I like this idea, though I don't think they could make Rarity an alicorn princess without doing the same for the rest of the mane six.

 

However, Blueblood is royalty without being an alicorn, so perhaps Rarity could discover she's related to royalty, therefore putting her in the bloodline and making her royal too.

Twilight's "Leadership" isn't so much leadership as "organization". She tends to just point one of her friends in the direction of a problem and let them go; Chessmaster or master leader she isn't.

 

Honestly, all of the mane six are leaders, they're just leaders in their specific fields, like Dash with pegasi or Fluttershy with animals and magical creatures. Hell, Fluttershy's Key lesson was more about learning about leadership than anything where she learns that you have to be stern with others rather than trying to do everything for them (Which makes me think that Fluttershy would work incredibly in a duo episode with Celestia since the two's personality's in that effect seem similar)

 Yes, more than Starlight. Starlight hasn't had a chance to prove herself, and why is a special talent in magic a reason to be a princess? Twilight became a Princess, but it wasn't ultimately because of her special talent.

 

Honestly, Starlight's Only Reason for being made a princess is "She's kind of like twilight!", which is ridiculous outside of a narrative reason. She's an outright insane sociopath who almost destroyed the timeline for moronic reasons, and her only acts of "leadership" was enforcing a horrible distopia.

By that rational, Trixie's a great candidate for alicornhood since she forced ponyville to be her personal kingdom for a whole too and is kind of like twilight

I really hope we don't see more starlight, or even worse her becoming an alicorn.

 

 

 

That being said, the comics DID say that apparently the only thing you need to become a princess is to be really good at magic, since Radiant hope was about to be taken away to be trained to be a princess by Luna and celestia Purely based on having really good magic.

Agreed, and sadly that reason is how fiction works. Even now, I still don't see the point behind making Twilight an alicorn or even a princess since, as you said, she hasn't done anything noteworthy of her role. Some might say she's saved Equestria too many times, but saving a population and helping that population move forward are two different things.

 

Twilight did show some good leadership in "Dragonshy", though. I don't know if she's showed something along those lines in other episodes, and unfortunately I'm too lazy to look.

 

As for Rarity, if nothing else, she has the looks and stylishness of a princess.

That's actually one of the reasons why i don't really care much about Rarity as most people in this fandom do.

 

She is like one of those fashionistas who mostly like to talk about fashion, how nice her jewels look and how the Royals in the Buckingham palace are having Drama again. I find these kind of people totally boring.

 

I know, that's not actually objective criticism and more a problem of myself. But it is what it is for me.

I'm highly amused that many are using minor misunderstood.....and in my opinion....childish reasons as to why Rarity would be a terrible princess. She's too fashiony? All she'll talk about is fashion? Her cutiemark only means she can find jewels so that's what she'll do as  a princess. 

 

My word, this is too rich. That's like a person saying Twilight is unworthy of her title because she's too nerdy....and all she'll talk about is books. 

 

I'm not shaming those who believe Rarity isn't fit to be a princess, I'm expressing dissapointment in the REASONS they use. Most of which are irrelevant to the topic at hand. A pony's interests should be the last thing you should use against them if you're explaining why you see them unfit as a pony of high power.

Applejack, a character who's been well grounded since Season 1....mature and level-headed. The family oriented Samaritan with great work ethic . Who possesses many great values......WOULD BE A TERRIBLE PRINCESS! She's too "country". She doesn't have class. And all she cares about are apples. Her cutiemark is literally apples. Besides, I can't relate to her therefore I can't understand her. And I think anypony I don't understand will be  a terrible prince/princess by default. 

 

 

Personally, I have no desires to see all of them become alicorn buddies. But im not againt the idea either. I understand that each possess qualities in what a "Princess" should be including Rarity. And not all princesses are perfect.....that's an obvious truth we've seen countless times from Twilight,Celestia, and Luna. And while it hasn't been executed even Cadence has flaws to being a princess.

You get your wings, you get your tiara, you get your castle where you can hang out with your friends and shit, there, you are a princess! Eyup, being an Equestrian princess is really, really hard, especially when you only need one to do all the actual management. Oh, but I bet those poor little ponies were suffering so much all those centuries without the extra princesses to do their super important jobs. Without any white beacon of hope for the ponies to rally behind, things were literally worse than Innistrad! Thank goodness we now have all these fine protectors of some very important stuff. Such vital tasks, such vicious burdens, such unyielding valiance! 10/10 would pay my quintupled taxes and ask for more princesses!

Agreed. Too bad their tattered little rulebook gets overruled by marketing. Then again, I am personally of an opinion that MLP doesn’t have a rulebook anymore. Thus we can safely throw all our canon convictions out of the window and start thinking like entrepreneurs.
