A10 23 October 12, 2015 Share October 12, 2015 I think it was mentioned in this video, but Zecora was designed to be like a "mentor" for the adventure stories that were supposed to occur pretty often in MLP. But since a lot of episodes are more "slice of life" than "adventure", her character isn't really necessary. Though I do hope for her to come back. She's pretty awesome. I don't think she was solely meant to be Twilight's mentor--just for anypony who was going on an adventure. The Everfree Forest has been used rather sparingly since season 1, and that's where she lives. Most adventure episodes takes place outside Ponyville these days. As someone previously said, Zecora was a mentor to Twilight and others in Ponyville (mainly the CMC and the rest of the mane 6) who need her assistance. Maybe the writer are just sick of the rhyming gig, and called it quits on abundant use of her character.
