics not so much.

Depends on what song it is, and if I can actually make out the vocals, when in most songs I just can't.

I try to. To be honest, I have trouble understanding song lyrics and I often won't really know or understand it unless I look it up.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
