Finally listened to some more Autechre outside of Exai, specifically Tri repetae. I liked it. What else can I really say beyond that?

According to those guys this must also count as Dubstep

After hearing so many people going crazy over Jamie Woon's album Mirrorwriting, I gave it a chance.... I absolutely hated it, I couldn't stand the singing. The instrumental part wasn't very memorable anyways

I hadn't even heard of it until now, sounds like I'm not missing out on much

I'll chill to some Trip Hop now

Mezzanine is best Trip-Hop album

You should listen to Amber, imo that's the best Autechre album, with Tri-Repetae in a close second.

You just summed up the Brostep community there. It's sad how the majority of the people who keep using the word "wub" doesn't even know what it is :/

It's just a poor man's version of James Blake; A less arts-y, more boring and obnoxious version of him

Oh well, have a song from the best Atmospheric DnB album of all time

It's sad to see that this level of stupidity actually exists....

Since we're talking about Glitch Hop here, I gotta post some Prefuse 73, essential stuff

I can't say that I care all too much for the genre, but stuff like this is heavenly

It is a bit old, but I just recently fell in love with this. Amazing song.

Renard always does some good stuff. I just wish he would do more music under his The Queenstons alias.

Anyways, leavng some predictable IDM posting from Moog

UR SO UNPREDICTABLE

Gonna steer this thread away from godly IDM and badly produced Electro House to some R33L house!111111

microhouse is best house

I'm digging this shit so much, can't get this track out of my head. Congo Natty normally makes Jungle (aka real DnB), but this is some Dubstep-y Ragga. Big ups

Speaking of House I might as well leave a track from my all time favorite house album

House meets Synthpop, with a hint of Dark Ambient and Trip-Hop it's amazing stuff

Also this is one of those rare instances where Prog House is actually good

This album was my fucking jam a few days ago.

Are there any other great albums made entirely up of samples like this one, or does it stand in a category all its own?

The main problem is that Plunderphonics is such a vague term/genre, it can't really be considered to be a true stand-alone genre in itself. So, the genre can get very varied, but some more famous examples:

My favorite Plunderphonics album

In terms of the Plunderphonics + Hip Hop mix that Endtroducing got, it's pretty unique as far as I know. This is the only other example I could think of

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ql8l6pXmB0

This is where the genre really branches out and the rest doesn't really reach the same level as the two already mentioned

Kids & Explosions. Shit Computer is nice

Oneothrix is pretty good, though he got a lot of minimal synth sounds and field recordings going on

You should pay a listen to $WA666 N[]NJA. His album Flower Children is available for free (linked it)

You also have more edgy and avant-garde influenced stuff like Negativland and John Oswald

Sadly, there are very few "fantastic" albums in the genre

IDM, ambient, and synthwave are my favorite genres within the realm of electronic music. All sorts of techno are increasingly beginning to pique my interest.

I've been loving Aphex Twin lately. He's legendary.

I love the work of Jon Hopkins, too. Discovered him because I'm a Coldplay fan and he has collaborated with them several times. But his best work is all his own:
