SteveMorison 408 September 14, 2015 Share September 14, 2015 MLP is a show which came out in 2010 so wouldn't have had much of an impact on most of our childhood's before the teenage years. But how much does MLP remind you of the shows you watched as a kid? I personally feel most nostalgic when it comes to the songs and music in the show.
Mothra 780 September 14, 2015 Share September 14, 2015 If it's an episode that mirrors an event in my life, I feel somewhat nostalgic. Flight to the finish and Hurricane Fluttershy are a probably the best examples. Other than that there really isn't much nostalgia in it for me
Mesme Rize 15,692 September 14, 2015 Share September 14, 2015 I feel incredibly nostalgic about season 2 Episodes, because i've been in the fandom since then. I remember the times when i came home from work and immediatly searched for any kind of pony stuff online, most of it being Fanfics. Everytime an episode was coming up, i was squealing like a little kid. Not that i still anticipate new episodes, but after 4 years, you kind of get settled in. 2 My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar. Jeric 46,884 September 14, 2015 Share September 14, 2015 If it's an episode that mirrors an event in my life, I feel somewhat nostalgic. Flight to the finish and Hurricane Fluttershy are a probably the best examples. Other than that there really isn't much nostalgia in it for me I was initially going to reply to this topic suggesting that I hadn't felt nostalgic since I didn't get into the show until 2014, and that the qualities of this show make it too unique. Then I saw your post and remembered episodes like Amending Fences which sucker punched me in the memory center of my brain. I do feel nostalgia, though not because of other past media I find comparable. The show has been notable in making me recall relevant memories and emotions of my past from time to time. In a way that is a more powerful nostalgia trip than saying MLP feels like x show. I will say the very act of watching cartoons on saturday morning does have an impact too.
GuyNamedEarl 1,332 September 15, 2015 Share September 15, 2015 I don't have much nostalgia to the show as I only started watching a few months ago, but I still have connections to the show and characters like Rainbow Dash. 1 Creator of MLP Ruined Vines and Recorder Sh*t Equestria's Biggest Hip-Hop Nerd Everyday is Leg Day! NotoriousSMALL 1,984 September 15, 2015 Share September 15, 2015 I don't really get nostalgic except maybe a little if I think back on season 1-2. Mostly on the old songs, especially season 1 songs. It's just weird thinking how time went by so quickly, it feels like soooo long ago that I was waiting for season 2 to air (damn, that was back when two parters aired the parts on separate weeks). I hate being one of those sappy "hurr durr da good ole dayz now everyting sux" but for me it did kinda feel different back then, when it was fresh and new. Also on the topic of nostalgia, for some reason Rarity's new song gives me a little bit of nostalgia for some reason, but I don't really know why. Lord Bradley 1,319 September 15, 2015 Share September 15, 2015 I've only been in the fandom for a year, so Nostalgia hasn't really started to set in yet. Though, I do feel a little bit of it whenever I watch any episodes prior to season 5. Varrack 1,080 September 16, 2015 Share September 16, 2015 I wouldn't compare to other shows, or eveven childhood memories. I would compare it to aspects of myself I suppose. I connect with some of the characters in several ways, and I think by watching it I'm reminded of myself, and that gives me nostalgia in a way. Dark Horse 12,971 September 16, 2015 Share September 16, 2015 Well, I don't quite feel the level of nostalgia I get from other shows of my childhood, being that this is still a relatively recent fandom compared to them and I personally have only been watching the show since mid-2014. That being said, I do still get bouts of it from watching early episodes and remembering thinking how daft and unremarkable the show must be and what on earth the big deal with it all was. How little I knew... "Always watching - Always lurking." Signature by @Kyoshi

GeekySonic 1,151 September 16, 2015 Share September 16, 2015 Not exactly. I was almost 10 when the show started. I didn't watch it until I was 14. But then again, I only started watching it because Rainbow Dash reminded me of Sonic the Hedgehog (my childhood idol). So, I guess I can say I feel maybe just a pinch of nostalgia whenever Rainbow's around. Check out my voice-acting demo reels on Casting Call Club, if you'd like. Luna the Great of all the Russias 3,121 September 16, 2015 Share September 16, 2015 More true when I watch earlier episodes because it reminds me of when I was new to Bronydom (and Bronydom itself quite young) and things definitely seemed more exciting to me back then; more used to it now. Princess Lona 382 September 17, 2015 Share September 17, 2015 I watched the original show when I was a kid and FIM gives me no nostalgia at all. They are two very different shows. I also find FIM to be quite different overall from the shows I watched as a kid. It's better than a lot of them and it's an example of some of the positive changes in children's programming that are starting to take hold today. The only time I feel nostalgic watching FIM is when a character makes a weird face and it reminds me of Ren and Stimpy or the early days of Internet Flash cartoons. My OC, Tabula. They call me Loyalty 1,954 September 18, 2015 Share September 18, 2015 Didn't watch any show as a kid. Difficult childhood, didn't feel like sinking myself on the screen would have solved any problem. Can't even remember most things. Wasn't enjoying it, that's for sure. My inner child still enjoys watching mlp, fixing up my earthly parents' faults. His voice is childish, despite being 25 years young.
